Abstract

Selayar Regency occupies the sixth position for stunting in South Sulawesi, with a prevalence of 32.1%. This problem is exacerbated by the community's limited access to information about stunting, so educational efforts are needed to disseminate stunting information presented using spatial mapping patterns. This activity aimed to develop village maps and identify high-stunting areas using spatial maps to improve the quality of community development. This map-making activity begins with data collection, and then data processing is carried out using ArcGIS software, digitization methods, and spatial analysis in the form of overlay analysis. Maps that have gone through the layout stage are then printed and submitted to the village government and health workers. The utilization of this map of strategic locations such as village offices, health centers, and local nutrition centers assesses the success of this services activity as a source of information in determining priority steps in preventing and handling stunting cases.

Before and after the training, students were given questionnaires to express their attitudes towards environmental-friendly behavior. The results of the activity show a t-test value with a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.01, indicating a difference in environmental care attitudes before and after the training. This means that sociodrama and creative works training can enhance the environmental-friendly behavior of SMPN 13 Surakarta students. The change in students' behavior persists even after the training, as evidenced by the repeated use of items such as water bottles or food containers for school meals.

Abstract

Stunting remains a pressing health concern that demands attention from all members of society. In Palembang City, the number of stunting cases has risen alarmingly from 100 in 2023 to 224. The root causes lie in limited knowledge about balanced nutrition and a tendency to consume unhealthy fast food. This community service initiative aimed to enhance awareness about the significance of adopting healthy food management practices as a strategy to combat stunting. The project employed a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, encompassing socialization, training, and mentorship. The intervention yielded remarkable results, with knowledge levels among participants increasing from 65% to 95%. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the training in empowering the community with knowledge about balanced nutrition, healthy and nutritious meals for children, and stunting prevention strategies. Furthermore, the community demonstrated creativity by developing an innovative food supplement called "SABI nuggets," made from patin fish and carrots.

Abstract

A serious problem often faced in Kelurahan 13 Ulu, involving RT 13, RT 14, RT 15, and RT 16, is waste management. The community's level of knowledge regarding waste management in this area is still low, exacerbated by a lack of supporting facilities that worsen environmental conditions. Therefore, this activity aims to address these issues by educating residents on the importance of cleanliness, proper waste separation, and utilizing waste for economic value. The method used involves preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages, including installing signs prohibiting waste dumping at various locations where waste accumulates. The positive impact of this activity includes increased awareness of cleanliness, improved understanding of waste sorting, and knowledge of its benefits. Additionally, residents are educated on the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) for waste processing, leading to a better understanding of waste management, particularly in separating organic and inorganic waste.
