Abstract

Quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) are essential to maintaining the quality of radiology services. Providing optimal healthcare requires professionalism and skillful work. To achieve accurate diagnoses, high-quality radiographic images are necessary, and artifacts are a common issue in computed radiography (CR). At PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital, artifacts are frequently observed in CR images, necessitating an investigation into the contributing factors. This research aims to identify the causes of artifacts and determine the percentage of artifacts in CR images at PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital. The study design is qualitative and descriptive. Data collection involves direct observation of existing artifact issues. Once the problems are identified, the data is analyzed on the computer based on the factors contributing to the artifacts. The data obtained is further reinforced through interviews. The data range used for the study is from September 2022 to November 2022. The research results indicate that operator errors, issues with the imaging plate, exposure factors, and the use of grids are the primary causes of artifacts in radiology images. The percentage of artifacts during the three-month period averaged 6.7%, exceeding the limit set by KMK 2008. To reduce artifacts, it is recommended to provide training for operators to enhance their skills, ensure proper patient preparation, perform routine maintenance on imaging plates and radiology systems, and pay attention to the appropriate use of grids. Continuous evaluation of radiology image acquisition is also crucial to improving the quality of healthcare services at PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital.

Abstract

The lopographic examination procedure according to Bontrager, et al., (2014), Ballinger (2012), and Mulyati and Walidaeni (2019) uses Antero Posterior (AP), Lateral, Right Posterior Oblique (RPO), and Left Posterior Oblique (LPO) projections. Contrast media according to Bontrager, et al., (2014) and Kundagluwar, et al., (2016) barium sulfate, while at RSPAU dr. S. Hardjolukito AP and lateral projection, water soluble contrast media. This study aims to determine the procedure for lopographic examination in cases of rectal ca, the reasons for using water soluble contrast media and the reasons for using AP and lateral projections. This research is a qualitative descriptive case study approach at the Radiology Installation of RSPAU dr. S. Hardjolukito. Data collection starts from December 2022 to July 2023. Data collection is carried out by observation, documentation, interviews and literature. The research subjects were three radiographers and one radiologist. Data analysis namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the lopographic examination procedure for cases of rectal cavities began with special preparations the day before the examination on a low-fiber diet, administration and fasting. Preparation of non-sterile and sterile materials, water soluble contrast media. Insert contrast media through the anus and stoma. The examination technique is BNO plain photo, AP post-contrast and Lateral post-contrast. The reason is that water soluble contrast media is easily absorbed by the body, easily excreted, and safe to use. The reason why the AP projection can see the entire colon is so that it can measure the distance from the tip of the rectum to the stoma. Lateral projection looks at the distance between the superior and inferior colon ends to be connected. It is recommended that a lopographic examination use a two-day low-fiber diet preparation, use fluoroscopy, colostomy equipment, and add RPO and LPO projections to see the flexures in order to increase the diagnostic value.

Abstract

The radiographic examination technique of the Thoracolumbar Vertebrae with scoliosis cases consists of right and left bending Anterior posterior (AP), Lateral, and Anterior Posterior (AP) projections, as well as the addition of the Ferguson method and fulcrum projection. The procedure for scoliosis examination at radiology installation in RSUD (Regional Hospital) Karanganyar is unknown, so it is necessary to do research to find out the examination procedure and the effectiveness of using these projections. This study aims to determine the procedure for radiographic examination of thoracolumbar vertebrae with clinical scoliosis at the Radiology Installation of RSUD Karanganyar. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The data collection method included observing scoliosis examination which included preparation of tools and materials, patient preparation, and examination techniques, then reinforced by interviews with radiographers and doctors to find out the procedures and reasons for using these projections. The results of observations and interviews were analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation, then conclusions were drawn. The results of the study showed that the thoracolumbar vertebrae examination procedure with clinical scoliosis in Radiology Installation of RSUD Karanganyar used the AP and Lateral projection technique. The reason for using AP and Lateral projections was because these projections served as initial screening for scoliosis patients and could already establish a diagnosis. Both projections provided a smaller dose of radiation received by the patient and were in accordance with the request of the sending doctor. It is advisable for further examination of the thoracolumbar vertebrae with clinical scoliosis add the right and left bending projections and Ferguson, because it aims to provide information that cannot be seen from the AP and lateral projections.

Abstract

The efficiency of the power generated by the solar panel will decrease as the temperature increases above the standart test conditions temperature on the surface of the solar panel. The decrease will reach 0.45% for every 10C increase. Cooling is required to prevent a drastic increase in temperature on the surface of the solar panel. Passive cooling using phase change materials is often used in an effort to keep the temperature of solar panels from getting too high. Based on this background, this study aims to analyze the effect of phase change paraffin material on an alumunium backsheet decreasing temperature and increasing the output power of solar panels. In this study, data collection used direct experimental methods with data analysis using quantitative and qualitative models. The results showed that the paraffin phase change material placed on an aluminum backsheet can reduce the temperature of the solar panel by 2.07% and increase the power output of the solar panel by 1.85%.
