Abstract

The Nahdlatul Ulama Health Institute (LKNU), Puskesmas in the Jember Region and Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya held community service activities aimed at reducing the prevalence of stunting under five. The activity began with family assistance for pregnant women and stunting toddlers, which were attended by 112 mothers of toddlers and 40 pregnant women, and continued with nutrition education conducted by nutrition counseling with media in the form of posters, flipcharts and games. The third is the provision of nutritional intake for pregnant women and toddlers through Supplementary Food Provision (PMT), and the last is demonstration of examples of balanced nutrition for toddlers according to the principle of balanced nutrition through the use of local food ingredients. The results of the activity revealed an increase in the knowledge of pregnant women and mothers of toddlers by 47%, an increase in the attitudes of pregnant women by 4% and mothers of toddlers by 1.9%, as well as an increase in the practice behavior of pregnant women and mothers of toddlers in preparing and providing a balanced nutritional menu of local food.

Abstract

In the Magelang district, Candimulyo is well known as a durian center. During the harvest season, durian peel waste is piled up in several places. Through a portable biogas reactor, this community service attempts to use durian peel waste as an alternative energy source. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) is the methodology employed to incorporate the community's active role in the implementation of program. As a result, portable biogas innovation can be used to light a stove, in an average of 20-40 minutes.

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems, especially dental caries, are a disease that affects almost half of the world's population. The largest proportion of dental health problems in Indonesia is dental caries. The predisposing factors for dental caries are knowledge and behavior. Usaha Kesehatan Gigi Sekolah (UKGS) in elementary schools is needed in an effort to increase knowledge and awareness of dental and oral health. The problems faced by SD/MI Kartasura are that UKGS activities have not been running continuously and the lack of facilities and infrastructure to support dental and oral health programs. Solutions to increase dental and oral health knowledge for little dentists at elementary school the method of implementing activities includes identifying partner problems (surveys), making starter kits for little dentists, making educational media, training little dentists and accompanying teachers, implementing routine programs by little dentists, monitoring and evaluation. This activity is able to increase the knowledge of little dentists in maintaining dental and oral health.

Abstract

Omicron is a large family of corona viruses that can cause illness ranging from mild to severe symptoms. This severe symptom of Covid-19 will be worrying if it afflicts erderly and toddlers. Lack of knowledge about proper medication use, health precautions, and the importance of handwashing are some of the issues that exist in the community of RW 05 Kebon Jeruk. Based on the survey, it is necessary to carry out community service which aims to determine public knowledge in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, it also monitors public knowledge about the rational use of drugs and children's knowledge about the importance of keep healthy. The methods used in this program are door-to-door counseling and education, question and answer and discussion, coloring competition and socialization of little pharmacists, posyandu, morning exercise, delivery of family medicinal plants, and distribution of new normal kit packages. According to questionnaires, education, and other activities, the public's understanding of rational medicine, children's understanding of the importance of keep healthy, and the public's understanding of how to respond to the pandemic period have all increased.

Abstract

Public education on how to get, use, store, and dispose of drugs properly and correctly is still needed by the community. Many problems that occur in the community related to DAGUSIBU include choosing places that are not safe to get drugs, instructions for use that are not paid attention to, storage of drugs that are not according to instructions, and how to dispose of drugs that are not appropriate. The purpose of socialization is to provide information to students about how to get, use, store, and dispose of drugs properly and correctly. The results obtained after the socialization were the knowledge of the students about the importance of getting, using, storing, and disposing of drugs properly and correctly

Abstract

The level of dependence of older adults increases with the increase in the life expectancy of older adults in the community. The role of the community as social capital can help older adults reduce the level of dependence to the caregivers and increase the independence of older adults in living their daily activity. The low level of community understanding regarding their role in increasing the level of independence of older adults is the reason for the need for providing information by professionals. The community empowerment is carried out online using zoom media with the aim to increasing public knowledge about the role of social capital in the health of older adults. The community empowerment was attended by 545 participants and discussed 10 main topics. The results of the activity showed significant positive benefits in changing one's cognitive status. This shows that the provision of health information to the public can bring positive benefits related to understanding the role of social capital on the health status of the elderly.

Abstract

The existence of the Indonesian government's One Map Policy (OMP) demands synergy to the regions. Sumatra is one of the areas that captures this opportunity. One of the follow-up actions to this policy is regional readiness in preparing qualified human resources in the geospatial field. Sriwijaya University as one of the universities in Indonesia that focuses on developing human resources in South Sumatra, facilitates local governments in developing employee capacity. This program was carried out for 5 days to learn about the basic level Geographic Information System (GIS) for Bappeda Lahat employees. This program is carried out in 3 stages, namely identification of partner problems, training, and evaluation. This training program has a positive impact on employees in Bappeda Lahat, namely being able to make location points for regional planning with SmartGPS, making spatial shapefile data and making thematic spatial maps according to the main tasks of the job fields of employees in Bappeda Lahat.

Abstract

The lack of literacy culture in students such as reading literacy, scientific literacy, and digital literacy makes it difficult for parents to accompany students in distance learning activities at home. Therefore, this service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the literacy culture in students through the use of the Alam Kalijaga Reading House located in Nasri Hamlet, Sidogede, Grabag, Magelang. The stages of implementing this program are planning, implementation, and evaluation. The activities given are inviting children to learn together to increase their interest in reading, which begins with socializing the importance of current literacy, practicing using a laptop, and labeling plant names and their benefits. In this way, it supports students and parents in the distance learning process and the creation of a literacy culture.

Abstract

The tourism village of Kalakijo, Yogyakarta, promotes batik and traditional culinary ‘ingkung’ as its main branding strategy. To date, the marketing and promotion of Kalakijo are performed based on conventional strategies. The emergence of the pandemic in recent years further complicates the problems faced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) owners in Kalakijo. This program aimed to assist the development and application of digital marketing strategies to increase the reach of promotions and attract the interest of younger generations in batik and ingkung. Prior to program implementation, surveys and discussions with Kalakijo villagers and business owners were carried out. The programs were implemented in several steps, including strengthening brand identity, building websites, making product catalogs, and setting up e-commerce platforms. Evaluation and monitoring were also carried out regularly during the program implementation. Through this program, MSMEs in Kalakijo are able to become entity that are independent, adaptive, and competitive in the digital era.

Abstract

One of the problems that often occurs among workers is back pain. This non-ergonomic posture will also have an impact on skeletal muscle problems in the spine compared to the legs on a weight support. This community service is carried out by providing health education to banana chip MSME workers in Jakarta, totaling 30 workers. Before and after education, pretest and posttest were conducted. The purpose of this activity is to provide education to workers so as to avoid back pain. The results of the activity revealed an increase in the knowledge, attitudes and work behavior of the participants after participating health education.
