Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing wireless security protocols WPA2-PSK and WPA3-SAE on handover performance in 5 GHz networks. Efficient handover is crucial to maintaining seamless connectivity and quality of service in WiFi networks, especially on the 5 GHz frequency band widely used for high bandwidth applications. The research method involves testing and measuring handover performance parameters such as handover latency, connection handover success rate, and signal stability for both security protocols. The analysis results indicate that although WPA3-SAE offers significant security improvements compared to WPA2-PSK, there are differences in handover performance that need to be considered. WPA3-SAE tends to cause slightly higher handover latency due to its more complex authentication process but still provides good connection stability. Conversely, WPA2-PSK show lower handover latency but with a lower level of security. These findings provide important insights for network administrators in selecting a security protocol that balances security needs and handover performance to optimize user experience on 5 GHz networks.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Livable House Priority Program in East Kalimantan Province as a strategic effort to address the problem of inadequate housing and support sustainable regional development. As part of the provincial government’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities the Livable House program aims to reduce the number of uninhabitable houses by providing decent, safe, and healthy housing for low-income families. The initiative integrates corporate social responsibility (CSR) through collaboration between the government and private companies operating in the region, aligning with the mandate of East Kalimantan Governor Regulation No. 27/2021. This research adopts a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), and document analysis. The study focuses on three priority regions: Bontang City, Berau Regency, and Paser Regency. Findings indicate that while the program has made tangible progress in reducing uninhabitable housing and improving settlement environments, its implementation is hindered by limited corporate participation, logistical and administrative challenges, and inconsistent regional policy enforcement. The role of the private sector remains suboptimal, often due to unclear implementation guidelines, shifting political commitments, and lack of incentives. Despite these obstacles, the Livable House program has demonstrated significant potential in contributing to poverty reduction, improving social welfare, and promoting stakeholder synergy. However, to ensure long-term sustainability and scalability, the study recommends enhancing intersectoral collaboration, strengthening regulatory frameworks, fostering corporate engagement, and adopting adaptive policy models. This research contributes to public policy discourse by offering insights into the dynamics of decentralized policy implementation, highlighting the importance of collaborative governance in addressing complex social issues in developing regions.

Abstract

The Mamasa Subwatershed in Indonesia faces significant challenges due to soil degradation, characterized by high erosion and sedimentation rates, leading to nutrient and economic losses. This study analyzes the impact of these issues on nutrient loss and associated economic costs, focusing on nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). Sediment samples were collected from upstream, middle, and downstream areas, revealing that the upstream region experiences the highest sedimentation (6,716.21 tons/ha/year) and nutrient losses (94.02 kg N, 12.63 kg P, and 22.16 kg K per hectare annually). Economic losses due to nutrient depletion, calculated using the replacement cost of fertilizers, are estimated at IDR 4.5 billion annually for subsidized fertilizers and IDR 23.7 billion for non-subsidized fertilizers. Key contributing factors include steep slopes (25-45% and >45%), shifting cultivation, and inadequate conservation practices. This degradation significantly impacts soil fertility, reducing agricultural productivity and imposing financial burdens on farmers. The study highlights the need for integrated watershed management, emphasizing soil conservation techniques such as terracing, agroforestry, and farmer education on sustainable practices. These measures could mitigate erosion, reduce nutrient loss, and enhance soil recovery, contributing to the sustainability of the Mamasa Sub-watershed ecosystem and improving local livelihoods. This research underscores the critical need for data-driven, multidisciplinary approaches to address watershed management's ecological, economic, and social dimensions. By implementing effective strategies, stakeholders can achieve more sustainable land use and mitigate the adverse effects of soil degradation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of institutional ownership on a company's effective tax rate by considering green accounting, capital intensity, and deferred tax expense. Using secondary data from manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2019–2023, this quantitative research applies purposive sampling to select samples from a population of 219 firms. Data were obtained from sustainability and annual reports. The findings reveal that green accounting and deferred tax expense significantly affect the effective tax rate, while capital intensity does not. Furthermore, institutional ownership moderates the effects of green accounting and deferred tax expense on the effective tax rate but does not moderate the effect of capital intensity. These results have practical implications for companies aiming to design more efficient tax strategies, and for investors evaluating corporate tax policies before making investment decisions. From a regulatory perspective, the findings offer valuable insights for creating tax policies that enhance corporate transparency and accountability. The study presents novelty by simultaneously examining green accounting, capital intensity, and deferred tax expense with institutional ownership as a moderating variable—an approach rarely applied in the manufacturing sector. This combination offers new perspectives on the interrelation between environmental practices, asset structure, tax planning, and investor influence. Institutional ownership, in particular, highlights how shareholders can play a role in shaping sustainable and transparent corporate tax policies.
