Aksara merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Batanghari dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal penelitian yang mempublikasikan artikel hasil penelitian asli, studi kepustakaan, dan tulisan terkait dengan fokus pada kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, kajian bahasa dan kajian sastra. Semua artikel ditinjau oleh 4 orang reviewer, 2 orang reviewer internal dan 2 orang reviewer eksternal. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam satu tahun setiap bulan April dan bulan September, jurnal aksara ini dapat diakses pembaca, jurnal aksara ini berisi hasil penelitian pustaka maupun hasil penelitian lapangan. Jurnal ini meliputi beberapa ranah Ilmu sebagai berikut: 1. Kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia meliputi bidang pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa, pembelajaran linguistik, pembelajaran semantik, pembelajaran pragmatik, pembelajaran wacana, pembelajaran sosiolinguistik, pembelajaran psikolinguistik serta pembelajaran puisi, pembelajaran prosa, pembelajaran fiksi, pembelajaran drama. 2. Kajian Bahasa Indonesia meliputi: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, semantik, pragmatik, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, bahasa dan budaya, dialektologi, dokumentasi bahasa, serta bidang keilmuan lain yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan. 3. Kajian Sastra Indonesia meliputi: sastra lisan dan sastra modern berupa kajian puisi, prosa fiksi dan drama.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the types of themes in the novel Anak Rantau by A. Fuadi. This study aims to describe the types of themes in the novel by using Shipley's theory. This research is a qualitative descriptive. The data in this research are in the form of quotations relating to aspects of the types of themes in the Anak Rantau novel by A. Fuadi. In collecting the data, documentation technique is used. The result of this research is a description of the types of themes in the novel Anak Rantau by A. Fuadi (content analysis). The types of themes include physical themes, organic themes, social themes, egoistic themes, and divine themes, each of which has its own section.

Abstract

This research aims at describing the noun phrase which is occured in students’ observation report of X MIPA 7 class at SMA Negeri 1 Jambi city academic year 2020/2021 which consisted of modifying, coordinating, and opposite noun phrase. This research is qualitative descriptive which means a research which describes particular event with words or the situation of the subject which appears in certain environment or situation. From the results of the research, it can be described that there are three kinds of noun phrase occured in students’ observation report, they are; modifying, coordinating, and opposite noun phrase. There are 63 types of modifying noun phrase and 21 types of coordinating noun phrase. Opposite noun phrase does not found in their observation report. The most dominant noun phrase occured is modifying noun phrase and the less is opposite noun phrase. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the phrase which are occured in students’ observation report of X MIPA 7 class of SMA Negeri 1 Jambi city academic year 2020/2021 are modifying, coordinating, and opposite noun phrase.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe reduplication form in Selamat Tinggal novel by Tere Liye. This research includes a type of qualitative descriptive research described in findings in the form of quotes contained in Selamat Tinggal novel by Tere Liye. In this research, the data is taken from quotes containing the entire form of reduplication, partial reduplication, reduplication with the affixation and reduplication derived from phoneme changes. This type of qualitative descriptive research is a step to describe the use of reduplication in this novel. The results of this research can be concluded that four forms of reduplication use are found in the Selamat Tinggal novel by Tere Liye. Of the findings of 110 quotations based on the four uses of the form of redulication in the novel, the most dominant is the form of reduplication combined with the process of establishing the affix found as many as 51 quotations and the less one is redulication with phoneme changes amount to 7 quotations. While the total reduation was found as many as 36 citations and partial reduplication was found as many as 12 quotations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the character education of the main characters in the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi with 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan based on the moral comparison of the characters. This research covers the character education of the main characters in the two novels, namely the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi with 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan. The qualitative descriptive method used in this research is to describe the educational values of the characters contained in the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi and the novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan. From the results of the analysis of the two novels, it can be concluded that there are 13 similarities in the value of character education as depicted by the characters and the storyline. The values of character education include religious values, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, independence, curiosity, national spirit, love for the homeland, respect for achievement, friendship/communication, love of reading, social care, and responsibility. The character education obtained between the characters in the first novel and the second novel has 4 differences, namely creative, democratic, peace-loving, environmental-loving values.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the value of ethics in the book collection of Jambi Folklore 2 by Kaslani which refers to the ethics of human relations with society consisting of help each other,  compassion, grace, and responsibility. This research includes a type of descriptive research that is qualitative. The primary data in this research is in the form of written data in the form of sentences, words, and paragraphs in the form of dialogues and monologues that are integrated in the book collection of Jambi Folklore 2, while the secondary data is in the form of books and literature taken from libraries where theories are interconnected with this research. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the ethical value contained in the book collection of Jambi Folklore 2 is studied in terms of human relations with society which includes the ethics of helping each other, compassion, grace, and responsibility where all this is strengthened also by exposure to dialogue and monologues. Moreover, there are 88 expressions occured in this book, namely 15 expressions of helping each other, 17 expressions of compassions, 35 expressions of grace, 21 expressions of  responsibility.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the improvement of teachers’ ability in compiling RPP. RPP is one of the learning administrations that must be made by teachers, including during normal and new normal (covid-19) times. Various kinds of efforts made by the teachers in compiling RPP, but there are still many teachers who make RPP the same as in normal times. Some teachers understand how to use RPP's compiling guidelines, but not a few teachers who only copy other people's RPP so that there is no difference between RPP in normal times and in the new normal (covid-19). This research was conducted to find out whether the sustainable academic supervision program can improve the ability of teachers of SMP Negeri 5 Airgegas in compiling RPP for the new normal period. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 5 Airgegas as many as 2 cycles. The results showed an improvement in the ability of teachers in compiling RPP. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of a sustainable academic supervision program at SMP Negeri 5 Airgegas can improve the ability of teachers in compiling RPP for the new normal period. This can be seen by the average value of the teachers ability in compiling a prescient RPP of 75.99, cycle 1 of 76.58 and cycle 2 of 80.01. In other words, the improvement of the teachers  ability in compiling new normal RPP at SMP Negeri 5 Airgegas from precycle 2 is 4.02.

