Abstract

The objective of this research and development is to develop a model of science learning program through play activities of children in kindergarten. The research was conducted in DKI Jakarta, by conducting surveys on five kindergartens as the sample during the pre-develompment phase, and a kindergarten at East Jakarta was purposely chosen for implementation phase of field-testing. Research conclussions: (1) the developed model of learning science through play is effective when implementing in kindergarten, (2) the model is developed based on the crossed study of literature and survey which mainly showed that science learning program at kindergarten were dominantly lean on the theacher’s knowledge in science, that is infact most teacher realized that their science knowledge were minimum. (3) the structure the model of science learning through play developed, includes; description of themes, learning competences and indicators, learning objectives focused on science process skills and attitude, conceptual web of play, description of esentials science material for teacher, the scenario of learning activities and evaluation.Keywords: model of science learning through play, science process, esentials sciences material

Abstract

Sudah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh urin sapi sebagai pupuk cair terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman seledri (Apium graveolens L.) sebagai penunjang matakuliah Botani  Tingkat  Tinggi,  pada  bulan  Agustus  sampai dengan  Oktober  2013,  di Jl.  Mugirejo, Samarinda.Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui  pengaruh  urin  sapi  sebagai  pupuk  cair terhadap pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun tanaman seledri dan mengetahui dosis pupukcair urin sapi yang tepat untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman seledri (Apium graveolens L.).Penelitian disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan lima perlakuan (termasuk kontrol ) yang diulang sebanyak lima kali, masing-masing perlakuan yaituP0 (kontrol), P1  (25cc), P2  (50cc), P3  (75cc), P4  (100cc). Pengamatan untuk tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun dilakukan pada saat tanaman berumur 10 hari, 20 hari dan pada saat   panen (30 hari). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan  analisis varians (Anava) dan dilanjutkandengan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT) pada taraf signifikansi 5%.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pupuk cair urin sapi memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, dan jumlah daun tanaman seledri. Adapun konsentrasi pupuk cair urun sapi yang tepat untuk tanaman seledri diperoleh pada perlakuan P2 (50cc), yang menunjukkan hasil terbaik untuk rata-rata tinggi dan jumlah daun tanaman seledri. Tinggi dan jumlah daun tanaman seledri dapat digunakan sebagai spesimen dalam praktikum Botani Tingkat Tinggi. Kata Kunci : Urin Sapi, Pertumbuhan, Hasil, Seledri

Abstract

A survey has been conducted in grade XI natural science of senior high school, at odd semester, academic year 2016/2017 in Samarinda, Indonesia. The focus of this research are to determine the students’ ethnicities, and the responses of biology teachers about students critical thinking skills, and Problem-Based Learning. Sampling technique was total sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data was analysed by techniques used descriptive. The results of the data analysis show that the compositions of students’ ethnics are: Java (12.7%), Bugis (6.9%), Kutai (13.3%), Banjar (13.3%), and other ethnics (28.5%). Most of the teachers (86.0%) who already understood about the learning approaches, said that they already understood, while the remaining 14% did not understand the patterns of Problem-Based Learning. In addition, 23.3% teachers said that students were less able to explain, express opinions, and make conclusions; 76.7% said that students are sufficiently able to explain, express opinions, and make conclusions. Future research related to biology learning in multiethnic students needs to be conducted to get more information. The design of learning tools needs to consider the ethnic  of the students in strengthening critical thinking skills. Similar research needs to be done to obtain more information.The findings of this research are the students’ ethnicities of the XI class of Natural Sciences, as well as the responses of high school biology teachers about students critical thinking skills in Biology.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara pembelajaran reciprocal teaching dengan pembelajaran tutor sebaya pada pokok bahasan klasifikasi mahluk hidup kelas VII di SMP Negeri 32 Samarinda. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 32 Samarinda yang berjumlah 4 kelas, sedangkan sampel yang digunakan kelas VII-A dan kelas VII-B masing-masing sebanyak 25 siswa. Kelas pertama menggunakan pembelajaran reciprocal teaching dan kelas kedua menggunakan pembelajaran tutor sebaya. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitin diperoleh thitung = 3,21 dan ttabel = 2,00 berarti nilai thitung ttabel pada taraf signifikan 5%, Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan, ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara pembelajaran reciprocal teaching dengan pembelajaran tutor sebaya pada pokok bahasan klasifikasi mahluk hidup.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of online-offline media (MO2) on improving students' cognitive learning outcomes. This study is a true experiment with a total sample of 60 students (30 students who use smartphones and 30 students who do not) at SMA Negeri 1 Samarinda class XI science in biology subjects. The design of this study used a posttest-only control design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test and an N-Gain test. The results of the independent t-test analysis showed that there was a difference in the increase in cognitive learning outcomes in the application of MO2 with a significance value of 0.00 <0.05. The results of the N-gain test showed that MO2 was effective in improving cognitive learning outcomes with a score of 78% (high category). The results of this study indicate that MO2 media is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of virtual laboratory learning media on gram staining material in improving student learning outcomes and retention. The method used in this study is an experiment with a Pretest-Post Nonequivalent Control Group Design . The results showed that the validity of the learning media was 95.6%, the language was 96.4% and the material was 95.5%. The practicality of the media based on teacher questionnaire data is 91.6% and 82.9% of student questionnaires, and the average student learning outcomes increase by 81.9% and the results of student retention power of 87%. Based on the results of the validity, practicality and effectiveness of Biology students and teachers at SMAN 8, SMAN 17 and SMA Wahidiyah Samarinda, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of virtual laboratory media on gram staining material in Biology learning is appropriate to be used as a learning medium.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study is to obtain 1) description of the use of learning media as teaching resource on biology learning process that has been happening in the field, 2) the views and constraints faced by teachers in the field for delivering protein synthesis subject, 3) formulation of learning media that needs to be developed on biology learning of protein synthesis subject. The observation result from teacher’s needs assessment that analyzed using descriptive qualitative indicated that 1) the use of learning media as teaching resource on biology learning process has not done optimally. There are constraints in delivery of material, especially abstract material, 2) the protein synthesis subject is a difficult subject, in its delivery, teachers need media that can visualize the process of protein synthesis for twelfth grade and explain it in detail and correctly so there is no misconception of students towards protein synthesis subject, and 3) the learning media that needs to be developed in biology learning of protein synthesis subject is in the form of audio-visual media.Key Words: needs assessment, media, audiovisual, protein synthesisAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh 1) gambaran penggunaan media pembelajaran sebagai sumber ajar pada proses pembelajaran biologi yang selama ini terjadi di lapangan, 2) pandangan dan kendala yang dihadapi para guru di lapangan terhadap penyampaian pokok bahasan sintesis protein, 3) rumusan media pembelajaran yang perlu dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran biologi pokok bahasan sintesis protein. Hasil observasi kebutuhan guru yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif menunjukkan bahwa 1) penggunaan media pembelajaran sebagai sumber ajar pada proses pembelajaran biologi selama ini belum dilakukan secara maksimal. Terdapat kendala penyampaian materi terutama materi yang bersifat abstrak, 2) pokok bahasan sintesis protein merupakan materi yang sulit. Dalam penyampaiannya, guru membutuhkan media yang dapat memvisualisasikan proses dan menjelaskannya secara detail dan benar sehingga tidak terjadi miskonsepsi siswa terhadap pokok bahasan sintesis protein, dan 3) media pembelajaran yang perlu dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran biologi pokok bahasan sintesis protein adalah berupa media audio visual.Kata kunci: analisis kebutuhan, media, audiovisual, sintesis protein

