Abstract

Adverbs that express certainty in Japanese are often difficult for Indonesian learners due to the lack of equivalent references. The adverbs are kitto, kanarazu, zehi, and zettaini. This contrastive analysis research will discuss the equivalence of Japanese certainty adverbs with Indonesian adverbs that use the words certain, sure, and undoubtedly with semantic studies. In addition, it will be investigated what matching phenomena occur between the meanings of the two languages. This type of research is expected to help Japanese learners to better understand the meaning of adverbs that express certainty. The results of this study show that kitto, kanarazu, zehi, and zettaini can be paired with Indonesian adverbs pasti, tentu, and undoubtedly. Kitto can be paired with certain, kanarazu can be paired with certain, zehi, can be paired with certain, and zettai ni can be paired with certain.

Abstract

This research was prompted by students challenges in comprehending the usage of Ni and De particles, which, despite conveying similar meanings, serve distinct functions. The objective of this study is to assess the proficiency in employing Ni and De particles among students in the Japanese Language Education class of 2021 at Universitas Negeri Padang. The research methodology employed is quantitative, utilizing descriptive research methods. The study’s population consists of 53 individuals, with the sample size selected through purposive sampling from the JPG 1 class of 2021, totaling 27 participants. The data for this study were derived from scores on the Ni and De particle proficiency tests administered to students in the Japanese Language Education program. Based on the findings of this research, the following conclusions can be drawn as follows. Firstly, the overall proficiency in using Ni and De particles among the class of 2021 at Universitas Negeri Padang’s Japanese Language Education Study Program falls within the “Well” qualification, with an average score of 64.8. Secondly, the proficiency in using Ni particles is categorized as “Good,” with an average score of 73.3. Thirdly, the proficiency in using De particles among students is deemed “Sufficient,” with an average score of 57.4.

Abstract

The research is motivated by student’s low mastery of hiragana chon and yon as well as difficulties in differentiating sounds in Japanese vocabulary. The aim of this research is to describe the mastery of hiragana choon and yoon of students entering the 2022 Japanese Language Education Study Program, Padang State University. Type of research used in the research this is a descriptive quantitative research. The population in this research is all students entering the 2022 Japanese Language Education Study Program, Padang State University, totaling 54 people. The sample in this research is students entering the 2022 Japanese Language Education Study Program, Padang State University, totaling 30 people. Samplin in this study used the Random Sampling technique. The data in this study were the result of the hiragana chon and yon mastery tests for students entering the 2022 Japanese Language Education Study Program, Padang State University. The instruments used in this study were multiple choice objective tests and short-fill tests. The research conducted can be concluded that the mastery of hiragana chon and yon as a whole for students entering 2022 Japanese Language Education Study Program, Padang State University’s qualifications are quite good with an average score of 68.

Abstract

 Based Yokata (2007:140) meirei hyougen is when the speaker wishing an action or condition from listener.This study discusses the form and use of meirei hyougen related to speech acts contained in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans in the second series of episodes 15-20. This research belongs to the type of qualitative research with descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study are conversations of characters containing meirei hyougen in the Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans anime, the data source in this study is the Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans anime in the second series of episodes 15-20. The instrument in this research is the researcher himself. in this study 66 meirei hyougen data were found, namely; 33 using verbs and command forms, 1 form (o~ kudasai), 1 form (~meizaru), 24 descriptive forms, and 7 forms (~kudasai, ~tekure, o~negaimasu from irai hyougen). But, there are also those that are not found namely; form (~nasai), form (~koto/~youni), form (~tamae). After finding the formation of meirei hyougen, we also found the factors behind its use through SPAKING theory. From 66 data, the factors that cause the use of meirei hyougen using SPEAKING theory are analyzed, including Setting/Scene, Participant, Ends, Act, Key, Instrumentalities, Norm and Genre.

Abstract

Gairaigo is one of the lessons found in Japanese language learning. The difference in the form of writing gairaigo is divided into two types, first phonology in which there is complete absorption and the second morphology in which there is incomplete absorption makes Japanese language learning a lot of mistakes. This research focuses on the form and causes of gairaigo writing errors. The theory used in this research is the analysis of error forms from Kawarazaki (2004) and Tsujimura (2000) and the theory of the causes of errors from Pateda (in Qur'aini, 2018). The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was conducted on students of UNP Laboratory Development High School class XII MIPA 3 using a research instrument in the form of a written test.  There are two forms of gairaigo errors. First, phonological errors are full absorption gairaigo, the most errors are found in question number 5 at 58% occurring in the writing of consonant vocabulary [p] plus vowel [u] while the least error is found in question number 1 at 8% occurring in the writing of double consonants [-ed]. Second, morphological errors are incomplete absorption, the most errors are found in question number 19 by 72% occurring in the writing of single or basic laxem contractions while the least errors are found in question number 18 by 30% occurring in the writing of compositional or combined laxem contractions. And for the causes of errors found there are 4 namely, popular opinion, interference / mother tongue, environment and habits.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulty that students face in understanding the use of "Tsuyoi" and "Joubu," which have similar meanings but different nuances in Japanese sentences. The aim of this study is to determine the proficiency of "Tsuyoi" and "Joubu" among students who entered the Japanese Language Education Program at Universitas Negeri Padang in 2021. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, using numerical data in the form of scores. The population consisted of 53 students who entered the Japanese Language Education Program at Universitas Negeri Padang in 2021. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. The data collected for this study were the scores from tests assessing the students' proficiency in using "Tsuyoi" and "Joubu." Based on the results of the conducted research, the following conclusions can be drawn. Firstly, the overall proficiency in using "Tsuyoi" and "Joubu" is categorized as 'insufficient,' with an average score of 53.54. Secondly, in terms of Tsuyoi proficiency, students are able to correctly place "Tsuyoi" in Japanese sentences, qualifying as "sufficient" with an average score of 56.08. Thirdly, in terms of Joubu proficiency, students' ability to correctly place "Joubu" in Japanese sentences is categorized as "insufficient," with an average score of 53.54.

