AL-FALAH: Journal of Islamic Economics is scientific journal of Islamic Economics based on both conceptual and empirical research. It concerns to extensively publish the issues of islamic economics which study through interdiscipline perspectives such as fiqh, shariah finance, islamic bank, islamic development economics, and also economic sociology. The journal is published by Curup State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN), Bengkulu, Indonesia. Published twice in a year, on June and December, the journal of Al-Falah is projected as a media, sphere, and dessemination of scholars studies on islamic economics issues. Therefore, Al-Falah invites all of participants, scholars, researchers, and Muslim economists to submit their best-papers, and publish it in Al-Falah: Journal of Islamic Economics.

Abstract

Purpose: The goal of this research is to find out how Sharia banking can overtake financing for MSMEs that are not yet bankable by sticking to prudential banking with a case study: Islamic Banking in the Special Region of YogyakartaDesign/Method/Approach: This is qualitative research using a triangulation method to verify the validity of the data obtained. The research was undertaken at an Islamic bank in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia disbursing KUR.Findings: The results of this study are that Islamic banking in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) applies the 5 CS methods (Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral, and Condition of Economy) when conducting a financing analysis of their prospective KUR recipient customers.Organally/Value: The method found in this study is beneficial for analyzing unbankable MSMEs. Islamic banks can believe in the ability to pay prospective customers despite the limitations of the data and documents analyzed. This method is beneficial to help unbankable MSMEs to be able to access capital from Islamic banking.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper aims to discover how the Islamic Bank’s development affects unemployment in Indonesia. It also tries to reveal to what extent the Islamic Bank’s development affects unemployment in Indonesia.Design/Method/Approach: This study is a quantitative research that uses the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) in analyzing the provincial data spanning from 2010 to 2021in Indonesia.Findings: The findings of this research show that Islamic Bank’s asset has a positive relationship with unemployment in Indonesia, whereby a 1 percent increase in Islamic Bank’s asset will increase unemployment by 0.21%. Likewise, a 1 percent increase in the Third-party Fund of Islamic Bank in Indonesia contributed to a rise in unemployment by 0.09 %. On the contrary, total financing channeled by the Islamic Bank in Indonesia reduced unemployment by 0.13 %. It can be seen from the result that the impact of Islamic Bank development in Indonesia can be seen from the total funds channeled to the business. The more the funds are channeled to the business, the more it can reduce unemployment in Indonesia.Originality/Values: This study is the first to analyze how Islamic Bank would influence unemployment using third-party funds, total assets and total financing.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of consumer attitudes, safety, and product quality on interest in subscribing to halal cosmetic products, with a focus on generation Z considering the trend and public awareness of halal products, especially cosmetics, is increasing every year.Design/Method/Approach:  This study uses a quantitative approach with a questionnaire as an instrument to collect primary data from 108 generation Z respondents who have used halal cosmetic products in Riau Province, and applies Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM - PLS) analysis techniques.Findings:  This study uses a quantitative approach with a questionnaire to collect data from 108 generation Z respondents in Riau Province who use halal cosmetic products, and applies SEM-PLS for data analysis. The results show that generation Z consumer attitudes and product quality have a positive and significant influence on the interest in subscribing to halal cosmetic products with coefficient values of 0.430 and 0.439, respectivelyOriginality/Values: These findings provide important insights for the halal cosmetics industry in designing more effective marketing strategies to meet the needs of generation Z consumers who are increasingly concerned about halal products, as well as to expand market share in this industry.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to discover how the service satisfaction level of Sharia Kalsel Bank in Banjarmasin City is being improved using the use of importance-performance analysis.Design/Method/Approach: This study is a field study with a quantitative descriptive approach. Purposive sampling is a non-probability sampling technique that involves taking samples based as being a customer of Sharia Kalsel Bank for at least one year, with a sample of 100 respondents.Findings: This study show that the service quality of Sharia Kalsel Bank in Banjarmasin City does not meet the criteria for excellent or best service because there is a gap between the average value of performance level and the average value of interest/importance level. The following service factors are identified as needing to be improved on a priority basis using the Cartesian diagram: 4 (Provide service within the estimated time), 7 (Fast service), 14 (Employees give individual (personal) attention to customers regardless of social status), 15 (Full attention of employees to give service for customer), 16 (Prioritize customers need), and 17 (Employees who understand customer needs), 23 (Contracts used in accordance with Al-Quran Hadith, and DSN Fatwas).Originality/Values: The results of measuring the level of customer service satisfaction and the proposed priority actions that can be taken to improve the quality of service at Bank Kalsel Syariah Banjarmasin City.

