Abstract

Cancer patients must be accompanied so that long struggles do not occur which result in delayed therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of assistance by cancer survivors on motivation to undergo treatment in cancer patients. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method with the Control Group Post test only design approach or the post test control group. The research was conducted at the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation Halfway House and Dharmais Hospital Jakarta. The sample consisted of 64 people which were divided into 32 people in the control group and 32 people in the intervention group. The intervention provided is assistance by survivors. Data is collected through a questionnaire. Based on the Mann Whitney Test, a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained, meaning that there were differences in the motivation of breast cancer patients in the group that received assistance and the group that did not receive assistance. So it was concluded that assistance by breast cancer survivors affects the motivation of breast cancer patients. This can be supported by the descriptive test that was carried out earlier that the motivation of the cancer patients in the assisted group obtained a higher average value than the group who did not receive assistance.

Abstract

Background Health development as part of efforts to build a whole person, (1) Children are the nation's assets in the future. Health efforts that are carried out since the child is still in the womb until the first five (5) years of life are aimed at maintaining their survival while at the same time improving the quality of life of the child. (2) The role of parents is very important in fulfilling nutrition because at this time children really need attention and care. parental support in the face of very rapid growth and development. (3) One of the health indicators that is assessed for its successful achievement in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) is to find sustainable solutions to end hunger and all forms of malnutrition and to achieve food security by 2030. (4) The problem of stunting nutrition will have an impact on cognitive abilities , long term productivity. (5) Nutritional problems, especially for toddlers who suffer from stunting, can hinder the growth and development process of toddlers. Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers which is characterized by a shorter height compared to children his age. The problem of short toddlers illustrates the existence of chronic nutritional problems that are influenced by the condition of the mother/prospective mother, fetal period, and infancy/toddler, including diseases suffered during infancy and other problems that indirectly affect health. (9) Short and very short or what is often referred to as stunting is a nutritional status based on a height index for age. The percentage of very short and short toddlers aged 0-59 months in Indonesia in 2018 was 11.5% and 19.3%, respectively. Objective To improve the ability of parents in promoting nutrition for infants under five for parents with stunting at the Alak Health Center, Kupang City in 2022. The method used in this study was quantitative with a quasi-experimental method with a research design of One group pretest posttest design, namely a research design that included a pretest before given treatment and posttest after being given treatment. The research subjects were all parents of infants under five in the working area of the Alak Public Health Center, Kupang City.

Abstract

There are few guidelines for health workers to follow when providing and managing malaria prevention therapy during pregnancy, but due to a lack of effective treatment options, malaria management during pregnancy has become non-standard in many countries. This study aims to assess the malaria prevention program in pregnancy, including its advantages, challenges, and obstacles. It was carried out using a systematic scoping review of the literature to identify publications that addressed the prevention program. A structured search was conducted on different databases using predefined eligibility criteria for the 17 selected articles. Malaria prevention programs in pregnancy are effective, but they must be integrated and involve the community. Various countries are having difficulty implementing WHO-recommended strategies, such as Long-Lasting Insecticide Nets (LLINs), antimalarial drugs, and Rapid Diagnostic Tests. Therefore it is necessary to develop an integrated program to prevent and treat malaria in pregnancy.
