Abstract

Kapuas Hulu is one of the districts in Indonesia whose children are still digitally discriminated against in the 21st century, especially disadvantaged villages. Nevertheless, students must think critically and creatively in responding to their limitations and socio-cultural conditions to solve the problems at hand. The principle of global thinking and acting locally and having 4C competencies (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity) as 21st-century life skills are very much needed by students to face competition in the current and future industrial revolution 4.0 era. To prepare such students, one of them was by implementing STEAM integrated thematic learning based on local wisdom. STEAM-based learning could train the abilities and talents of students facing 21st-century problems (Danang Wijaya, et al. 2015: FP-87). The results of the study concluded that integrated STEAM thematic learning based on local wisdom was suitable for application in elementary schools. Implementation in learning was done through integrating the content and context of Kapuas Hulu's local wisdom with the scientific disciplines contained in STEAM and the basic competencies of the content of the lessons in the existing themes to produce designs or products of local wisdom. The impact of its implementation was to be able to develop students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities that support 21st-century life skills in facing competition in the industrial revolution era 4.0 with the principles of global thinking and acting locally.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the feasibility of a ship's number line media developed in integer operating material in class VI Elementary School, resulting in learning media in the form of a line number of vessels in integer counting operations in class VI Elementary School, describing how to apply ship number line media in operating material counting mixed integers in class VI Elementary School; and describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in calculating integer operating material after using ship number line media in class VI of Elementary School. Data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires were analyzed. The development research method or model used in this study was a 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) that has been adapted, namely with the following stages of development research (1) product discovery, (2) product manufacture, (3 ) product development and (4) product dissemination. Based on the results of validation and dissemination, the shipyard media in mathematics learning developed by researchers was very feasible to use in the mathematics learning process in elementary schools or equivalent, because it had an average quality of 4.4 on a scale of 1-5 or (87%).

The results showed: (1) The lesson planning in class using the Poster comment strategy was good, this could be seen from the ability of the teacher to prepare lesson plan in cycle I of 68.38%, this happened because in the early stages of the lesson plans the teacher had not fully prepared the and mastering the components described. In Cycle II, the increase was 91.17%. (2) The implementation of the learning activities the first cycle of 65%, in the second cycle, it was 95%. The increase in teacher activity impacted increasing student activity in learning, which in the first cycle was 63.28%, in the second cycle, it increased to 86.71%. (3) Students’ learning outcomes in Zakat Topic with the Poster comment strategy's implementation experienced an increase, wherein cycle I, the average value of students’ learning outcomes was 66.73, then in cycle increased to 77.71. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of demonstration methods in the learning process can improve student activity and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Islam, in the view of several nations, especially the western orientalists, who regard Islam as a barrier in the mission of civilization, especially secularist ideologies, have succeeded in trapping Muslim societies into the wrong paradigm in the implementation or practice of religion. This ideology makes a dichotomy in thought for adherents of Islamic teachings by providing an understanding of the separation of the principle of life between the world and the hereafter, general knowledge with religious knowledge, between the physical and spiritual realm. Even though the two are a unified whole and inseparable. Because the presence of religion is a refinement in all dimensions of human life. The formation of a mindset that for someone who wants to succeed in his life, then there is no need to run a world case. Vice versa. Though both are running in balance and together. Al-Quran gives a clear picture, even has become a prayer in daily life as written; "Robbanaa aatina fiddunya hasanah, wafi aahiroti hasanah, waqinaa adzaa bannar" [O Lord, we give goodness to the world and the hereafter and save us from painful adzab]. In connection with the foregoing, sport, which is part of the secularist insulating solution from the point of view of values, is the philosophy of life of every human being.
