Abstract

The TDWI Maturity Model for Business Intelligence (BI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been widely adopted as a framework for assessing the level of BI and AI adoption in various organizations. However, its application has so far focused on large enterprises, leaving little exploration of its relevance and suitability for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and non-profit organizations, particularly in Indonesia. This study aims to evaluate the relevance of the TDWI BI and AI Maturity Model questionnaire in the context of vocational high schools (SMK) and non-profit educational institutions, identify contextual gaps, and propose adaptations to improve its implementation and effectiveness. A qualitative research approach with thematic analysis was used to analyze data from four key respondents: a principal, a curriculum coordinator, an IT operator, and a teacher. The analysis focused on the alignment of the TDWI model with the organizational, technical, and social contexts of the schools. The research findings indicate that, although the TDWI model is conceptually relevant, several adaptations are needed to make it more applicable in educational settings. Suggested adaptations include simplifying technical language to make it understandable for non-technical staff, integrating data literacy and resource-based indicators to assess staff readiness and organizational capacity, and adding a social impact dimension to evaluate the contribution of BI and AI to educational quality and equitable access to learning. Six critical themes emerged as challenges to implementing the TDWI model in schools: language clarity, financial context, organizational structure, resource constraints, digital literacy, and social impact. Addressing these themes could improve the localization of the global maturity model, making it more relevant to SMEs and non-profit educational institutions. This study expands theoretical and practical understanding of the application of BI and AI frameworks beyond large corporations, emphasizes contextual adaptations, and provides guidance for school administrators, policymakers, and educational technology practitioners.

Abstract

This study assessed the water quality of the Winto River in Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, at upstream and downstream points adjacent to asphalt mining activities. Sampling was carried out in accordance with SNI 8995:2021, and the results were evaluated by comparing the physical, chemical, heavy metal, and biological parameters against river water quality standards for classes 1 to 4 as stipulated in Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021. Findings revealed that physical, chemical, and biological parameters generally remained within safe limits. The measurement results show that the water temperature is maintained at a constant 28 °C and is still within the permissible deviation. TDS and TSS values were low, pH was neutral, and both BOD and COD indicated minimal organic loads. Nutrients and heavy metals were well below permissible thresholds, while total coliform counts complied with Class 1 standards. These results suggest that the Winto River has not yet experienced significant water quality degradation despite its proximity to asphalt mining. The novelty of this research lies in providing empirical evidence from a rarely studied context in Indonesia, serving as an essential baseline for long-term monitoring. Practically, the findings highlight the need for continuous monitoring and for evidence-based policies by local authorities to ensure sustainable water resource management in mining-affected regions

Abstract

Japanese manga has evolved into a worldwide cultural phenomenon. Despite its popularity, many official editions of manga remain in raw format, namely untranslated Japanese versions. This creates difficulties for non-Japanese especially Indonesian readers in understanding the storyline. The swift progress of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning provides innovative solutions to overcome this barrier. One promising approach is the use of Optical Character Recognition technology to detect textual elements in manga images and translate them automatically with the help of object detection models such as You Only Look Once version 8. Building on this approach, the present study develops a web-based manga translation application by applying the Software Development Life Cycle method, which includes requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system integrates You Only Look Once version 8 for panel detection, Manga Optical Character Recognition for Japanese text recognition, and translation libraries for automatic text replacement. The novelty of this research lies in offering an end-to-end translation solution that supports both image and portable document format inputs, while also providing downloadable outputs for improved usability. In this way, the study contributes to the fields of Optical Character Recognition and machine translation, while delivering a functional tool that enables Indonesian readers to access Japanese manga without language barriers.