Abstract

Biology learning in the senior high school level is a subject that needs proof of each sub-material. In order to achieve maximum learning objectives, then the teaching support materials needed to guide the teacher in the learning process. The lacks of the teachers ability to develop guided inquiry-based learning materials still dominate. This study aimed to determine the teachers' weakness and the obstacles they faced in the process of preparing and developing the learning materials. The research method used were survey and interviews which included a questionnaire containing the teacher's understanding of the learning materials. As for the results of the study related to the teachers understanding of learning materials, 80% of teachers did not understand, and 20% of teachers who understood the learning materials used during the practicum. Then the teachers obstacles related to developing learning materials, 80% of teachers do not understand how to develop the learning materials and implementing inquiry learning models, and 10% of teachers did not understand how to develop learning materials, and 10% of teachers understand enough to develop guided inquiry-based learning materials. With the problems that lie in the ability of the teacher to develop the learning materials, the need to provide training to the teacher is related to develop learning materials and guiding teachers to develop inquiry-based learning materials.Keywords: learning materials, biology, inquiry

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran bahasa anak usia 5-6 tahun melalui bermain di TK Anggrek Permai Balikpapan. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang menggunakan 4 tahapan, yaitu: (1) tahap pra pengembangan, (2) tahap pengembangan awal, (3) tahap pengembangan, (4) tahap penerapan. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian pengembangan ini adalah: (1) desain perangkat pembelajaran pengembangan dibuat mengacu pada kurikulum 2013 dengan memenuhi seluruh komponen yang harus ada dalam setiap perangkat pembelajaran, (2) kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran bahasa anak usia 5 -6 tahun melalui bermain dapat dilihat dari hasil validasi tim ahli atau validator menghasilkan nilai 96,54% dengan kategori hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran sangat layak/valid, didukung oleh respon guru yang positif, sehingga sangat layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran, (3) Kefektifan perangkat pembelajaran bahasa anak usia 5 -6 tahun melalui bermain dapat dilihat dari data hasil uji coba lapangan, dimana terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa anak sesuai dengan indikator yang diamati. Abstract

The objective of this research is to provide a depiction of the effects of online science education on children between the ages of 5 and 6 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically in relation to the development of science learning abilities in this age group. This research aims to investigate the challenges and barriers encountered during the execution of science education for children aged 5–6 years at Barunawati 3 Samarinda Kindergarten. The research employs a case study methodology, which centers on the individuals involved in a particular teacher's online science learning case, as a means of adapting to crisis situations. The Barunawati 3 Samarinda Kindergarten has been accredited as "Good" based on the school's established criteria for evaluation. The study employed the interaction model proposed by Milles and Huberman to analyze the data collection methods, which included direct interviews, direct observation, and documentation, with a sample of one teacher, three parents, and three students. The findings indicate that the effects of incorporating online science education were facilitated via WhatsApp Video Calls and assignments completed by students with parental involvement. Additionally, the study examined student reactions during learning activities and the outcomes of instructional methods that did not employ digital learning resources. Hence, the findings of this research offer valuable insights for educational institutions to enhance their online science education programs, thereby facilitating a smooth transition of children to formal schooling.