Abstract

Purpose:  The mean of its research was to examine the effect of Village Funds and Local Government Revenue (PAD) on poverty mediated by economic growth in regencies and cities in East Java province.Design/Method/Approach:  The research population is regencies/cities in East Java in 2015–2022. The data on Village Funds and Local Government Revenue were taken from the DJPK of the Ministry of Finance Republic Indonesia situs. The data on poverty and economic growth were obtained from the website of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of East Java Province. The data analysis used path analysis. Findings:  The outputs declare Village Funds had a significant positive influence on poverty. Village Funds have no significant influence on economic accretion. Local Government Income has a significant negative influence on poverty. Local Government Revenue has a significant positive influence on economic accretion. Economic increases has a significant positive influence on poverty. Village Funds have a significant positive indirect impact  on poverty by way of economic growth. Original Government Revenue has a significant positive indirect influence on poverty through economic increases.Originality/Values:  Economic growth must be encouraged because it is able to mediates village funds and original local government revenue towards poverty in regencies/cities In East Java.

Abstract

Purpose: The Paper aim to explore what possibilities Shariah Business Units could hold the mandate of Law Islamic BankingDesign/Method/Approach: This study uses a descriptive analysis. It intensively Implemented a qualitative approach to obtain information and collected the data needed through relevant literatures and studies.Findings: This paper provide several recommendations such as a direct spinoff for the five SBU with the largest assets, combining BUS with an existing Islamic Bank, combining several SBU and then spinoff, and finally converting Conventional Bank which has SBU to become an Islamic Bank.Originality/Values:  This study's originality lies in its comprehensive analysis of the strategic implications and potential outcomes for Shariah Business Units (SBU) within conventional banks, considering a specific legal timeframe, multiple transition scenarios, and practical recommendations for stakeholders in the evolving landscape of Islamic banking.

Abstract

Purpose: The objective aim this study is to investigate the factors influencing young Muslims' inclinations in West Java to purchase Korean food through visits to Halal-certified Korean restaurants, Employing the Knowledge-Based Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework as the main variables under investigation.Design/Method/Approach: The research methodology utilizes purposive sampling, targeting individuals aged between 16 and 30 years old. Data analysis employs the Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) method.Findings: Consumer knowledge exerts a positive and notable influence on attitudes, similar to the effects observed with attitudes and subjective norms, which positively and significantly influence the interest of Muslim youth in Halal-certified Korean restaurants. However, perceived behavioral control variables could not be identified as factors significantly influencing the purchase interest of Muslim youth in MUI-certified Halal Korean restaurants.Originality/Values: This article presents several updates, including geographical scope limitations, explanations of the variables used, and novelties in the research period. It is anticipated that the research's findings will significantly enhance marketing tactics and the administration of Halal-certified Korean restaurants in the culinary industry. Additionally, it is hoped that it will also assist business players in this sector in understanding the factors driving the purchase interest of Muslim youth to increase visits to Halal-certified Korean restaurants.