Abstract

The writing discussed analysis function of dake in manga Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge. The writer chose the title due to the lack of explanation of those words in Japanese books, therefore there were still many mistakes in using dake. In Sutedi (2018), Dake had 12 functions  in the sentence, but only 4 function were found in this study. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The function of dake shows limitations, levels, habits, and affirmation  of another.

Abstract

Aizuchi merupakan respon pendek atau ekspresi dalam bahasa Jepang untuk menanggapi ujaran penutur saat komunikasi sedang berlangsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan aizuchi berupa bentuk dan fungsi aizuchi sesuai dengan konteks penggunaan yang tepat. Penelitian ini menggunakan kajian pragmatik dengan sumber data berupa tayangan anime yang berjudul Do It Youself karya Koyubito Beru. Teori yang digunakan dalam menganalisis bentuk aizuchi yaitu teori Sakamoto dan fungsi aizuchi yaitu teori Horiguchi. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menggunakan teori Dell Hymes untuk menganalisis konteks tutur berdasarkan peristiwa tutur yang terjadi pada anime Do It Yourself sebagai sumber data penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil data keseluruhan pada penelitian ini ditemukan 51 data. 30 data bentuk aizuchi dan 21 fungsi aizuchi . Dari data bentuk aizuchi , sebanyak 15 data menggunakan aizuchishi yang terbagi shuujoshi 2 data, kantanshi 2 data, soukei 2 data, dan outoushi 2 data. Untuk bagian aizuchi teki na hyougen yaitu : fukushi 2 data, keiyoushi 2 data, dan doushi 2 data. Kemudian data yang berupa fungsi aizuchi terdapat sebanyak 21 data yang menggunakan kiiteiru no shingou 2 data, rikai shiteiru shingou 5 data, doui no shingou 2 data, hitei no shingou 4 data, dan kansei no hyoushutsu 1 data.

Abstract

This study is motivated by obstacles of students who tend to memorize vocabulary using romaji letters without seeing the letters. Memorize vocabulary using letters without looking at the hiragana letters. Hiragana and forget the hiragana learned previously, because the learning media previously used has not made students interested in remembering hiragana. The selection and use of media in learning needs to condition, students’ needs, and in according with the development of technology.  Based on this research, the researchers will use one of the media technology related to educational media, namely a media platform called wordwall.  The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of wordwall media on hiragana learning outcomes and students’ responses to use wordwall media. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research that uses a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample was a X MIPA 2 class students SMAS Adabiah Padang which amounted to 36 students. The results showed that the test result with paired sample t-test test significant value in the column sig. (2tailed) is 0,000, this is smaller than the significance level of 0,05. Thus, H0 is rejected  which means that wordwall media has a impact on the student’s hiragana learning outcomes in class X MIPA SMAS Adabiah Padang. Then the results of questionnaire data regarding students  responses to the application of wordwall media in learning hiragana shows an average value of 87. This mean that there is a significant effect of using  wordwall media on hiragana learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh asumsi adanya pengaruh media gambar terhadap kemampuan membuat teks transaksional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan media gambar terhadap penguasaan teks transaksional siswa SMA PGRI 2 Padang. Jenis peneltian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA PGRI 2 Padang yang berjumlah 60 dan pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik total sampling yang berjumlah 30 orang untuk kelas kontrol dan 30 orang untuk kelas eksperimen. Data penelitian ini adalah nilai tes kemampuan memahami teks transaksional siswa kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes tujuan pada teks transaksional berdasarkan indikator. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan diketahui beberapa hal berikut. Pertama, kemampuan memahami teks transaksional siswa SMA PGRI 2 Padang tanpa menggunakan media gambar berada pada penguasaan 66-75% dengan kualifikasi Lebih dari Cukup (LdC) dengan perolehan rata-rata 71,2. Kedua, kemampuan memahami teks transaksional siswa SMA PGRI 2 Padang dengan menggunakan media gambar berada pada penguasaan 76-85% dengan kualifikasi Baik (B) dengan perolehan rata-rata 81,73. Ketiga, penggunaan media gambar memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan memahami teks transaksional siswa SMA PGRI 2 Padang. Hasil uji normalitas dan homogenitas menunjukkan data normal dan homogen sehingga analisis menggunakan uji parametik. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil uji-t yang disimpulkan bahwa H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak pada taraf signifikan 95% dengan dk = n-1 karena α > sig (0,05 > 0,001). Oleh karena itu, gambar media berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan memahami teks transaksional Siswa SMA PGRI 2 Padang
