Abstract

The premium motorcycle industry in Indonesia is shifting from a functional market to a high-involvement lifestyle sector. In this competitive landscape, BMW Motorrad Indonesia dominates with its Adventure (GS) series, but this success has created an internal strategic imbalance where the adventure image heavily overshadows the sport segment. Consequently, the flagship sport lineup (S1000RR and M1000RR) suffers from low top-of-mind awareness and internal cannibalization, despite possessing superior product technology and global brand heritage. This study adopts a qualitative-descriptive approach to formulate a new Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategy. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with key internal stakeholders (General Manager, Sales, and Marketing) and in-depth interviews with ten external respondents from the target market. The data were analyzed using strategic frameworks including VRIO, Porter’s Five Forces, and SWOT for internal diagnostics, while external consumer insights were processed using NVIVO thematic analysis to identify behavioral drivers. Based on the analysis, this study designs an "Active Digital & Physical Visibility" strategy to disrupt market perception and prioritize brand awareness. The proposed strategy integrates four key components: Visual Decoupling to separate the sport identity from the adventure series; an Influencer Partnership Program to penetrate social algorithms with lifestyle content; Mobile M-Gallery showcases for organic street awareness; and Open Riding Invasions to utilize social proof. This structured IMC plan serves as a roadmap to increase the brand awareness of the sport bike lineup.

Abstract

The adoption of digital technologies in agricultural service operations is often assessed through operational or technical performance outcomes, while their implications for business model innovation remain underexplored. This study examines how agricultural drone adoption enables business model innovation in spraying and fertilization services, focusing on managerial interpretation and organizational reconfiguration rather than performance measurement. Using a qualitative single-case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with managerial and operational personnel, supported by organizational documents. The analysis is guided by the Business Model Navigator framework, examining changes across the Who–What–How–Why dimensions and interpreting business model innovation as an incremental process. The findings indicate that agricultural drone adoption initially emerged as a response to operational challenges such as labor scarcity, execution speed, and monitoring limitations. Over time, continued use of drone technology prompted managerial reframing, leading to gradual adjustments in value creation, service transparency, and operational control. Rather than resulting in radical transformation, drone adoption supported incremental business model reconfiguration by layering technology-enabled coordination and data utilization onto existing service structures. The study highlights that the strategic value of agricultural drones lies not only in operational support, but also in their capacity to reshape managerial decision-making and service logic through business model alignment. These findings contribute to the business model innovation literature by demonstrating how digital technologies can function as strategic triggers for incremental business model change in service-based agricultural contexts.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic and tightening global macroeconomic conditions have put significant pressure on digital platform companies following the initial public offering (IPO), including PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk. Despite recording high transaction and user growth, the company still faces challenges in achieving sustainable financial profitability. This study aims to analyze the determinants of GoTo's financial profitability in the post-IPO period by reviewing the role of internal organizational factors and external market factors. The research uses an explanatory quantitative approach with quarterly time-series data for the period 2018–2025. Profitability is measured through return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). The analysis was carried out using time-series regression with the Augmented Dickey–Fuller stationarity test and Newey–West robust estimation. The results show that internal organizational factors, especially operational efficiency reflected in the EBITDA margin, have a significant effect on ROA. In contrast, external factors such as the level of competition, business confidence, inflation, and economic growth did not show a significant influence on ROE in the short term. These findings confirm that GoTo's post-IPO profitability is determined more by the quality of internal execution than external market conditions. This research provides strategic implications for digital platform companies in managing the transition from growth-oriented to financial sustainability.

Abstract

Port management organizations face performance optimization challenges that require strategic human resource interventions. This quantitative research examines the influences of job rotation and teamwork on employee performance within the Indonesian port industry context. Employing census sampling of 123 employees at PT PCM—a regional government-owned port enterprise in Cilegon—data were collected through validated questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Findings reveal that job rotation demonstrates significant positive effects on performance (, ), indicating that systematic position changes enhance employee competencies and adaptability. Teamwork exhibits a positive but non-significant relationship with performance (, ), suggesting that collaborative processes require additional mediating factors to translate into performance gains. The combined variables explain 62.6% of performance variance (), confirming the substantial contribution of human resource development strategies. This research contributes empirical evidence supporting job rotation as an effective performance enhancement mechanism in port management contexts, while revealing the complexity of teamwork that requires deeper investigation. Practical implications emphasize the implementation of strategic rotation programs and the examination of team effectiveness factors for optimizing port industry workforce performance. Study limitations include the single-organization focus and cross-sectional design, suggesting the need for longitudinal and multi-site investigations to enable broader generalization.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the digital economy has transformed Indonesia’s modest fashion retail landscape. While e-commerce provides convenience and market access, it creates a sensory gap—consumers’ inability to touch, feel, or try products before purchase. For SMEs like Aldiva, this heightens perceived risk, causing purchase hesitation and cart abandonment. Despite dual physical and digital channels, Aldiva’s operations remain siloed, failing to support customer webrooming (online search, offline purchase) due to inventory disconnections and misalignment. This study identifies internal/external drivers of Aldiva’s performance, assesses readiness, and formulates an integrated O2O strategy to bridge the sensory gap: a case study of Aldiva. Using a qualitative explanatory sequential single case study design grounded in the stimulus–organism–response (S–O–R) framework, data came from semi-structured interviews with management and digitally active consumers, revealing operational silos and manual inventory as key hindrances amid rising webrooming opportunities. Aldiva holds high asset value via physical stores but low operational readiness. The proposed integrated online-to-offline (O2O) commerce strategy features real-time inventory integration, incentive alignment, and a secure click-and-collect (pick-up and fit) model. This positions stores as experience hubs, reduces risk, and builds sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

Indonesia's tropical forests play a crucial role in global climate regulation, yet they continue to face deforestation and degradation pressures. The REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) mechanism, supported by initiatives such as the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility – Carbon Fund (FCPF-CF), has been introduced to link forest conservation with local welfare improvement. This study examines the effectiveness of REDD+ implementation through FCPF-CF on welfare in Teluk Sulaiman. It investigates shifts in tree coverage, villager involvement, and changes in household income and employment. We combined several methods to gather data: interviews with 150 household leaders, in-depth discussions with key stakeholders, and reviews of existing project records. Results suggest that forest loss dropped by 23% over five years, while average household earnings rose by 7%, thanks to new employment options such as beekeeping and ecotourism. Still, several hurdles emerged, including uneven benefits across groups, poor intersectoral coordination, and low skill levels within communities. The research concludes that carbon projects work best when stakeholders are included from the start, benefits are shared transparently, and local capacities are continuously strengthened.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is motivated by the technological gap in the development of the Elang Hitam Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which has yet to fully comply with the military certification standard STANAG-4671. The objective of this research is to formulate a strategy to accelerate the national UAV development process through the integration of autonomous subsystems and military airworthiness certification. Employing a library research method, this study applies content analysis to recent scholarly literature, technical reports, and official documentation of the Elang Hitam program. Data were systematically examined to identify patterns of system integration and conformity with international standards. The findings reveal that synergy among industry, research institutions, and regulators serves as the primary factor driving the acceleration of national UAV certification and the foundation for advancing Indonesia's technological independence in aerospace defense. In conclusion, achieving operational readiness for Elang Hitam requires a harmonized approach that concurrently advances technological innovation and institutional certification frameworks. The study underscores that the establishment of a coordinated national airworthiness governance system is essential for aligning UAV development with global standards, thereby enhancing Indonesia’s strategic autonomy and interoperability in the global defense landscape.

Abstract
