Abstract

Kanker merupakan suatu penyakit tidak menular yang prevalensinya semakin meningkat. Kanker adalah suatu pertumbunan maligna yang selnya memiliki sifat-sifat : replikasi terus menerus, hilangnya kontak penghambatan, invasif and kemampuannya untuk menyebar, jika tidak ditangani maka akan menjadi fatal. Faktor lingkungan merupakan penyebab kejadian kanker sebesar 80 - 85 %, sedangkan sekitar 10 -15 % disebabkan oleh kesalahan replikasi dan genetika. Diyakini pula sepertiga dari semua kanker berhubungan dengan diet. World Cancer Research Fund dan American Institute for Cancer Research pada tahun 2007 menerbitkan "Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity, and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global Perspective". Di sana terdapat 8 rekomendasi dan 2 rekomendasi khusus guna mencegah dan mengendalikan penyakit kanker di dunia. Aktivitas antitumor yang dimiliki berbagai bahan pangan sangat berguna dalam upaya menurunkan kesempatan pengembangan kanker. Nutraceutical tersebut dapat efektif mencegah penyakit kanker jika dikonsumsi sebagai makanan bukan suplemen.Kata Kunci: kanker, nutrisi, aktivitas fisik, makanan, dan nutraceutikal

Abstract

Lesi kista payudara tidak hanya memberikan rasa tidak nyaman, tetapi kista jenis tertentu dapat meningkatkan risiko kanker payudara. Mengonsumsi makanan/minuman yang mengandung antioksidan, seperti likopen di tomat dan oryzanol serta tokoferol di bekatul padi, dianjurkan untuk mencegah kanker. Tujuan penelitian adalah mempelajari pengaruh intervensi jus tomat dan minuman bekatul terhadap kista payudara. Rancangan penelitian adalah studi eksperimental. Penelitian dilakukan di Rumah Sakit “Dharmais” pada Juni 2009 sampai dengan April 2010. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelompok, yaitu 10 wanita non-kista dan 10 wanita kista. Selama dua minggu, setiap harinya subyek mengonsumsi 480 ml/hari jus tomat dan dua minggu berikutnya mengonsumsi minuman bekatul (30 g/hari). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar likopen plasma meningkat secara nyata pada kelompok non-kista maupun kista setelah mengonsumsi jus tomat, sedangkan kadar ?-tokoferol plasma setelah mengonsumsi minuman bekatul menurun secara nyata pada kelompok kista, tetapi tidak nyata pada kelompok non-kista. Aktivitas antioksidan total plasma dengan uji DPPH tidak mengalami perubahan yang nyata, baik setelah mengonsumsi jus tomat maupun minuman bekatul. Ukuran lesi kista payudara kanan dan kiri tidak berbeda nyata antara sebelum dan setelah intervensi jus tomat. Setelah intervensi minuman bekatul ukuran lesi kista payudara kiri tidak berbeda nyata dengan sebelum intervensi, tetapi pada payudara kanan, ukuran lesi kista mengecil secara nyata (p<0,05), yaitu dari 11,4 +6,2 mm menjadi 8,06 + 5,37 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan minuman tinggi antioksidan jus tomat dan minuman bekatul kelihatannya memberikan manfaat terhadap pengecilan ukuran lesi kista payudara.Kata kunci: kista payudara, ?-tokoferol, bekatul, likopen, jus tomat, aktivitas antioksidan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor risiko kanker payudara pada pasien kanker payudara wanita di Rumah Sakit Kanker “Dharmais” (RSKD). Penelitian ini bersifat observasional analitik dengan desain Hospital Based Case Control Study. Contoh dalam penelitian ini terbagi dalam dua kelompok, 24 orang kelompok kasus dan 24 orang kelompok kontrol. Analisis bivariat dilakukan dengan analisis Chi-Square dan analisis tabel 2 x 2. Analisis multivariat dilakukan dengan analisis regresi logistik berganda. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara usia, status gizi, pengetahuan gizi, konsumsi makanan berlemak, konsumsi sayur, konsumsi buah, riwayat kanker payudara pada keluarga, usia menstruasi pertama, lama menyusui, lama menggunakan alat kontrasepsi hormonal, lama melakukan aktivitas fisik, dan perokok pasif terhadap kejadian kanker payudara. Berdasarkan analisis bivariat, tinggi konsumsi makanan diawetkan dan dibakar berisiko 9,308 kali terkena kanker payudara (OR=9,308 dengan 95% CI: 1,778-48,723) dibandingkan dengan rendah konsumsi makanan diawetkan dan dibakar. Berdasarkan analisis multivariat, tidak ada variabel yang berpengaruh terhadap kejadian kanker payudara.Kata kunci: kanker payudara, faktor risiko

