Abstract

Assessment of soil fertility status can be done through a soil test approach, but the main problem is the difficulty of predicting the nutrient content in the soil. This requires laboratory testing and takes several times, while the nutrient requirements must be known immediately so that plants can grow ideally. In the last few decades, researchers have been trying to find alternative methods that are fast, innovative, effective, environmentally friendly, and non-destructive to predict nutrient concentrations. One of the technologies that are currently developing rapidly and has the potential to be used to detect/predict the nutrient content is near-infrared reflectance (NIR). Many studies have been conducted and reported related to the application of close-range infrastructure technology, especially for speed and soil quality. This paper discusses several reviews of research in Aceh Province related to the application of NIRS Technology to detect soil fertility. The NIR technique is an analytical technique that is fast and does not damage the sample of the material to be tested. Information on chemicals based on biological reactions after exposure to NIR radiation. Near-infrared light is available in the wavelength range up to 780 nm to 2500 nm or above visible light. When a ray coming from a light source A falls on a biological object, there will be an interaction between the object and the light. The object's location will respond in the form of reflection, absorbance and transmission. The reflection response can be in the form of direct reflection (specular reflectance) which means that light is reflected back by objects, pseudo reflection (diffuse reflectance) where light is first and then reflected. This research about NIR technology, it can solve problems, especially regarding the improvement and evaluation of soil fertility by predicting the right model to measure the nutrient content of the soil.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the export commodities of the State of Indonesia, a foreign exchange earner besides oil and gas so that it has an important role in economic activities in Indonesia. The main problem with smallholder coffee plantations is the low productivity and quality to meet export standards. One of the causes is pest attack which also causes economic loss. The coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari) is one of the main causes of the decline in coffee production in Indonesia, even in all coffee-producing countries in the world. The purpose of this study was to analyze the attack intensity of the coffee berry borer (H. hampei) on Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora plants in North Sumatra. The research was conducted in Karo, Dairi, Samosir, Humbahas, Taput, Tapsel, Toba, and Simalungun districts spread over fifteen locations. Sampling in this study was carried out exploratively with the Random Sampling method. The results showed that the highest attack intensity of H. hampei on C. arabica was at Paranjulu (56 %) with an altitude of 949 mdpl; and on C. canephora was at Marihat Huta (62 %) with an altitude of 898 mdpl. Huta Galung in Samosir district with an altitude of 1759 mdpl did not find attack intensity H. hampei. The conclusion showed that altitude affected the attack intensity of H. hampei

Abstract

Areca nut (Areca catechu) belongs to the monocotyledonous and palm family of plants known as betel nut or supari plants. The Center of origin areca nut comes from India. Areca nut is a cross-pollinated plant with a heterozygous heterogeneous genetic constitution. Next-generation sequencing is widely used for plant breeding activities, including developing SSR markers with an in-silico approach. This research aims to develop an SSR marker to detect genetic diversity in local areca nut from Indonesia. The genomic data used to develop SSR markers were obtained from the Whole Genome Sequencing of Pinang Reyan Hainan Cultivars obtained from NCBI. Fragments containing SSR regions were isolated using MISA software, and primers were designed with Primer3web v.4.1.0 (https://bioinfo.ut.ee/primer3/). The average total size of the sequences tested was 168770731.8, with a total number of SSRs identified as many as 1149,813. SSR motifs are used as a step in genetic diversity research because these motifs will be used in primary attachments which in turn can affect genetic diversity. There were twenty-eight primers generated from four amplicons (100-150, 150-200, 200-250, and 250-300 bp) used for multiplex primers with motifs (AAT)37, (TA)53, (TA)54, (TC)52, (TC)52, (TG)53, and (AG)54.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting health but also education. The impact is online learning. After the condition of the coronavirus has decreased globally, WHO made a policy regarding the new normal. In Indonesia, the impact of this policy is the learning system through offline and online methods (hybrid learning). Students learn at home and school alternately. The teacher makes various preparations, selects learning tools, and innovates so that students have an interest in learning, are not bored, and succeed. The addition of teachers' tasks and responsibilities resulted in work stress. This study aims to determinants of work stress for elementary school teachers during the implementation of a hybrid system during the COVID-19 pandemic: a case study of Cilacap and Tuban districts. A cross-sectional study was performed on 124 respondents. Age, gender, and working period using a self-data questionnaire, mental workload using NASA-TLX, and work stress using the HSE 2003 questionnaire. Spearman tests were performed to correlate age, gender, working period, and mental workload with work stress. There was a significant correlation between age (p=0.001), working period (p=0.002), mental workload (p=0.001), and work stress. Gender (p=0.690) did not correlate with work stress. Based on the results of studies that have been carried out, factors that correlate with work stress are age, working period, and mental workload. The factors that do not correlate with work stress are gender. Teachers are recommended to adapt to a hybrid learning system.

