Abstract

Manual stripping of coconut fibers is still widely done by farmers in Margarahayu Village, Muara Telang District, Banyuasin Regency, which causes low work efficiency and high labor requirements. This study aims to design a coconut fiber peeling machine with a Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach to better suit user needs and be able to increase productivity. This research uses a quantitative approach with instruments such as observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and literature studies. Data analysis techniques were carried out by compiling a House of Quality to determine the priority of consumer attributes and translating them into machine technical specifications. Based on the QFD method, consumers want five main requirement attributes, and the attribute that becomes the top priority in the design process is the ease of use by the operator with a contribution value of 3.873. In addition, the design of this machine is proven to significantly increase productivity when compared to manual or traditional methods that still use wedge tools.

Abstract

This study explores the addressing system in Tetum Dili, a prominent variety of the Tetum language spoken in Timor-Leste. Grounded in sociolinguistic and cultural-linguistic frameworks, the research investigates how forms of address reflect social relationships, cultural norms, and communicative values within Timorese society. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with native speakers, autoethnographic reflection, and analysis of naturally occurring speech in public events such as wedding ceremonies. The findings reveal that Tetum Dili employs a rich repertoire of address terms, including those based on kinship, honorifics, borrowed forms from Portuguese and Indonesian, and even culturally embedded disrespectful terms used in both friendly and conflictual contexts. These address forms serve as powerful markers of social status, intimacy, respect, and cultural identity. The study underscores the importance of address systems in understanding language use in multicultural and postcolonial contexts, and it advocates for further documentation to support language preservation and education

Abstract

The Effect of the Effectiveness of the Implementation of PSBB in Central Jakarta on Community Productivity. This research was conducted to see the effectiveness of PSBB implementation on the productivity of the people of Central Jakarta. The variables studied were the effectiveness variable (X) and the productivity variable (Y). This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. Furthermore, the sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique with 100 respondents. The results showed that effectiveness had an effect on the productivity of the people of Central Jakarta. Based on this, it is recommended that all the general public and especially Central Jakarta should increase their knowledge about COVID-19 and how to prevent it, so that daily activities are safer and positive numbers can be minimized and remain productive even during the PSBB period

Abstract

This study aims to identify the needs and challenges of English language learning as a key component of musical communication in the internationally recognized context of angklung and bamboo music. The needs analysis focuses on four themes: contextual musical needs, challenges specific to the music context, psychosocial influences, and relevant teaching strategies. The study employs a qualitative case study design using purposive sampling. Data were collected through three techniques: interviews with three music lecturers based on their expertise, classroom observations, and analysis of relevant documents. The data were analyzed using a six-stage qualitative analysis process. The findings reveal that current English instruction is not fully contextualized or applicable to the communicative needs of music, both spoken and written. Key challenges include limited academic writing skills and the insufficient integration of traditional music vocabulary with English. Student-related internal factors, such as lack of discipline and responsibility, also hinder the learning process. However, learning strategies that are engaging and aligned with musical practice can enhance students' English proficiency. Future research should focus more specifically on angklung and bamboo music contexts, including the development of appropriate teaching methods, standardized interactive angklung templates, and a glossary of traditional music terms with accurate English equivalents.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a global health problem with a steadily increasing prevalence, including in Indonesia. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) 2021 reported that Indonesia ranks fifth worldwide with approximately 19.5 million people living with DM, projected to exceed 28 million by 2045. This situation highlights blood glucose testing as a key indicator for both diagnosis and therapy monitoring. Validation of measurement methods, either Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) or chemistry analyzer as the laboratory standard, is required to ensure result reliability before clinical implementation. This study aimed to evaluate the precision, agreement, and linear relationship between POCT and chemistry analyzer in random blood glucose testing of patients with type 2 DM. An experimental comparative design was conducted on 30 patients at Mokoyurli General Hospital, Central Sulawesi. Each blood sample was analyzed using both methods with three repetitions. The results showed mean %CV values of 0.83% for POCT and 0.26% for chemistry analyzer, both within the acceptable precision threshold (<2%). Bland–Altman analysis revealed a bias of –14.36 mg/dL with LoA ranging from –33.28 to 4.56 mg/dL. Pearson correlation demonstrated a very strong linear relationship (r = 0.985; p<0.001), while Lin’s CCC of 0.86 indicated moderate agreement. Linear regression identified constant bias (–12.08) and proportional bias (slope 0.95), with POCT consistently reporting lower values, particularly at higher glucose concentrations.Chemistry analyzer exhibited superior precision compared to POCT. Nevertheless, POCT provides clinically acceptable performance for rapid screening, though results at critical values should be confirmed using standard laboratory methods
