Jurnal Gizi dan Pangan (Journal of Nutrition and Food) merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang memuat berbagai artikel hasil penelitian dan review (atas undangan) tentang gizi dan pangan, yang terkait dengan aspek biokimia, gizi klinik, gizi masyarakat, pangan fungsional, dan sosial ekonomi serta regulasi dan informasi gizi dan pangan. Jurnal ini merupakan publikasi resmi dari Departemen Gizi Masyarakat, Fakultas Ekologi Manusia (FEMA) IPB dan PERGIZI PANGAN Indonesia yang telah terbit sejak tahun 2006. Penerbitan jurnal ini dilakukan secara teratur setahun 3 kali (bulan Maret, Juli, dan November).

The aim of this research was to observe food habit and knowledge of reproduction health of female adolescence participants and non participants of Information Centre and Counseling of Adolescence Reproduction Health (PIK-KRR) at SMU 1 Liwa and SMK 1 Liwa. Reproduction readiness in adolescence is influenced by physical readiness which is reflected from nutrition and health status and mental readiness in the form of adolescence perception about reproduction health. This research used cross sectional design. The site of the research is determined using purposive sampling. The SMU 1 Liwa was choosen because this school has PIK-KRR and most of the graduates continue their study to the higher level of education, and SMKN Liwa Lampung Barat was chosen because this school does not have PIK-KRR yet and most of the graduates do not continue their study. Spearman’s Correlation and t-test utilized to know whether there were any difference in each variable in SMU and SMK students. The results of the study show that, SMU female adolescence have better reproduction readiness than SMK female adolescence. Therefore it is important for female adolescence to get correct information about nutrition, and reproduction health through formal or informal ways.

The aim of this research was to know the food security of farmer household, based on the availibility of staple food, access to food and utilization of food of farmer household. The research design was cross-sectional study. The samples were consisted of 35 owner farmer, 12 yeoman, and 13 farmworker.Primary and secondary data was analyzed by Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 13 for windows. The result showed that 48.33% of husband and 78.33% of wife were <40 years old. As many as 66.67% ofhusbandeducationand70.00% of wife education were elementary school. Mostofthesamplewere farmers, 26.67% husband and 18.33% wife had additional work. The result showed,based on the availability of staple food, 70.00% of household catagorized as food secured. Based on the access to food, 65.00% of household catagorized as food secured, and based on the utilization of food, 56.70% of household catagorized as food secured. The conclusion of this research, 63.30% of household catagorized as food secured based on combination of three component of food security. There was a significant positive correlation (p<0.01) betwen income per household per month, family size, access to clean water, total of rice production, and the rice production distributed to household with the availability of energy per capita per day.

This study aims to analyze the policy, program, activity and budgetting of husbandry subsector in West Lampung Regency. The study was conducted retrospectively, studying documents of policy 2003-2007 in Husbandry and Animal Health Agency of West Lampung and interviewing respondents of the officials involved in the drafting of the program, decision makers, and groups of farmers from November to December 2008. Data that were required in this research, consist of primary and secondary data and was analyzed by descriptive analysis, content analysis and SWOT analysis.The results of this research showed that the formulation of policy and program had been in line with the regulation, but there were some constraints in implementing the policy and program in form of activities due to the limited budget. Budgeting allocation portion for the development food resources from husbandry for 4 years was higher than supporting activities, except in the fifth year. Implementation of husbandry sub-sector, especially cattle breeding was enthusiastically welcomed by the community indicated by their high motivation and initiatives. The environment has changed from the previous period so that the future concept will focus on the breeder empowerment and capital access and strategy by intensifying animal breeding culture, building husbandry centers and partnership with private sectors.

This research aims to analyze the local government budget policies in supporting food security dvelopment in Lampung Barat District. The design of this study is retrospective using seondary data from related institutions in Lampung Barat. To identify the share of credit and debit of local budget or APBD, a Comparative Budget Statement (CBS) is used, and to identify the budget proportion for food security oriented programs/activities, the Content Analysis method is applied. From the CBS analysis result, it is revealed that the biggest share is from Dana Alokasi Umum (DAU) or General Alloctaion Fund, accounting for 66.25% and the smallest share is from Local Original Revenue or Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD), which is only around 1.60%. The share of Development Budget is approximately 57.58%, while the share of Routine Budget is 42.42%. It is also found that the Local Budget has increased constantly during the last 5 years with the average is Rp. 304 068 008 767. From this amount, Rp24 286 406 768 or about 7.6% per annum has been allocated for food security development.

