Abstract

Suka Makmur store is a store that sells fruit seeds in Pekalongan Village. Suka Makmur store provides various types of fruit seeds for sale to consumers. Consumers at the Suka Makmur store are more than compared to other stores because the location is close to the Pekalongan Market. Seed sellers provide services as well as the quality of their products to consumers as a factor that determines whether or not they are satisfied with the fruit nurseries provided by the seller. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of satisfaction of consumers of fruit nurseries.  The results of the study concluded that the level of consumer satisfaction in fruit nurseries in Kios Suka Makmur, Pekalongan Village, Pekalongan District, East Lampung Regency was satisfied. This is involved from the calculation of the Customer Satisfaction index (CSI), that the value of the consumer satisfaction index is 0.71. This value is in the range of satisfaction indexs between 0.66 - 0.80, which means consumers are satisfied with the fruit nurseries provided by fruit seed sellers and are as expected by consumers.

Abstract

The development of agribusiness is important because the added value of all series of agricultural production is created in the subsystem of cultivation, marketing and processing, namely rural agro-industry can be a transition phase towards structural transformation of agriculture to real agricultural production. The development of regional commodities must be based on the comparative advantage of the location, thus agricultural products with special characteristics must have a better development orientation and proper management to achieve maximum efficiency. This study aims to determine the priority commodities that are prioritized to be developed and to formulate directions for the development of superior commodity agribusiness in Central Lampung Regency. The method used is a case study method with a case unit selected intentionally (purposively) in Central Lampung. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis techniques include determining: superior commodities; priority commodities, and directions for developing superior commodities. The conclusion of this study is that the main base commodities in Central Lampung Regency are rice (R/C ratio 11.36), cassava (R/C ratio 5.67) and corn (R/C ratio 4.24). The directions for developing superior commodities are; land allocation for rice plants is 54,218 ha with development centers in Trimurjo, Punggur, Kota Gajah, Padang Ratu, Seputih Agung, Terbanggi Besar, Seputih Mataram, and Way Seputih sub-districts, while for corn an area of 41,271 ha with development centers in Gunungsugih District, Seputih Raman, and Seputih Banyak and for cassava covering an area of 38,852 ha with development centers in Anak Tuha, Way Pengubuan and Rumbia sub-districts.

Abstract

In general, banana stem waste is rarely processed into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) for plants. This study aims to determine the effect of banana stem LOF concentration on the growth of sugarcane cuttings using the Bud Chip method. Five treatments of banana stem LOF concentration were tested in this study, namely 0, 150, 300, 450, and 600 ml/l. The experiment used a randomized block design with 5 replications. The data were analyzed by means of variance and continued with the comparison test of orthogonal and orthogonal polynomials at 5% significance level. The results showed that sugarcane cuttings given banana stem LOF produced better cuttings growth compared to sugarcane cuttings that were not given banana stem LOF, seen in the observation variables of shoot height, number of leaves, root length, shoot wet weight, shoot dry weight, root wet weight, and root dry weight. In the same observation variable, the concentration of banana stem LOF had a quadratic effect in which it initially increased the growth of sugarcane cuttings, until it reached the optimal concentration between 411.78 - 432.55 ml/l, then the growth of sugarcane cuttings decreased as the concentration of banana stem LOF increased.

Abstract

Api-api plant (Avicennia marina) is one type of plant found in mangrove forest vegetation. It grows in tidal areas with muddy, loam and sandy soil conditions. The growth and development of this plant is also influenced by the salinity of the water. To develop this plant, the obstacles faced in addition to its habitat which is in the tidal area which is strongly influenced by water salinity, also not much effort to cultivate this plant outside its habitat.  The aim  of this reasearch was to determine the response of the use of various kind of growth media such as soil, sea sand, river sand dan mixture of soil and sea sand to the growth of Api-api (Avicennia marina) seeds. The research was carried out using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications consisting of 5 levels of growth media treatment. The data were analyzed by means of variance and to determine the mean value of the treatment, the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test was carried out at the 5% level.  The results of this reasearch concluded that differences in growrth media had a higly significant effect on the growth of api-api seeds. Growth media that consist of  mixed with soil and sea sand media and sea sand media showed better results in plant growth variables which include viability seed, number of leaves, plant height, stem diameter, root length, wet weight and dry weight of the plant.

Abstract

Reeds grass (Imperata cylindrica (L.) Beauv.) is a weed plant growing rapidly disturb agriculture and plantation crops. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of giving reed grass rhizome extract in various concentrations and how to apply it as well as the interaction of both on reed grass weeds. The research design used was a complete randomized block design with two factors, namely the formulation reed grass rhizome extract (levels 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and control) and how the application (via the roots and crown), each of which is repeated as many as 10 replications. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA table and to examine the two middle values used Test Least Significant Difference (LSD) at 5% level.  The hypothesis is suspected substance residues of reed grass rhizome extract is effective in inhibiting the vegetative growth of reeds grass. The results showed that (1) Levels of substance extract residues reed grass rhizome of 20% - 50% significantly reduced the growth of reeds grass which marked the low canopy observation length, root length, shoot dry weight and root dry weight, (2) Application through real root suppress the growth of reeds which marked the low canopy observation length, shoot dry weight and root dry weight, and the percentage of deaths.

Abstract

Increasing agricultural production can be done by planting a plot of land with various types of plants in a row or alternating cropping patterns. Agricultural cropping systems on dry land in the tropics have specific characteristics and depend on rainfall which can pose a threat to plant survival and the danger of erosion. . In suboptimal land with dry and wet climates, farmers generally plant upland rice alternately with corn and then plant beans. In reality, farmers do not only intercept/rotate between rice and secondary crops but also between crops and crops and/or crops and horticulture (vegetables). This paper aims to present research results related to efforts to increase land productivity by planting a plot of land with several types of plants to increase crop yields and farmers' income. The introduction of a conservation farming cropping system using ground cover and strip plants that produce organic matter is one of the alternatives to the conservation farming cropping system as well as for adaptation to climate change.

Abstract

Sweet corn is one of the agricultural commodities that is widely consumed because it contains various nutrients that are needed by the human body. Sweet corn production is strongly influenced by several things, including the adequacy of nutrients in the soil. To meet the needs of plant nutrients can be done through fertilization activities. The effectiveness of fertilization is strongly influenced by the dose, type, method and time of application. This study aims to determine the growth and yield of sweet corn plants due to the application of Urea, SP36, and KCl  fertilizers with different doses. The results showed that the treatment using Urea, SP36, and KCl fertilizers with different doses had a significant effect on the variables of plant height, weight of cobs with beans, and weight of cobs without beans. However, there was no significant difference in the number of leaves, ear diameter, dissolved solids, and yield per hectare