Abstract

The creation of new entrepreneurs in the City of Banjarmasin and South Kalimantan Province is one of the missions of the local government as a commitment to encourage more people to start a business in the region. The Local Government took the initiative to develop a Business Incubator (Kawal Incubator and Inbitek Borneo Incubator) as a medium for developing and creating new and more focused entrepreneurs. This Study aims to analyze the role of business incubation in creating new entrepreneurs for 90 tenants from Kawal Incubator and 40 tenants from Inbitek Borneo. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with the Reflective, Recursive Design and Development Model (R2D2) model. Currently, the local community (Kalsel Creative Forum) manages a business incubation run by the City of Banjarmasin, while Inbitek Borneo is managed in-house. The Study shows that Full Stack Incubation Services are needed; legal facilitation, photo product, Business Logo, Digital Marketing, Funding opportunities (Credits and Grants), and access to the market. The Funding scheme provided by the government is too rigid to match the dynamism of business incubators; it requires more flexible financing. The incubation model also determines the success of the creation of new entrepreneurs, especially in the recruitment process, selection of mentors and mentors, curriculum, and program escalation.

Abstract

Silvopasture is a land management system that combines forestry components with livestock components. A study on the analysis and development of the silvopasture agroforestry system was conducted in Bangkalan Regency, Madura in September 2022. The purpose of this study is to identify the components in silvopasture and the interactions between its components. In addition, identifying the role of silvopasture based on production and protection functions for agroforestry development is then made. The research was conducted in three stages: secondary data collection, field survey for primary data collection, and presentation of research results. The results showed that silvopasture was applied using a random mixture planting pattern that was grown in a monoculture. This agroforestry system combines the cultivation of teak, cattle, and chickens, and weeds under teak stands. The silvopasture has a role in improving soil fertility, reducing nutrient loss, increasing N availability, maintaining soil physical properties, reducing erosion hazards, creating a microclimate, reducing weed populations, and protection against plant disease pests. The development plan is prepared by taking into account the principles of productivity, sustainability, and adaptability (according to local conditions).

Abstract

Walang sangit is one of the potential pests which at certain times becomes an important pest. These pests can cause yield losses of up to 50%. It is estimated that a population of 100,000 heads per hectare can reduce yields by up to 25%. This research on the intensity of the pest attack was aimed at knowing the categories of attacks on land owned by farmers in Karangnangka Village and finding out more environmentally friendly control methods. The number of plants observed every week was selected as many as 30 points (clumps) marked by pieces of bamboo or wood with a diagonal pattern. Data collection started by counting the number of plants in one clump at each sample point, then continued by counting the number of grains in each clump, and the last data was the number of seeds that were attacked or damaged in each clump. Then increase the attack intensity calculated using the absolute attack intensity formula. Calculations show a decrease every week, with values ??of 4.84%, 5.99%, and 6.60% sorted from the first observation to the third week. The control that can be applied is the use of animals (crabs) as traps to attract pests such as stink bugs.
