Abstract

This study aims to examine Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on the concept of education as outlined in his book titled Muqaddimah. The research method used is a literature review of the primary source, the Book of Muqaddimah, supported by other sources such as journal articles, research results, and findings which are then analyzed to draw conclusions. The results of the study indicate that Ibn Khaldun paid significant attention to the field of education in addition to his expertise in sociology. In his monumental work, Muqaddimah, Ibn Khaldun elaborates on various aspects of education, including the nature of education itself, the classification of knowledge, the goals of education/teaching, effective teaching methods, stages of education, and the integration of religious knowledge with rational sciences. Ibn Khaldun refutes the dichotomy of knowledge by striving to understand revelation with the help of reason/intellect. To this day, the educational concepts formulated by Ibn Khaldun remain relevant and can be applied to the modern educational era, which emphasizes affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects. Ibn Khaldun's concept of education in the Muqaddimah encompasses these three important aspects of modern education. Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on education in the Muqaddimah have implications for modern education, as evidenced by his concepts on educational goals, teaching methods, curriculum, and educators in the Muqaddimah, which have implications for modern education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the extent of Javanese mysticism from the perspective of al-Qur’an and modern society. The type used in this study is using a qualitative approach with literature (library research). Results in this study (1) The mystic of puppetry, which is likened to a poet, is found in QS. Asy-Syu’ara/26:222-22, (2) Mysticism “sastra dan gending,” which contains philosophical symbols and allegorical or better known from the work of Sultan Agung, (3) Mystical mirror, which is figurative or metaphorical in nature, where when one worships and faces Him specifically as self-introspection, contained in Q.S. al-Isra/17:23, (4) Mystical kebatinan, which leads to “Manunggaling Kawula Gusti,” which is defined as a union between “Kaula” and “God,” this is found in Q.S. al-An’am/6:162-163, (5) Magical mysticism, which examines a world that is difficult for human knowledge to reach. Overall, contemporary society has presented diverse perspectives in implementing and interpreting aspects of Javanese mysticism. While there are individuals who are more skeptical of the practice of mysticism, others still preserve their cultural heritage and may stick to the tradition.

Abstract

Developed countries, a sexual recession has become a new trend among the community, manifested in the form of concerns about family responsibilities. The high regard for the legality of marriage by all religions is gradually shifting with the times. The institution of marriage is considered incompatible with the current lifestyle of society, especially in some non-Muslim majority developed countries. This article aims to examine and analyze how a sexual recession can occur, and what are the factors and implications of the sexual recession in the era of disruption. This research is qualitative and descriptive, collecting data through library research and observing phenomena by obtaining evidence through the internet and various social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Google, and others. The article shows that sexual recession is prevalent in some developed countries such as Japan, the United States, South Korea, China, and so on. This is due to a decline in interest in sex, marriage, and having children. Sex and religion, especially Islamic law, seem to act as constraints on individual freedom, leading to a decline in population from all aspects of life This serves as evidence that the sexual recession in some countries, especially developed ones, is heavily influenced by religious dogma and free association. Therefore, a study is needed that confronts the epistemology of religious dogma, especially when confronted with Islamic law and individual freedom within marriage.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the controversy of Ignaz Goldziher's thought and its implications for the trend of Islamic studies in the West (19-21 AD). This research is a type of library research with a focus on character studies using historical research methods. The results and discussion in this study found five thoughts of Ignaz Goldziher in Islamic studies, namely: Ignaz Goldziher’s scepticism towards the Qur’an; Ignaz Goldziher’s classification of mufassir; differentiation of the meaning of hadith and sunnah according to Ignaz Goldziher; Ignaz Goldziher’s scepticism towards hadith; and Ignaz Goldziher’s views regarding Islamic sharia law. Then, for the controversy of the implications of Ignaz Goldziher's thoughts on the development of Islamic studies trends in the 19th-21st centuries AD is the emergence of groups of supporters and opponents of his thoughts. In addition, it was also found that the implications of his thoughts not only triggered the emergence of those who supported and opposed his opinions, but also had an impact on strengthening indirectly the line of thought of the Jaringan Islam Liberal (JIL, Islamic Liberal Networks) in Indonesia.

Abstract

The article explores the harmonious and peaceful life of the multi-religious and multi-ethnic community of Labuaja Village, depicting the process of implementing a harmonious and peaceful life and the implications of such an implementation in daily practices. This study is a field research employing a descriptive qualitative approach. It utilizes a phenomenological approach and gathers data through direct observation, interviews, and documentation at the research location. Based on the data obtained, it was found that the harmonious and peaceful life of the multi-religious and multi-ethnic community of Labuaja Village can be realized due to several factors: 1) The cooperative attitude among community members is very enthusiastic in creating a harmonious and peaceful life, 2) The attitude of mutual respect and tolerance is very evident in the daily life of the Labuaja community, who do not question religion or ethnicity and build good relationships within the framework of family, brotherhood, unity, and togetherness, and 3) The attitude of caring for others is clearly seen in the involvement and participation in community activities. Furthermore, the implementation of the harmonious and peaceful life model in Labuaja Village is practiced in three environments: the family environment, the community environment, and the school environment.