Abstract

This research was motivated by finding moral values in Tere Liye's Selena Novel. This study aims to describe the moral values of Selena in Tere Liye's Selena Novel. This research uses descriptive, qualitative methods, namely describing moral values. This research data is in the form of findings related to five aspects of moral values including; help each other, politeness, obedient, self-control and trust contained in selena’s character. The data  are analyzed based on the existing theories in the literature study that the author makes as the theoretical basis in analyzing this research. This type of qualitative descriptive research is used as a way to describe the moral value contained in Selena in Tere Liye's Selena Novel. The results of this research can be described by the author that Selena's character contains moral values from aspects of moral values including; help each other, politeness, obedient, self-control and trust. The number of findings used as data in the form of quotations about moral values is as many as 52 citations. From the results of this study, it can be described that Selena's novel by Tere Liye contains moral values that can be used as reading material for the community as well as learning materials in schools.

Abstract

Directive speech in religious talks is often used. Directive speech found such as inviting, commanding, and advising. Therefore, this study aims to describe the types and meanings of directive speech in the Islam Itu Indah religious talk in the first week of August 2021 with pragmatic study. The research methods used are qualitative descriptive and data collection techniques are carried out by recording, note-taking, and transcription technique. The data in this research is in the form of speech spoken by ustaz and the host in the Islamic religious talk Islam Itu Indah. The data is in the form of speech included in the action of directive speech.  The data is analyzed by using pragmatic analysis technique. Based on the results of the analysis conducted, it can be concluded that there are two related data, namely type and meaning. The types of directive act found are requests, questions, orders, prohibitions, granting permission, and advice. The meaning of the directive action found is the meaning of ordering, commanding, pleading, advising, and recommending. The type of directive speech that is widely used in Islamic religious talk Islam Itu Indah is question and the least used is granting permission. While the meaning of the action of directive speech that is widely used in Islamic religious talk Islam Itu Indah is the meaning of begging and the least used is the meaning of ordering.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of social criticism contained in the 2018 PEKSIMINAS monologue text, namely Aeng, Balada Sumarah, Tolong, and Prodo Imitatio. This research includes a type of qualitative descriptive research. The data is collected in the form of quotes related to the form of social criticism, including poverty, crime, family disorganization, the problem of the younger generation, and bureaucracy. Next the data tabulated into the data tabulation table. The next step is to analyze the data that has been collected in accordance with the study of literature that researchers use and a literary sociology approach so that researchers can describe this research data. With qualitative descriptive research, researcher can describe social criticism in a collection of PEKSIMINAS 2018 monologue texts. The results show that in the text of the Aeng monologue by Putu Wijaya and Ballad Sumarah  by Tentrem Lestari found social criticism of poverty, crime, disorganization of the family, the problem of the younger generation, and bureaucracy. From the monologue Tolong by N. Riantiarno was found social criticism about poverty, crime, disorganization of the family, bureaucracy. Moreover the social criticism regarding the problem of the younger generation was not found. Furthermore, the monologue text of the Prodo Imitatio by Arthur S. Nalan was found social criticism of poverty, crime, the problem of the younger generation, bureaucracy and social critics regarding family disorganization was not found. Of the four monologue texts the most prominent social criticism is social criticism of crime.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the changes in Longsér based on its development, and how the process of inheriting Longsér is carried out by the Sunda Kiwari Theater. In the show, Longser is delivered in the local language, namely Sundanese which tells about everyday life. The Longsér group that has been known is the Panca Warna group. This study uses a qualitative approach with analytical descriptive method. The data collection technique is based on the results of observations and interviews with the Sunda Kiwari theater. The traditional Longsér theater performance by Teater Sunda Kiwari has been transformed into a more modern form according to the demands of the market and the wishes of the people. Based on the six aspects studied, almost all aspects of the structure underwent a transformation, such as changes using text/scripts, director intervention, and a more modern stage setting.
