Abstract

The rates of failure for the online student courses are higher compared to the traditional student courses. In a study of these student failures, emotions of the instructor are among the factors to this failure. This is because the effectiveness of online courses and the improvement of student achievement are closely related to emotions. Therefore, The objective of this quantitative, correlational study was to learn more about the link between student perceptions of instructor emotional intelligence and student performance in an online postsecondary environment. The population was taken from 30 part two full time postgraduate students in the faculty of education in UiTM. Probability sampling was used in this research. All data for this study was obtained online utilizing a closed-ended questionnaire with the Genos Emotional Intelligence Inventory other-report, concise version for instructors and student performance. The researcher applied for the consent letter from the respective faculty. The questionnaires are distributed to the chosen respondent. SPSS was used to analyze the data. Descriptive and Inferential statistics data will be used to analyze the data gained in this research. Next, the hypothesis was used by the researcher to study whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected. This study found that there was a significant relationship between the student’s perception of the instructor's emotional intelligence and student performance during online learning at the public university in Malaysia.

Abstract

This research is aimed at investigating EFL preservice teacher’s attitudes and motivations in developing a digital learning video and the difficulties found in developing a digital learning video. The research was conducted at University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka. There are 67 EFL preservice teachers who became the participants taken by purposive sampling technique. A mixed method was used. The questionnaire was distributed to all participants to respond to their attitudes and motivations, and nine participants were invited to have an individual interview. A descriptive statistic was used to analyze the questionnaire data and a description and image analysis was utilized to analyze the open-ended questions and the interview data. The results show that (1) the EFL preservice teachers’ attitudes in developing a digital learning video are in the higher level as the mean of their responses from four items ranging between 3.16 to 3.21, (2) the EFL preservice teachers’ motivations in developing a digital learning video are also in the higher level in which the mean of their responses ranged from 3.12 to 3.36, and (3) the difficulties faced in developing a digital learning video include: skills of using applications, providing materials, software capability, confidence, and time availability. Therefore, the implications cover the learning video quality produced by EFL preservice teachers to attract students’ attention to learn English better, the variety of video editing applications used in overcoming students’ learning boredom, and encouraging EFL preservice teachers to continue learning and practicing to create and edit the videos better.

