Buana Komunikasi (Jurnal Penelitian dan Studi Ilmu Komunikasi) is a scientific journal published by the Sangga Buana YPKP Social and Political Science Study Program with p-ISSN 2774-2342,e-ISSN 2774-2202 published 2 times and 1 year (June-December). The articles published have gone through the review process of the reviewers, which are related to communication science. The articles that are published can also be in the form of scientific ideas, theoretical and conceptual studies, as well as practical applications from both academics or practitioners in the field of communication. The scope of the Buana Communications Journal includes: Interpersonal Communication, Public Communication, Organizational Communication, Mass communication, Political Communication, Cultural Communication, Communication Ethics, and Religious communication.

Abstract

Bencana yang disebabkan oleh perubahan iklim merupakan bukti nyata dari masalah antara manusia dan alam yang tengah terjadi. Manusia memiliki peran dalam terjadinya perubahan iklim sehingga selain menjadi aktor juga menjadi korban. Gerakan-gerakan sosial telah dilakukan oleh komunitas untuk mengajak masyarakat beradaptasi dan melakukan tindakan mitigasi untuk mengatasi perubahan iklim. Salah satu komunitas yang aktif dalam gerakan tersebut adalah Generasi Cerdas Iklim (GCI). Penelitian ini bertujuan ingin melihat dan mengkaji implementasi gerakan sosial yang dilakukan oleh GCI melalui kaca mata karakter bertauhid. Penelitian kualitatif yang mengolah data dengan teknik komparatif konstan ini menemukan bahwa gerakan sosial komunitas perubahan iklim yang dilakukan oleh Komunitas Generasi Cerdas Iklim mengimplementasikan beberapa karakter bertauhid yakni partisipatif, kreatif, kapasitas dan local wisdom.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the communication pattern of Persib Bandung supporter members who are members of the Viking Persib Club group. The method used in this research is qualitative research method, through descriptive analysis approach by borrowing Josefh A. Devito's communication pattern structure theory, research data obtained through interviews, observation, and literature study. The results showed that the communication pattern established among members of Viking Persib Club used bintang communication pattern, a pattern where all members have the same position and power to influence other members, meaning that all members can place themselves both as communicators and communicants to provide opportunities for all members to participate actively. The successful application of the bintang communication pattern fosters a sense of solidarity and loyalty that is quite high among the members of the group known as “bobotoh”. However, communication barriers are still found but more due to the individual members' understanding of the message conveyed and disturbances that affect the media when the message is delivered.

