Abstract

Religion has a belief about God (theology), because basically religion is a divine rule as a provision for its people to arrive at inner and outer happiness, both in this world and in the hereafter. Thus every religion crowns the teachings or science of divinity (theology) in their religion as the main lesson. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences and similarities of theological concepts in Islam and Christianity. Because it is known that these two major religions are a series of religious histories that are often discussed and debated in theological studies. Then this research is able to provide a true and precise explanation of theology in both religions, namely Islam and Christianity. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with a library research design. The data taken as well as the information that the researcher uses as a source are the Al-Quran and the Bible. Coupled with the literature of opinion leaders who wrote a lot about the explanation of the teachings of the two religions in this study. This research can produce knowledge and understanding of the teachings of God in Islam and Christianity, the knowledge of God is the most basic thing in every religious teaching. It can be concluded that the similarities between the concepts of Islamic and Christian theology are studying God, Sects and the Attributes of God, while the difference between the concepts of Islamic theology and Christian theology is that Islamic theology believes that God is One and practices the value of Unity, while Christian theology believes that God is One, but it is believed that there is another God called Relative Monotheism such as God the Father Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Abstract

Every soul in the human person have great  curiosity about a substance that created them or a substance that is believed to have power which can also be interpreted as a ruling spirit. Therefore, various views arose regarding what is called primitive belief or religion. The history of the emergence of primitive religion is increasingly being discussed by thinkers in modern to postmodern times because the emergence of religion often becomes a science used as research material by academics. Various theories were put forward as material for finding factual data related to the early emergence of primitive religion. The method used in this study is the library study method, the data obtained through books, journals or research related to the reconstruction of primitive religious theory. This study uses an anthropological approach to religion which seeks to understand religion by examining forms of religious practice that grow and develop in the life of primitive society. The results of the research reveal the reconstruction of primitive religious theories, various forms of primitive religion, theories that gave rise to primitive religious beliefs, and the characteristics of primitive religious adherents to the reconstruction of views on primitive religion. The result of this discussion is that the theory regarding the emergence of primitive religion put forward by Eastern scientists often encounters many disputes with the ideas of Western Orientalists. Most western orientalists assume that primitive religion emerged at the very beginning of human civilization itself, although there are several western theories which say that what is meant by primitive humans is a society far from civilization. This proves the importance of studying the reconstruction of primitive religious theory in the postmodern era.

Abstract

Point inertia classical Islamic theology thought would appear in the realm of reality if the thought process faced with the reality or the reality of empirical social human life is always growing and developing in line with the growth of science and technology. Mohammed Arkoun is Algerian intellectuals who tried to reread the building of Islamic thought in comprehensive both involving thought kalam (theology), Sufism, jurisprudence, ethics and interpretation. In the Indonesian context, Arkoun thought first recognized in 1987 in a discussion on Empathy Foundation. Muhammad Nasir Tamara, who introduced first by writing an article entitled Mohammed Arkoun and Applied Islamology. In some writings about modernity, Arkoun does not explicitly formulate the constraints of modernity, let alone challenge under him. According to Arkoun, modernity can be divided into two groups, namely, modernity "material" and modernity "intellectual" or "cultural". The former means that much progress has occurred in the outer frame of the human form, while the latter includes the methods, analysis tools, and intellectual siakp which gives the ability to better understand the reality. One anxiety Arkoun against Islamic theological thought is the separation between Islam and Islam actual or conceptual separation between theory and practice which he said is the legacy of Descartes. Grounding Islamic theology in the context of modern life does require accurate strategies and methodologies. Arkoun effort in the context of building reconstruction of Islamic theological thought is one of the strategies

In the development of religious studies, the Sikh religion is included in the top ten religions in the world. However, the importance of this study is studied, seeing that its development is still able to maintain its existence among the Muslim minority. This type of research is field research using a religious history approach, trying to see the process of development that occurred in the Sikh religion. The results of these findings show that the spread of the Sikh religion in Indonesia can be said to be growing with an increasing number of adherents. evidenced by several buildings of houses of worship for the Sikh religion, namely Gurdwara Shree at several points in Medan City including, Gurdwara Perbhandak on Jalan Teuku Umar, Gurdwara Shree Guru Tegh Bahadur area on Jalan Polonia and Gurdwara Shree Guru Nanak Dev Ji on Jalan Karya Murni. Factors causing the Sikh religion to continue to grow are because the Sikh religion does not recognize caste which results in social inequality for its adherents. Moreover, the Sikh religion is able to live side by side in the midst of the majority.

Abstract

Interfaith marriage is widely discussed and researched by kiyais or ustadz as well as scholars from various places. But none of the answers were lasting and the issues kept coming. By using the library research method or library research, it means collecting data using books or journals etc. It could be interpreted that related to interfaith marriages finds Surah Al-Baqarah: 221 that it is expressly prohibited, in the opinion that is pro-argument, that when you are not married it will have a worse impact, because you both like each other. As for the cons, they defended that in religious rules it is not permissible to marry someone who is not of the same faith.

Abstract

This study explores information about new religious movements regarding the concept of happiness according to Taoist communities in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan Province. The existence of this research is interesting to uncover, because New religious movements are also part of the New Age Movement, which is a global phenomenon that often does not materialize, develop very quickly and expand. Taoism as a minority religion in a multi-ethnic city coexists side by side, where the essence of Taoism is to achieve happiness to unite with God and live in harmony with nature without defying the laws of nature whether it is still in harmony with today's life. The method used in this study is a descriptive research method of analysis with a qualitative approach by examining references and related sources about the subject matter (Library Research ). Data collected through scientific literature. This literature uses a variety of library sources. Based on the results of the data obtained, the concept of happiness Taoism still shows its relevance today, although perhaps not all of it is relevant. Today's civilization is strongly colored by the dominance of science and technology. With the help of science and technology, modern man seeks to unlock the secrets of nature and life, as well as nature and the laws that govern it. Technology can also limit human freedom, because humans have to adapt to the devices and systems that have been created. Taoism is able to warn and at the same time invite people to realize that after all humans cannot live outside nature and without the support of nature.

Abstract

This scientific article discusses the symbols in advertisements which indicate an element of intent to make religious values a selling point (commodification). Advertising is one of the persuasive communication media that is deliberately made to attract audiences with the aim of obtaining economic benefits or benefits. The advertisements referred to in this study are advertisements for beauty products with the Safi brand, which are quite popular among Muslim women in Indonesia. Advertisers will do anything to make their products sell well in the market, including the practice of commodification. In this case, religion has changed its function to become an exchange value for material interests. The method used in this paper is qualitative-interpretative. The analytical knife used is Charles Sander Peirce's semiotics which is known as the triadic relation (object, interpretant, and representament). The results of this study indicate that symbols such as the selection of Muslim women actors are marked by the clothes used, friendly attitudes, smiles, thoroughness shown by the actors, the setting that reflects cleanliness, product taglines, and the halal label from MUI change religious values to no more than traded value.