Abstract

This study aims to examine lesson study activities to improve early childhood educators’ professionalism. This is qualitative research study. The lesson study, conceived as a professional development approach focused on collaboration and reflection, took place in the 5th semester of the 2020/2021 academic year and involved 25 participants. The instrument of the study consisted of lesson design, field notes, and interviews with the observers, as well as the transcription of the audio recording. To analyze the data, the technique is a qualitative data analysis developed by Miles and Huberman consisting of three stages performed sequentially those are: 1) data reduction, 2) presents data, 3) draw conclusion. The research results can be used as a basis in improving and strengthening a lesson study activities dealing with make up- and beauty activities. It made a significant positive contribution to the professional development of educators in various aspects such as lesson design, methods and course evaluation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the sorts of children's games that are now being developed, as well as to examine the role and influence of children's games on the formation of children's character. Spradley model is used in this qualitative descriptive research method. This study was done at the Bandung Regency Elementary School, with a focus on kids in second grade. Data was gathered by observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Teachers and parents were interviewed, and kids were asked to complete a questionnaire. Spradley model was then used to assess the research data. According to the findings of this survey, new games in the form of online games and a variety of sports that children enjoy are currently dominating the game market. Traditional games are still played, but the intensity is low due to the lack of introduction. All games are different and have different effects on youngsters. As a result, regardless of the type of game, how the child plays and makes the best use of the game media is the most important factor, and character education is the packaging. It makes no difference how difficult the game is if it is combined with an educational approach or character education. Parents, teachers, and children working together This is critical for the teaching method using game media to be successful. Children should enjoy the more sophisticated era, but classic games should not be neglected. This can be accomplished by blending modern and traditional games in order to entice children to play.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the legibility of non-fiction texts containing Kediri Raya local wisdom in Android-based interactive multimedia intended for 4th grade elementary school students with the readability formula of the Fry Graph. The method in this research is descriptive quantitative. The objects of this research are ten non-fiction texts containing local wisdom in Kediri Raya. The research instrument uses documentation with data collected in the form of non-fiction texts of local wisdom of Kediri Raya in Android-based interactive multimedia. Analysis of the data in this study using the Fry Graph formula as a guide for analyzing the level of readability in non-fiction texts. The results showed that the readability level of ten non-fiction texts containing Kediri Raya local wisdom in Android-based interactive multimedia had the feasibility and suitability of the readability level for 4th grade elementary school students, because the readability levels of these ten nonfiction texts were in areas 2, 3, 4 and 6 which means the non-fiction text of Kediri Raya's local wisdom in interactive multimedia based on Android is suitable and appropriate for grades 2, 3, 4 and 6 of elementary school.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze about the association between self-esteem and achievement goals in various student gender’s groups. This study employed a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The participants in this study were 260 fifth grade students in Tasikmalaya, Indonesia. The research instrument utilized a questionnaire adapted from Rosenberg self-esteem questionnaires and achievement motivation questionnaires adapted from Mc Clelland theory. Data analysis of this study used SPSS Pearson correlation and t-test. The findings revealed that there is a significant differen t level for various groups of gender-esteem and achievement motivation with a number of significancy was 0.21(higher than 0.05). Meanwhile, for fifth-grade students, there is a significant differen t level for various groups of gender-esteem and achievement motivation. This research is beneficial to the advancement of knowledge, particularly in the fields of psychology and primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop The STEM-based flipbook learning media on the Human Circulatory System material for junior high school students. This study uses research and development methods or Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE research model and involves 7 validators to validate flipbook learning media. This research instrument uses a validation sheet consisting of a content validation sheet, media validation sheet, material validation sheet, language validation sheet and media and content validation sheet with analytical techniques using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study are the development of STEM-based Flipbook learning media has been declared feasible with an average score of 81%. The criteria are very valid and get positive results from various validators. Based on the validation results, it shows that the learning media developed is suitable for use in learning, because the media has features (videos, quizzes, and STEM LKPD) that can be accessed online.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an understanding and description of the success of school-based inclusive education management to improve the quality of inclusive education at every level of education in Indonesia. This study uses a systematic literature review method with the PRISMA method. Data were collected by reviewing the official websites of Sciencedirect, Researchgate, Sinta, and Garuda. The data search process uses inclusive educators, quality of education, inclusive education problems, and school-based inclusive education management. The data obtained were then analyzed to understand school-based inclusive education management studies using thematic techniques to identify the pattern of a study. The results of the study showed that the concept of school-based inclusive education management can be a solution to the problems of inclusive schools at every level in improving the quality of education by optimizing the role of educational components such as teachers as the main resource in managing the system to evaluating the learning process in modified curriculum, facilities, and infrastructure. Findings from research results such as (1) Schools should make programs based on the needs and culture of the school, (2) The role of teachers is important in realizing quality education, (3) School-based inclusive management is a reference for other schools to develop creative and innovative educational programs in responding to the challenges of inclusive education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problems in the application of French as a language used to communicate in the school environment, the level of active French language skills, and also the level of need for the development of multimedia learning French to further practice speaking skills in French carried out by students in the school environment. This research was a descriptive qualitative research with 60 student needs evaluation questionnaires of French language learning multimedia, interviewed the headmaster, and two French teachers. The sample of this research is the principal, French teacher and also students at SDIT Ar-Raudhah, Bekasi from the third until the sixth grade who were selected using random sampling method. The data was collected by interviewing the principal and also the French teacher. In addition, a questionnaire or open questionnaire was given to students. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of research showed that there was a decline in the practice of speaking French in the school environment caused by various problems faced by students, such as the difficulty of students understanding French material and grammar, lack of confidence from students to communicate using French, there is no firmness from the school on the rules made in improving the ability of students to communicate using French and learning support media that are still incomplete to be used by students in improving their ability to communicate using French. This shows that the level of development need for multimedia in learning French, especially in the aspect of speaking skills is very high, thus requiring schools to be able to provide facilities that use multimedia in the French language learning process at SDIT Ar-Raudhah.

Abstract

This study aims to identify various kinds of mnemonic techniques found in the literature study. This type of research uses a qualitative research type with a literature review type. This study analyzes twenty journal articles both nationally and internationally by searching from google scholar whose research results found the six highest mnemonic, the results include slow learners, namely acronyms, acrobatics (first letter), chungking, loci, rhyme and keywords. The purpose of the mnemonic technique is to help teachers in teaching students in elementary schools in the process of remembering and understanding learning.