Abstract

The Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) organization in Sempaja Selatan encounters several challenges, including gaps in digital access and suboptimal health conditions, where recurring floods often worsen public health issues. To overcome these problems, the E-Sehati program short for Business, Healthy Living, and Digital was introduced as an initiative to educate communities on digital technology use and to encourage clean and healthy living behaviors, especially among vulnerable populations. This research aims to design and assess the effectiveness of the E-Sehati program in enhancing digital literacy, particularly in relation to health behavior, and ultimately improving the community’s quality of life. The development of the E-Sehati program adopted the Waterfall model, which progresses through stages from analysis to evaluation. It focuses on educating participants about ten essential household health practices, including childbirth assisted by health professionals, exclusive breastfeeding, regular weighing of infants and toddlers, the use of clean water, proper handwashing, adequate sanitation, mosquito larvae control, daily exercise, balanced nutrition, and maintaining a smoke-free home environment. Data gathered through beta testing indicated that the program substantially enhanced participants’ digital literacy and encouraged healthier lifestyle habits. Overall, this study highlights the potential of multimedia-based health education and deepens understanding of how digital literacy and information technology can contribute to better household health outcomes.

Abstract

Sangkuliman Village, located in Kota Bangun District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, is one of the leading tourism villages that capitalizes on its rich natural and cultural potential. Its main attractions such as Semayang Lake, Saguntur Lake, and the Mahakam River Dolphin (Pesut Mahakam) serve as key strengths for developing community-based tourism (CBT). Tourism activities are managed by the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) BMT, which plays a central role in mobilizing community participation in managing local tourism resources. However, the financial management practices of Pokdarwis continue to face several critical challenges. Observations and interviews reveal that financial records are still maintained manually and rely solely on simple cash books, with no preparation of financial statements such as income statements or balance sheets. In addition, the use of personal funds by Pokdarwis administrators for operational needs without formal documentation poses administrative risks and undermines financial accountability. Findings from this study indicate that most Pokdarwis organizations have not yet implemented even a basic accounting system and have limited understanding of transparency and financial accountability principles. This condition is compounded by low human resource capacity, particularly regarding financial literacy and management skills. This research aims to describe the financial management system of Pokdarwis BMT in Sangkuliman Village, identify the challenges encountered, and develop strategic recommendations to establish a transparent, accountable, and sustainable financial governance system that ensures responsibility and long-term viability in managing community-based tourism.

Abstract

Tofu has a short shelf life, creating a demand for natural preservatives. This study evaluated the effect of coconut shell liquid smoke at 2%, 4%, and 6% concentrations on white tofu’s organoleptic qualities (color, aroma, texture) and proximate composition (protein and ash) over three days. Tofu was soaked in liquid smoke, then assessed by 15 panelists for sensory acceptance and tested in the lab for protein (Lowry method) and ash (dry ashing). Panelists generally liked the color, aroma, and texture, though aroma and texture declined over time. The highest protein content (1.45%) was seen on day one with 6% liquid smoke. Protein and ash levels did not meet Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 3142-2018. Results indicate coconut shell liquid smoke shows promise as a natural tofu preservative, but concentration and application need optimization to improve nutritional and sensory qualities to meet standards.

Abstract

The transformation toward a green economy represents a strategic agenda for achieving sustainable development, particularly in archipelagic regions such as Baubau City, which faces fiscal constraints and geographical challenges. This study examines the influence of inclusive public financial governance and digitalization of public finance on green economic transformation, with the effectiveness of public financial management serving as a mediating variable. The research applied a mixed-methods approach, involving 126 quantitative respondents determined using the Slovin formula and ten qualitative informants selected purposively. Quantitative data were analyzed through multiple regression and the Sobel test, while qualitative data were collected through interviews and focus group discussions to enrich the empirical context. The findings reveal that inclusive public financial governance significantly affects the effectiveness of public financial management but does not directly influence green economic transformation. In contrast, digitalization of public finance has a significant impact on both financial management effectiveness and green economic transformation. The effectiveness of public financial management also contributes significantly to green economic transformation but does not serve as a significant mediating variable. Overall, the study concludes that digitalization of public finance is a key driver in accelerating green economic transformation in archipelagic regions. Meanwhile, inclusive governance should be strategically aligned with green fiscal policies to ensure tangible contributions to sustainable and environmentally responsible development.
