Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of profitability mediation and capital structure on the effect of company growth on firm value. The study was conducted on manufacturing companies listing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2012-2017 with a total sample of 17 companies. The research data was analyzed using causal step regression analysis and product of coefficient models with the help of the SPSS version 19.00 application. The results of testing the hypothesis obtained by sales growth is not significant to the value of the company. Sales growth has a negative effect on profitability. Profitability has a significant positive effect on firm value. The company's growth has a significant positive effect on capital structure. Capital structure has a significant negative effect on firm value. Profitability does not mediate the influence of company growth on firm value. Capital structure is able to mediate the influence of company growth on firm value.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the distribution of lexical variations of the Angkola language in Paandgsidimpuan City. To find out the distribution, the researcher used the field pupuan method as a data collection technique. The research data uses a list of dialectological questions that have been validated by the Language Development and Development Agency, which contains 200 basic Swadesh vocabularies. The results of the analysis show that the lexical variations of the Angkola language in Paandgsidimpuan City show the highest distribution of variations, namely a group of two etymons with 53 glosses, a group of three etymons with 33 glosses, a group of four etymons with 6 glosses and a group of five etymons with 1 identified gloss.

Abstract

During this covid-19 pandemic, students are required and expected to be independent in the activities of the learning process with the help of technology. This study aims to see how the use of interactive e-modules in increasing student learning independence. The research method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques using literature studies from journals and previous research. Analysis of the literature review includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that the use of interactive e-modules in increasing students learning independence proved to be effective because the form of presentation was arranged systematically and attractively which was a combination of several media such as audio, video, images, text, evaluation and was also equipped with instructions for use.   Thus, interactive e-modules are very appropriate to be used in increasing student learning independence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how organizational cultural changes occur in the school environment, especially regarding organizational relationships with respect to the change of principals. Schools are one of the stakeholders in the world of education that have an important role in shaping the character and abilities of students. Schools carry out the learning process cannot be separated from the role of teachers to achieve goals. This type of research is a qualitative research using a case study approach. Data collection techniques used by observation, interviews, documentation. The communication approach and its implementation in educational leadership, namely: Leadership Theory, Human Relations Approach, Communication Approach as an Organizing Process, Approach to Organizational Structure and Functions. form synergistic cooperation to members by assigning tasks and responsibilities cooperatively and coordinatively in an effort to achieve school goals.

Abstract

  The aimed of this study was to determine the appropriate communication strategy in the delivery of the Semester Credit System program at MTsN 1 Medan. This is because there are still many students who do not understand the SKS program they are currently undergoing. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the strategy used in delivering the credit program at MTsN 1 Medan. The methodology used with a qualitative approach is by collecting data through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and conducting a literature review obtained from books, journals, seminar results and other scientific works relevant to the theme of communication strategy research. From the results of the study, it was found that there were communication strategies used, among others, by using redundancy, canalizing, informative, persuasive, educative, cursive methods, selecting communication media and using Dornyei taxonomy, namely the use of assistance. And as the results of this study, it can be concluded that the communication strategy in delivering the SKS program is effective as evidenced by a significant increase in students' understanding of the SKS program after the communication strategy is implemented.

Abstract

The implementation of the Legal Aid Post (Posbakum) by the District Court includes 3(three) scopes of legal services by the provisions contained in Perma No. 1 of 2014. The three scopes are fee waiver services, and holding hearings outside the court building, and providing Court Posbakum. In connection with the implementation of this Posbakum, the District Court only provides room facilities to Posbakum for three accredited legal aid institutions or advocate organizations. The handling of legal aid funds for each case will be submitted by the Court through the Local Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. However, this does not mean that the function of the facilitator can be ignored, considering that this Posbakum is located in the Constitutional Court, it is necessary to pay attention to the special mandate from the State Administrators to the Constitutional Court to ensure the success of free legal services for the poor. . Therefore, it is also hoped that the presence of Posbakum in the Constitutional Court can erode the negative and frightening stigma of the Court for the wider community. Abstract

This research is an applied research which aims to develop a Minimum Competency Assessment Instrument (AKM) for History Lessons based on infographics. Making the Minimum Competency Assessment Instrument (AKM) for History Lessons based on this infographic is in order to support the government's program related to the Minimum Competence Assessment (AKM) which was launched by the government as a substitute for the National Examination (UN). In this case, the making of History Questions as a simulation for Students and Handbook of Results for History Teachers in Medan. This research was conducted in three stages of trials and involved validation of material experts and also students who assessed the language component, media aspect, learning aspect, language aspect, material aspect. The final result of the three trials is very good value. Abstract

The aim of this study was to improve the students’ vocabulary and creativity using Draw Story in learning English. The method of this study was classroom action research which had three cycles whereby there were two meetings for each cycle. Each cycle consisted of four steps: planning, implementing, observation and reflection. The field notes and test constituted the research data. The qualitative data were analyzed through assembling the data, coding, comparing, building interpretations, and reporting the outcomes. The quantitative data were analyzed by comparing the mean scores of the pre-test and the post- tests. The research findings showed that draw story could improve: (1) the students’ vocabulary; (2) the students’ ability in identifying the use of appropriate words; (3) the students’ ability in spelling and pronouncing the words correctly; (4) the students’ creativity in drawing.

Abstract

This study aims to find a pattern or model of mentoring carried out by parents during online learning for children during the pandemic in the city of Medan, and to describe the barriers to parents when mentoring online learning for their children. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach to see the activities that occur to parents during learning assistance during the pandemic. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing teachers, school children and parents, observations were carried out at home while children were studying. The sample of this study was in 5 sub-districts where each sub-district was taken 1 urban village with 1 teacher, 10 parents, 10 school children/urban village. The results of the study, namely the first pattern or model carried out by parents, there are four categories of models, namely 1) the inactive participation model category means that parents do not at all accompany their children to study, children study independently, or study groups of friends, children's initiative to learn is needed if there is any questions or materials that are not understood by children waiting and expecting the presence of the teacher when they come to visit which is done twice a month in study groups. 2). the category of active parent model means that parents actively supervise, motivate children to learn when doing assignments from the teacher according to the parents' free time, 3) quite active, meaning that parents accompany their children to learn online, ask the teacher for assignments if the child or other person parents do not understand the material, and help their children learn by using old mobile phones 4) very active, meaning parents lend and buy, facilitate their children's learning facilities such as cellphones to maximize learning, do their children's assignments at the office, send them to school and send assignments via WA in to the teacher. The results of the second study are the obstacles experienced by parents when assisting children in learning, namely not having time because parents work, do not master their children's subject matter, do not have internet facilities, cellphones due to economic factors.

Abstract

  This study aims to describe the impact of changes in Organizational Culture at SMA UISU Pematangsiantar as a result of changes in the organizational structure set by the principal and explain how to solve problems that occur due to changes in organizational culture. The method used in this research is a qualitative case study. The instruments used are interviews, observation and documentation studies. Interviews were conducted on informants, namely the principal and supported by supporting informants consisting of representatives of the principal in the curriculum field, vice principal for student affairs, and teachers at UISU Pematangsiantar High School. Researchers conduct interviews at different times and places, researchers conduct interviews with unstructured methods so that researchers are more free to ask questions.
