Aksara merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Batanghari dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal penelitian yang mempublikasikan artikel hasil penelitian asli, studi kepustakaan, dan tulisan terkait dengan fokus pada kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, kajian bahasa dan kajian sastra. Semua artikel ditinjau oleh 4 orang reviewer, 2 orang reviewer internal dan 2 orang reviewer eksternal. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam satu tahun setiap bulan April dan bulan September, jurnal aksara ini dapat diakses pembaca, jurnal aksara ini berisi hasil penelitian pustaka maupun hasil penelitian lapangan. Jurnal ini meliputi beberapa ranah Ilmu sebagai berikut: 1. Kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia meliputi bidang pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa, pembelajaran linguistik, pembelajaran semantik, pembelajaran pragmatik, pembelajaran wacana, pembelajaran sosiolinguistik, pembelajaran psikolinguistik serta pembelajaran puisi, pembelajaran prosa, pembelajaran fiksi, pembelajaran drama. 2. Kajian Bahasa Indonesia meliputi: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, semantik, pragmatik, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, bahasa dan budaya, dialektologi, dokumentasi bahasa, serta bidang keilmuan lain yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan. 3. Kajian Sastra Indonesia meliputi: sastra lisan dan sastra modern berupa kajian puisi, prosa fiksi dan drama.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the level of validity of teaching materials, lecturers' perceptions of teaching materials, and the level of effectiveness of teaching materials for Indonesian language learning in universities based on the outdoor media developed. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Economics, Batanghari University, Jambi, located in Jambi City. This research was conducted for 6 months, starting from April 2024 to September 2024. The object of the study was students of the Faculty of Economics, Even Semester, Batanghari University, Jambi, Academic Year 2023/2024. This study uses qualitative and quantitative research. The type of research is research and development in the field of education because it is used to develop and validate products in the field of learning that refer to the principles and steps of research and development put forward by Walter R. Borg and Gall (1983.775). Based on the table obtained, it can be concluded that learning by utilizing outdoor media can increase student activity and effectiveness in learning, statistical data on the t-test and the research results data table show that there is an increase in learning outcomes using outdoor media. The results of media expert data on the product were found to be 96%. This figure is included in the very good qualification and does not need to be revised. Furthermore, from the data from the material expert results, it was found that the figure was 97.5%. This figure is included in the very good qualification and does not need to be revised. Meanwhile, from the data from the responses of media experts, material experts, and lecturers' perceptions of the product, it was found that the figures were 96%, 97.5%, and 92.5%. This figure is included in the very good qualification and does not need to be revised.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the representation of the September 30, 1965 Movement tragedy in the novels Kubah and Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data consisting of words, sentences, and discourses containing references to the September 30, 1965 tragedy, sourced from Kubah (2013) and Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk (2015). Data collection was conducted using the observation-reading-note technique, and analysis was carried out through content analysis using heuristic and hermeneutic reading methods, interpreted through the lens of New Historicism theory. The findings reveal that: (1) Kubah and Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk highlight the September 30, 1965 Movement as a central theme, (2) the protagonists in both novels are individuals who became victims of the September 30, 1965 events, (3) the involvement of the protagonists in the Communist Party of Indonesia (PKI) was influenced by the strong presence of PKI cadres within society, and (4) the suppression of the September 30, 1965 Movement by the New Order government resulted in numerous casualties, not only among those involved with or sympathetic to the PKI but also among those who were completely uninformed about the party.

Abstract

This research describes the value of character education contained in the cartoon film Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge on The Run Full Movie on YouTube. Apart from that, this research aims to complete the final assignment in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program, Department of Language and Arts Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Batanghari University, Jambi. This research is in the form of qualitative descriptive research. Descriptive research is to describe the research objectives. The qualitative approach is used as a technique to describe data analysis not in the form of numbers but in the form of words. The results of this research illustrate the value of character education which consists of 5 aspects. The value aspect of character education is honesty, 32 quotation data were found, 12 quotation data were found to be friendly, 5 quotation data were found for love of peace, 4 quotation data were found for social care and 6 quotation data were found for responsibility. From the results of this research, it was found that the most dominant data was honest attitude. Honesty is a character education value that must be inherent in humans.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe Indonesian language errors in the field of syntax in descriptive text. This research aims to determine the types of syntactic errors, especially at the phrase and sentence level, which often occur in language use, both orally and in writing. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were class VII E students of SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta, the subjects of this research were the parties who were the targets for data collection. The research object is a sentence that contains syntactic errors. The data collected is in the form of phrases and sentences in descriptive text. The data source in this research is written documents, namely descriptive text essays from class VII E students at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta. Next, the data was validated using triangulation techniques and informant review through interactive analysis which consisted of four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation and document study. Based on the research results that have been analyzed, the types of errors found include two errors, namely: (1) errors in the use of phrases. 21 (54%) errors include the use of non-standard words, ineffective phrase construction, and repetition of meaning which causes inaccuracies in delivery. information and (2) errors in sentence usage 18 (46%). These errors include the use of ineffective sentence structures, inappropriate use of conjunctions, repetition of meaning, and inappropriate use of punctuation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of the PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) method on students' learning motivation and lecture outcomes in the Indonesian Language course. The PQ4R method is a learning strategy that combines various stages of information processing with the aim of improving understanding and retention of the material studied. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups of students: the experimental group that receives treatment using the PQ4R method and the control group that uses the conventional method. The sample of this study consisted of 60 students, who were randomly selected from the first-semester student population at a university. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires to measure learning motivation and learning outcome tests developed by researchers. Data analysis was carried out using statistical analysis techniques, namely t-tests to compare motivation and learning outcomes between the two groups. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of learning motivation and learning outcomes. The group of students who used the PQ4R method showed a higher increase in learning motivation compared to the control group. In addition, the results of the experimental group lectures were also significantly better than the control group, which indicates the effectiveness of the PQ4R method in improving the understanding and retention of lecture materials. The conclusion of this study is that the PQ4R method has a positive influence on student motivation and learning outcomes in Indonesian Language courses. The implications of this study show that the application of the PQ4R method can be an effective alternative learning strategy to improve the quality of learning in higher education, especially in courses that require in-depth understanding and high material retention. Further research is suggested to explore the application of this method to other courses and with a more diverse population.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the development process of contextual-based learning textbook on the subject morphology process that is valid, practical, and effective. The type of the research is Research and Development/ R&D with 4-D research model that starts with defining step, designing, and then developing. This research uses quantitative approach. The data type of this research is quantitative data that consist of three types of data which are data validated by expert, data from practitioner’s assessments, and effectiveness data in form of learning results and student’s activities. Research result shows that contextual-based textbook on morphology that is being developed is valid, practical, and effective. This could be seen in the validity of the textbook with a score of 91,95 which falls into very valid criteria. The practicality of lecturer’s textbook is very practical with a score of 95 and the practicality of student’s textbook is 80,53 which fall into the criteria of very practical. The effectiveness of textbook, which consists of student’s learning results have average classical of 75,42 which is qualified as Good (B) and the activities of students got a score of 89,52 with classification very active.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the values of local wisdom and intrinsic elements in Serang folklore books by studying oral literature. The method used in the analysis is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection tehniques namely listening techniques and note taking techniques. The data found was ethical values, aesthetic values, religious values, social values. Then intrinsic elements as building blocks, data themes, data plots, data character and characterizations, data backgrounds, data points of view, data morals.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the types of metaphors used by Kompas.com news media in reporting the Indonesian presidential election in 2024. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The approach used in this research is the concept of metaphor of Lakoff and Johnson. The data sources in this research are news articles on the 2024 presidential election published in Kompas.com media from September 5 to November 10, 2023. The objects of this research are phrases, clauses, and sentences in the 2024 presidential election political news that contain metaphors. The data collection techniques used in this research are documentation, listening, and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this research uses descriptive analysis technique and content analysis to find out the meaning of language contained in the object of research. The results show that there are 9 (nine) data that use metaphors with details (2) two data use structural metaphors, (2) two data using orientation metaphor, and 5 (five) data using ontological metaphor. Kompas.com media tends to use ontological metaphors in the coverage of the 2024 presidential election discourse from September 5 to November 20, 2023.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the character of the protagonist Bang Jar in the novel Lelaki Laut by Alamsyah, M. Dja'far. It was carried out with the aim of describing the character of the protagonist Bang Jar in the novel Lelaki Laut by Almsyah, M. Dja'far. This research is classified in the field of literature. The field of literary science is a field of science that researchers are currently studying. The research methodology used as a step in conducting this research is a type of qualitative descriptive research. Furthermore, through this type of research the researcher can describe the character of the character Bang Jar as the protagonist in this novel. This research data is in the form of quotes related to the good character of the character Bang Jar in this novel. The data source is a very important part in a study. From the results of this research, researchers can describe that the character Bang Jar has the character of a good character or protagonist. This is proven by the findings of quotes relating to the generous aspect of 3 quotes, honest 16, humble 10. defender 4, clever 13, clever 11, independent 5, and loyal friend 9. From all aspects of this character's character, 71 can be collected. a quote that illustrates that the character Bang Jar in this story has a good character who can be used as a role model for novel readers. From all the quotation data, it can be seen that the honest aspect is the dominant aspect found in the research. Meanwhile, the aspect that was found the least was the independent aspect with 5 quotation data.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to look at the process of development and eligibility of the LKPD Curriculum Merdeka with the help of the application iSpring Suite 10 in grade VII of the State 27 Fields. The stages of data collection and problem analysis, product design, design development, design validation, design modification, and product testing on respondents are the research and development methodologies used in this research. This stage is based on the Borg and Gall techniques. Based on validation findings from media and material specialists, qualifying calculations are made using the Likert scale. The result of this study is that the Student Worksheet (LKPD) product has been implemented on news text material in class VII with a credibility percentage of 87% of the material experts and belongs to the highly qualified category, the credibility score according to the media experts is 92% and belows in the most qualifying category. So it can be concluded that the LKPD development product on news text material is suitable for use as additional teaching material in schools, especially class VII SMP.