Abstract

ABSTRACTFatty liver is a term applied to wide spectrum of conditions characterized hispatologically by trigliseride accumulation within the cytoplasm of hepatocytes which is examined using ultrasound. This study was aimed to identify the risk factors affecting fatty liver in the patients with breast cancer on ultrasound examination at Dharmais Cancer Hospital Jakarta. The design was a cross sectional study with 70 subjects, consisted of 37 fatty liver subjects and 33 normal subjects. The result showed that risk factors of fatty liver in patient with breast cancer were overweight and obesity (Body Mass Index ≥25 kg/m2) (OR : 5.5, 95%CI : 1.881 – 16.243) and high frequency of dietary fat (OR: 3.8, 95%CI : 1.084– 13.445). ABSTRAKPerlemakan hati merupakan akumulasi asam lemak dalam bentuk trigliserida di dalam sitoplasma hepatosit yang diperiksa dengan menggunakan alat ultrasonografi.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor risiko yang berpengaruh terhadap kejadian perlemakan hati pada pasien kanker payudara dengan pemeriksaan ultrasonografi di Rumah Sakit Kanker “Dharmais”, Jakarta. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional study, dengan subjek penelitianberjumlah 70 orang yang terdiri dari 37 contoh perlemakan hati dan 33 contoh normal. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor risiko perlemakan hati pada pasien kanker payudara adalah kegemukan (overweight dan obes, Indeks Massa Tubuh ≥ 25 kg/m2) (OR=5.5, 95%CI : 1.881 – 16.243) dan tingginya frekuensi konsumsi makanan berlemak (OR=3.8, 95%CI : 1.084 – 13.455)

Abstract

Kelor is one of the vegetables with high nutrients contents but haven’t been widely utilized. Adding kelor leaves flour to the crackers made with catfish flour to increase protein and minerals is one way to maximize the potential of its nutrient content. This research purposed to develop the formulation of crackers by adding kelor leaves flour and catfish dumbo flour as a food source of protein and minerals. Kelor leaves flour obtained from this research contains protein, calcium, iron, and zinc respectively for 23.25%, 640.5 mg/100g, 30.6 mg/100g, and 6.65 mg/100g. The best formula chosen from organoleptic was is crackers with the addition 10% catfish dumbo flour and 2.5 g kelor leaves flour. The crackers contain 11.50% protein, 30.73 mg/100g calcium, 8.56 mg/100g iron, and 609.70 mg/100g zinc respectively. Selected crackers contain more than 20% protein and more than 15% of iron and zinc standart for 2-5 years old children group based on nutrition label reference (ALG, for Indonesian), so it can be claimed as a food source of protein, iron and zinc.

Abstract

Background : Rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) is an anthocyanin-rich plant that has good antioxidant capacity. However, the utilization was limited to red roselle, while previous studies showed that anthocyanin content was found to be higher in the thick roselle.therefore, this is an opportunity to develop purple roselle products as a preventive effort for degenerative diseases in men with fatness. Subjects in this study were male by considering the effect of estrogen on women which could play a role in suppressing oxidative stress.Objectives : This study aimed to analyze antioxidant (SOD/Superoxide dismutase) and oxidative status (MDA/malondialdehyde) level in obese adult men after administration of purple rosela drinks. Methods : This study was quasi-experimental with pre-post test. Eighteen obese subjects in the security unit were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group and control group. Intervention group (n = 9) was given purple rosela drinkin the amount of 480 mL/day, while the control group (n = 9) was given an equivalent amount of purple rosela drink without rosela. The subjects were daily administered for 6 weeks. Characteristic, anthropometric, food consumption and blood sample data were collected at the beginning and end of the intervention. Data analysis was performed by descriptively, paired t-test, independent t-test, ANCOVA.Results : The analysis showed that purple rosela drink tend to increase SOD levels (0.45 ± 0.14; 1.35 ± 0.71; p-value = 0.008) but this value was not significantly different from the control group (p-value = 0.128). MDA levels did not significantly different between the intervention and control groups (0.025 ± 0.083;-0.125 ± 0.60; p-value = 0.473).Conclusion : These results showed that administering 480 ml of purple rosela drink did not improve antioxidant and oxidative status in obese adult men.

Abstract

Background: One of the important minerals for growth is calcium to build new bone. Moringa oleifera has been known as high nutritional content and bioactive compound tree that could act as antioxidant and improved several diseases like diabetes, arthritis, cardiovascular. Phytochemical analyses have shown that Moringa oleifera contain of high macro minerals like calcium, potasium, magnesium, and phosphor. Several previous studies have shown that mineral nanoparticle have higher bioavailability than natural compounds.. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of moringa oleifera nanoparticle leaf on mineral serum and bone at growth stage of Sprague Dawley male rats. Methods: In this study, the pre and post controlled group design and complete random design was used. The subjects were 27 growing male Sprague dawley rats aged 2 month were devided into three group which received standard feed contain CaCO3 (control group), intervention feed contained 450nm and 750nm nano Moringa oleifera for 60 days. The data of the experiment was analyzed by paired T-test and Duncan test at 95% confidence level.Results: The result showed that there was no significance different for both of intervention group for mineral serum and fermur bone. While for the tibia bone, the result showed that the calcium, phosphor and magnesium were significantly increase (p<0.05). The intervention group received 450nm showed more effective improvement of magnesium level (p<0.05) than intervention group received 750nm.Conclusion: The intervention of moringa oleifera nanoparticle leaf had a positive effect in decreasing serum and bone mineral levels in male rats. There were significant increased at magnesium level measured in tibia bones after intervention, with higher increasing at group received 450nm nanoparticle.