The aim of this study was to analyze the potential resources and management of fisheries during the periods of 2003–2007 at the coastal zone of West Lampung. Primary and secondary data was analyzed using SWOT. SWOT analysis is a technique used to identify various factors systematically in order to formulate a management strategy. The result showed that the total score for internal factor (strengths-weaknesses) was 0.23 and the total score for external factor was -0.32 (opportunities-threats); which placed the fisheries management at the coastal zone of West Lampung regency in the second quadrant position. The priority of alternative strategy carried out for optimum and sustainable fisheries management was to develop aquaculture (fresh water and estuary), to resolve conflicts of interest on natural resources used at the coastal zone of West Lampung, and to improve the involvement of formal and non formal institutions in implementing environment friendly efforts as well as in resolving environmental degradation problems.

The problem in education especially in junior high school is low quality of education, caused by several factors such as social and economic situations. The purpose of the research was to study: 1) food and nutrition knowledge of the students; 2) food habit of the students; 3) ability to prepare traditional food of West Lampung; 4) nutritional status of students; 5) process of teaching and learning; and 6) Parent’s support. The research was conducted at junior high school in Sukau in West Lampung Regency. The research used cluster random sampling technique, one class (VIII A) was chosen as control group and another (VIII C) as treatment group. There were significant differences between control and treatment class respectively: 1) the score of food and nutrition knowledge 12.89 and 15.03; 2) the score of food habit 30.65 and 37.74; 3) the level of preparing traditional food 24.03 and 27.56; 4) the process of teaching learning 34.39 and 38.90; and 5) parent’s support 78.16 and 97.61.

The objectives of this research were: 1) to analyze household characteristics in Village Ulu Krui and Village Laay; 2) to analyze knowledge, attitude and pratices of household in water using; 3) to analyze the chemical charactistic of water; and 4) to analyze relation between knowledge and river water usage. The research design is cross sectional. Data was collected by interviewing respondents. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inference statistics. Twenty nine housewife in Village Ulu Krui and twenty housewife in Village Laay were participated as respondents. Results of this research found that the average of family member was four people. Husband age was ranged from twentyfive to seventy three years old. The average of the husband age was fourty four years old. The wife age were range from twenty one to seventy three years old. The average of the wife age was fourty years old. The modus of education of husband was elementry school. The modus of occupation of husband was farmer and farmworker. The level of knowledge in river water usage was low, the level of attitude was moderate, the level of pratices using the river water was good.

Repong is a forest management system which inherently conducted by community in Lampung Barat Coast. The objective of this research were to analyze: 1) household socio economic characteristics, 2) household food access, 3) household food security, 4) socio economic factors that influence household food security. This research was conducted by using retrospective design. The location was in Penengahan Village, Karya Penggawa Subdistrict, Lampung Barat District that chosen purposively with consideration that the village is the main village producing resin. The samples were 30 households who own repong and 30 households who do not own repong that chosen snowbally. The result of the research shows that: 1) almost all (93.3%) household who own repong work as farmer, while half of household who do not own repong work as farmer (46.67%), service (40%), and trading (13.33%); 2) there is 30% of household who own repong and 36.7% of household who do not own repong that have low food access; 3) only 33.33% of household who own repong and 23.33% household who do not own repong are food secure; 4) factors that significantly influence energy consumption level are number of household member, size of repong, and food expenditure; factors that significantly influence protein consumption are number of household member and food expenditure; factors that significantly influence consumption diversity are number of household member and size of repong.

The limitation in both human and natural resources lead the Local Government of West Lampung to make a priority in budget allocation. The study was aimed to: 1) identify the policy, programs, and activities related to food security at each government institution,2) evaluate the performance among related institution in food security program and activities implementation, and 3) to develop recommendation for food security program and activities improvement. Secondary data were used to address the mentioned objectives. Role of each institution in food security improvement have been defined including the budget allocation. Content analysis from the regional strategic plan shows that there were programs and activities for each sector directed to improve food and nutrition security. However parts of the written plan haven’t been implemented yet. Performance analysis from those which have been implemented indicates that most of the program and activities were achieving the target. Rice production exceeded the target, infrastructure improved, and food prices stable. Intake of animal food and tubers are lower than nutrition norms of desirable dietary pattern (PPH). The prevalence of under-nutrition was considered low.

The objectives of this research were to know correlation and influence of agricultural extension characteristic to their comprehension about main duty and function and their knowledge about food security. This research was conducted in West Lampung District, using cross sectional design. The method of analysis was descriptive and inferential. There were 58.9% respondents who have a good knowledge of their main duties and about 68.5% respondents who have knowledge about food security. Education and facilities lead to positive correlation with comprehension for knowledge about food security. But in the contrary it was proved that field of expertise and instruction experiences have negative correlation with knowledge for agricultural extension main duties. The other result is that main duties and function of agriculture extension had significant correlation with knowledge of food security, especially for food consumption.
