Abstract

This training aimed to assist schools in improving the quality of education through the development of strategic planning. The methodology employed in this activity was carried out in three stages: 1) preparation through socialization of the activity to the community; 2) implementation through training; and 3) evaluation conducted by distributing pre-test and post-test questionnaires to measure the knowledge and skills of the partners. The results of this community service indicated the effectiveness of the training with an increase in partners' knowledge and skills scores on the post-test (96.71%) compared to the pre-test (88.56%). This demonstrates a significant difference in the level of knowledge and skills after receiving the leadership training.

Abstract

Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago with rich biodiversity, faces significant challenges in conserving endemic animals such as the Komodo dragon, Sumatran tiger, Bornean orangutan, and Javan rhinoceros. This Community Service (CS) program aimed to raise awareness and knowledge among Indonesian students abroad, particularly in Selangor, Malaysia, about the importance of conserving these animals. The program comprised four stages: a pre-test, educational sessions, a virtual tour, and a post-test. Results showed a significant increase in students' understanding, with the post-test average score reaching 85%, compared to 40% on the pre-test. The educational sessions successfully motivated students to participate in conservation efforts, demonstrating the effectiveness of the educational and participatory approach.

Abstract

The community service activity aims to provide training and marketing assistance for tape craftsmen in Banjarsari Village, Ngajum District, Malang Regency. The stages of the activity are through preparation, training and assistance, as well as monitoring and evaluation. Training is provided with product marketing materials, namely direct marketing and digital marketing (online). The results of the activity show that the training and assistance carried out are able to open up broader marketing insights and show great digital marketing potential. The target partners are very active and cooperative during the assistance. Tape craftsmen can market their products through the online platform they are interested in. The result is that many products can be ordered online through various platforms, although not yet optimal.

Abstract

This community service activity in the form of an entrepreneurship seminar was carried out as one of the stages in strengthening the resilience of disaster-resilient communities in the South Lebak area. Based on the needs analysis with stakeholders, it was found that there was a problem with the interest of the younger generation in becoming farmers. The agricultural sector, which is the main contributor to the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of Lebak Regency, has low sustainability because the young generation who are the successors of agricultural land are reluctant to become farmers and choose to work in the formal and informal sectors. The purpose of this community service is to foster a positive attitude towards agribusiness and foster entrepreneurial intentions among youth. The method used is to conduct an entrepreneurship seminar. Based on the seminar entitled "Farming is Cool", the youth in Panggarangan Village, South Lebak experienced an increase in positive perceptions about a career as a farmer. Furthermore, participants also stated that the entrepreneurship seminar conducted motivated them to work in agriculture.

Abstract

Decreased physical activity in the elderly can lead to an increase in uric acid levels. There is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis, therefore, the treatment provided can only minimize the impact of the disease and optimize health. Low impact aerobic exercise is a type of physical activity suitable for the elderly. This exercise has a low intensity and does not put pressure on the joints, making it safe for the elderly. The purpose of this community service is to reduce uric acid levels with low impact aerobic exercise as a non-pharmacological therapy in the community. This activity was carried out in the form of uric acid checks, health education about uric acid, and low impact aerobic exercise practice. Furthermore, the elderly were asked to undergo therapy at home for 4 weeks with 2 exercise sessions per week with a duration of 45 minutes each session, using a booklet guide. This activity showed success as evidenced by a decrease in uric acid levels. In addition, the results of interviews with the elderly also revealed that they rarely experienced joint pain and looked more cheerful.

Abstract

PKK is a community-based organization that involves women's participation as cadres. The role of PKK cadres is to be at the forefront of addressing community issues, both general and health-related. Cadres are the spearhead of village community development. They are equipped with various trainings to enable them to disseminate knowledge to the community. The aim of this service activity is to provide education on oral health and the benefits of black seed (habbatussauda) to PKK cadres in Wirogunan, Kartasura, Sukoharjo. The method used is through direct lectures, discussions, consultations, and screenings. The results of this program show an improvement in the cadres' knowledge of oral health.

Abstract

Indonesian people's awareness of oral health is still relatively low, as evidenced by the number of people who seek dental treatment and check-ups only when experiencing dental problems. Based on this issue, promotive and preventive efforts are needed through oral health education. The oral health status of the people in Dusun Botokan shows that many people do not have their teeth and mouths checked. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity is to improve the knowledge and healthy behaviors of the people of Dusun Botokan regarding oral health. The method used is education as a promotive and preventive effort, as well as medical services as a curative effort. The success of the activity is seen from the short-term results in the form of an increase in pre-test and post-test scores by 12.74%. Thus, this activity has succeeded in increasing the knowledge of tooth replacement detection and awareness of oral care in the community of Dusun Botokan.

Abstract

Elementary school children, aged 6 to 11 years old, are a vulnerable group susceptible to health problems. This community service activity aimed to provide education and guidance on healthy lifestyles to students at SDN 1 Bataraguru, Palabusa Village, Lea-lea District, Baubau City. The program involved a socialization session on the six steps of proper handwashing and toothbrushing, followed by practical demonstrations. The results showed an improvement in students' understanding, knowledge, and application of the six steps of handwashing and toothbrushing, which is expected to reduce health problems among children.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to improve Islamic financial literacy among students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Muhammadiyah 1 Malang City. This community service was conducted because Islamic financial literacy in Indonesia, especially among students, is still relatively low, while understanding the principles of Islamic finance is very important in order to support the rapid development of the Islamic finance industry. The method used is a workshop, where participants are given material on Islamic finance interactively. The results of this program indicate a significant increase in Islamic financial literacy among participants. In addition, as a follow-up, a joint Islamic savings account was opened for 8th-grade students, which is expected to encourage direct practice of the Islamic financial principles that have been learned.

Abstract

This service activity aims to increase women's knowledge and leadership skills in political contestation. The method used in this activity is carried out in three stages, namely 1) preparation by socializing the activity to the community, 2) implementation is carried out by means of training, and 3) evaluation is carried out by distributing pre-test and post-test questionnaires to measure the level of knowledge and skills of partners regarding the leadership training of women in political contestation that has been carried out. The results of this service show that cadres have increased their knowledge and skills regarding women's leadership training with a percentage of 93.21% in the good category. This shows that there are differences in the level of community knowledge after being given women's leadership training which is increasing.
