Abstract

The Merapi slopes area in Sleman is a disaster-prone region that also serves as a potential destination for jeep tourism. The main challenges faced are a lack of digital promotion capacity and disaster preparedness. This community service aimed to enhance the economic independence and safety of the Merapi Jeep Community by strengthening digital promotion, implementing a Disaster Response Information System (SIMANTAB), and developing Safe Tourism SOPs. The implementation methods included socialization, training, technology application, and mentoring. Interventions encompassed digital marketing training, SIMANTAB integration, SOP development, and fulfillment of safety standards (SNI helmets). The program results showed a significant increase in partner understanding (averaging over 80%) in disaster mitigation and digital marketing aspects, as well as 88% success in developing Safe Tourism SOPs. This program impacted professionalism, tourist trust, and income potential. Program sustainability is ensured through the formation of a local master trainer team, establishing an effective collaborative model for sustainable tourism in disaster-prone areas.

Abstract

The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) faces a priority waste problem, with daily production exceeding 1000 tons. Vocational high schools (SMK) with Culinary Arts Programs contribute significantly to organic waste from practical activities. This community service program aimed to reduce waste production at the source (school level) by implementing a creative, circular economy-based project: the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots and tilapia. The methods applied included socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, and evaluation for teachers. The activity focused on training teachers to process school organic waste into BSF maggot feed, which was then utilized as feed for tilapia. The program evaluation results showed that 100% of the participating teachers understood and were able to practice the entire cultivation cycle of BSF maggots and tilapia. The teachers are also ready to disseminate this knowledge to students as a creative project. This program successfully created an effective, integrated food waste management model within the school environment.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to empower Repro Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Semarang City to process organic waste, specifically, milk protein waste from the bread industry and banana tree waste from agriculture, into poultry feed pellet products. These products are intended to support livestock food security, environmental management, and social empowerment. The problem-solving method was implemented through an applied green economy approach, engineering a series of poultry feed pellet production machines integrated with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system. The realization of this engineered technology series adheres to several technical standards and is designed with multi-feature mechanisms: coarse chopping, fine chopping, pulverizing, and pellet molding. The integration of the AI system serves as a virtual assistant to guide the partner in optimally composing the raw material mixture and simultaneously predict the resulting content based on quality parameters. This integration aims to enhance process effectiveness through improved quality outcomes while maintaining production efficiency. The results of the program realization show that the partner is able to utilize the technology effectively to independently produce poultry feed pellets at a cost of approximately IDR 5,850 per kg. Furthermore, the program's impact has demonstrated an ability to enhance self-reliance, competitiveness, environmental awareness, and business sustainability, thereby contributing to community welfare and advancing the people's economy at the MSME level.

Abstract

Coastal abrasion at Mampie Beach, West Sulawesi, poses a serious threat to community livelihoods and biodiversity. This community-based program aimed to implement Blue Economy principles by integrating eco-technology and mangrove adoption to mitigate abrasion while empowering the local community at Rumah Sahabat Penyu. The methods included the installation of 60 geobags, planting 300 Rhizophora mangrove seedlings, and training in mangrove-based soap making as a sustainable livelihood initiative. Evaluation results showed that 100% of the geobags remained intact and the mangrove survival rate reached 80% (though 20% were damaged by plastic debris, large wood, and human activities). Furthermore, 23 participants successfully learned the mangrove-based soap-making process, enhancing environmental awareness and economic resilience. This program confirms the effectiveness of combining eco-technology and community participation in coastal protection and sustainable livelihood development. Further monitoring is recommended to evaluate the long-term performance of geobags and mangrove survival during peak abrasion seasons.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower farmers through the application of biomass-based land potential sensor technology transformation in Sudimoro Village, Megaluh District, Jombang Regency. The main challenges faced by the farmers include limited knowledge regarding land potential, persistent doubts about adopting technological innovations, and low practical skills in technology-based management. The urgency of this program lies in the need to enhance the capacity of farmers to optimally manage agricultural land sustainably with the support of modern technology. The implementation method included outreach, training, field demonstrations, and intensive mentoring for ten farmer participants. Evaluation results demonstrated significant improvements: knowledge increased from 42.5% to 82%, attitudes from 55% to 86.5%, and skills from 20% to 77%. Paired sample t-test analysis confirmed that these differences were statistically significant (p < 0.001) across all three aspects. These findings prove that the sensor technology-based intervention is capable of holistically increasing farmer capacity. Thus, the program has delivered a tangible impact on the empowerment of the farming community while serving as a model for sustainable agricultural innovation that can be replicated in other rural areas.

Abstract

The traditional 'jamu gendong' (herbal medicine) business in Trasan Hamlet, Magelang, faces challenges due to low productivity and an extremely short product shelf life (only one day), which limits the welfare of its practitioners. This community service program aims to transform this traditional business through product innovation and digital market expansion. The methodology employed a participatory approach involving institutional strengthening, product diversification, and digital literacy. The results demonstrated the successful formation of the "Trajaya" Joint Business Group (KUBE) as a collective platform for vendors. The implemented technological innovation successfully converted liquid jamu into an instant powder format, which possesses a longer shelf life and higher market value. Furthermore, the integration of digital marketing through Shopee has opened national market access for these local products. The transformation from a conventional business model to one based on product innovation and digitalization has proven effective in increasing competitiveness and providing sustainable solutions for the income growth.