Abstract

Purpose: The Paper is to study Bu Nyai novelist as the economic based of Bu Nyai based Islamic boarding schools in IndonesiaDesign/Method/Approach: This study the authors used a literature review that departed from existing literature studies, could be social media, existing books and journals, research was qualitative and data presentation used descriptive analysis, one of the approaches used was the historical approach to reveal the biographies of the three figures appointed in this paper, and several media-based observations to read and present the data used in this study. These methods were conducted to look at the Islamic boarding school economic network/ Bu Nyai Islamic boarding school based economization in Indonesia.Findings: This research has the following conclusions: First, the role of Bu. Nyai in the field of science and technology has been opened and the impact of progress in science and technology is not only for Bu Nyai, but also Pak. Kyai, Bu. Nyai's role in the field of employment is increasing, and Islamic boarding schools provide space for women to move. Not nyai in developing science and technology and involvement in the field. Second, the role of Bu. Nyai as a wife which includes being a wife which includes helping her husband, clearing up household affairs, using money functionally, maintaining healthy social relationships or relationships, maintaining and developing family relationships and fulfilling the function of a wife towards her husband as well as possible. Bu Nyai's role as a mother is to fulfill children's needs, as an example or model for her children, as a stimulus for child development, and as a public figure, and the roles of Bu Nyai and Pak Kyai in the domestic sphere are broadly balanced, except in the matter of roles especially the wife who is in charge of women's biological needs.Originality/Values: The main contribution of this study what is Bu Nyai's public role in the economic perspective of Islamic boarding schools, and what is the domestic role of Bu Nyai Novelis in the perspective of Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Purpose: The research aims to determine the effect of customer experience, service quality, and cafe atmosphere on repurchase intention with consumer satisfaction as intervening variables for Bento Kopi.Design/Method/Approach: The type of approach taken in this research is quantitative. Data analysis techniques using Structural Equation Modeling with the SmartPLS analysis tool version 3.0. The objects in this research are consumers who have made purchases at Bento Kopi. The sampling technique uses nonprobability sampling and determining the sample used purposive sampling with a total sample of 100 respondents. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires online with Google Forms.Findings: The findings of research results show that a direct customer experience has a positive and significant effect on repurchase interest. Meanwhile, service quality does not directly influence repurchase interest. Repurchase interest is influenced by customer experience and service quality through the use of consumer satisfaction as an intervening variable.Originality/Values: This research is the first research to determine repurchase interest in Bento Kopi Kudus as reviewed by customer experience and service quality with consumer satisfaction as a variable intervention.

Abstract

Purpose: The goal of this research is to discover and assess the impact of Islamic insurance and Islamic banks on economic growth. Examining the Impact of Islamic Insurance on Indonesian Economic Growth and the Impact of Islamic Banks on Indonesian Economic Growth. In this scenario, the research was carried out between 2016 and 2022.Design/Method/Approach: This is descriptive study using a quantitative research technique. With secondary data sources obtained from financial reports published by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), namely IKNB Sariah which contains financial reports for all sharia insurance and banking statistics for the 2016-2022 period. In this research, the population and sample are all monthly financial reports of Indonesian Sharia Insurance and sharia banking in quarterly form for the period 2016-2022. Economic growth is the research's dependent variable. Meanwhile, Sharia Insurance and Sharia Banking are the independent factors. This study's data will be examined utilizing research instrument testing, traditional assumption tests, multiple regression tests, and hypothesis tests.Findings: According to the partial test results, the Islamic insurance variable has no significant influence on economic growth in Indonesia for the 2016-2022 periods; however the Islamic banking variable has a positive and substantial effect on economic growth in Indonesia for the 2016-2022 periods. While the test findings between Islamic Insurance and Islamic Banks on Indonesian Economic Growth, the two data evaluated in this study combined have a substantial impact on economic growth.Originality/Value: This study adds value by examining the impact of Islamic Insurance and Islamic Banks to annual economic development in Indonesia from 2016 to 2022. Also as a fundamental study to see the opportunities and weaknesses of Islamic Insurance and Syraiah Banking in Indonesia, for Indonesia's economic growth.