Abstract

Media massa online saat ini menjadi wahana informasi dan pembentukan opini publik paling utama melalui pembingkaian informasi dalam berita. Selain perannya itu, di lingkup daerah, keberadaan media berbasis digital ini juga bisa dijadikan mitra bagi pemerintah setempat dalam menginformasikan berbagai kegiatan, kebijakan atau isu yang dipandang penting untuk diinformasikan dan disebarluaskan secara segera dan serentak kepada khalayak seluas-luasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara media online Antaranews.com dan Detik.com dalam menyusun berita terkait kegiatan peresmian monumen Titik Nol Cianjur Selatan. Penelitian memakai paradigma kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis framing model Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki. Objek penelitian adalah berita di media online Antaranews.com dan Detik.com. Hasilnya, ada kesamaan pada unsur sintaksis, skrip, dan retoris yang meliputi elemen berita, narasumber, pernyataan, latar informasi, dan grafis atau foto dalam berita yang dipilih dan disajikan. Sementara terkait tema ada perbedaan dalam aspek sudut pandang berita yang disajikan, Antaranews.com memilih “pesta rakyat” untuk mengesankan kemeriahan dan ingar bingar yang diikuti semua elemen masyarakat, sementara Detik.com menonjolkan “keseriusan” untuk menunjukkan sikap dari pemangku kebijakan berkaitan dengan rencana pemekaran Cianjur Selatan sebagai calon daerah otonomi baru di kemudian hari.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dalam berbagai sektor menjadi salah satu tantangan dalam publikasi kegiatan Gerakan Pemuda Islam Indonesia Putri Jawa Barat (GPII Putri Jabar). Sehingga dalam menjalankan program kerja yang direncanakan dalam Musyawarah Kerja harus menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat terutama kebutuhan dalam mencari informasi dan aktualisasi diri. Adapun media sosial yang menjadi platform utama dalam publikasi kegiatan GPII Putri adalah Media Sosial Instagram. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini, GPII Putri Jawa Barat menggunakan komunikasi publik dengan memperhatikan empat faktor; mengenali sasaran komunikasi, pemilihan media komunikasi, pengkajian tujuan pesan komunikasi dan peranan komunikator dalam komunikasi sehingga tujuan strategi komunikasi dapat tercapai dengan cara menerapkan tujuan to secure understanding, to establish acceptance, to motivate action sehingga publikasi berbagai pesan melalu media Instagram dapat tersampaikan secara efektif.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 outbreak, the Indonesian government implemented several policies to handle and prevent the spread of the disease. One of the policies launched is to shift face-to-face services in universities towards implementing online academic services. The Mechanical Engineering Study Program implements the Telegram group feature as a social media for academic service processes. This research aims to understand how communication patterns have changed during the pandemic and post-pandemic period in telegram group media use analyzed from the uses and gratifications theory in the Mechanical Engineering Study Program at Jember University. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research methodology. Research data was collected by observing Telegram groups, interviews, and distributing questionnaires to students using Telegram groups. The results of this research state that there has been a change in communication patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic using the telegram group media from previously being conducted face-to-face. After the pandemic passed, even though there was adaptation to changes in communication patterns, students had other choices in using media. Not every student felt that the telegram group media was effective based on their communication needs.

Abstract

Intrapersonal communication, which refers to an individual's internal process of understanding oneself, values, and identity, has undergone a significant transformation on social media. Digital identity is becoming increasingly important in shaping self-perception and social interactions, but it also creates pressure to maintain a perfect image. Social media facilitates deep self-reflection, managing emotions, and identity development. However, the risk of unhealthy social comparisons and online harassment also exists. Individual strategies and collective efforts of social media platforms are needed to promote healthy and responsible use. Various social media features such as blogging, creating creative content, joining online groups, attending webinars, and using private messaging features, can be used to implement intrapersonal communication. Tips include setting clear goals, choosing the right platform, and being authentic. Thus, a better understanding of the impact and application of intrapersonal communication via social media is important in the ever-evolving digital era.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine "The Role of Interpersonal Communication in the Game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (Case Study on the Luminous Antapani Team)". The purpose of this research is to find out the role of communication, the role of certain symbols and why use symbols to communicate with fellow teams. The method in this research is qualitative with a case study type. The data collection techniques used were direct observation at the research location, conducting in-depth interviews with informants and carrying out documentation. In this research, 5 members of the Luminous team, 1 key informant and 4 additional informants. Using Symbolic Interaction Theory, developed by George Herbert Mead (1910), there are several components of communication, namely symbols and meaning, social interaction and the learning process.

Abstract

In the 2023 film Hachiko, emotions are stirred by the devotion of a dog named Ba Tong to Mr. Chen. The story of animal and human loyalty is told in the 2023 Chinese film Hachiko, which is an adaptation of the original Japanese film. Based on this phenomenon, a qualitative descriptive study approach was used to find out how the semiotic analysis of the film Hachiko 2023 is seen from the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth in the film. This research uses the theory of Roland Barthes (1915–1980) which divides semiotics into two categories, namely denotation and connotation. Barthes also utilized this theory to analyze myths. The findings of this research, which include definitions of denotation, connotation, and myth, evaluate the loyalty that fellow living beings such as Tuan Chen and Ba Tong have.
