Abstract

Odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV) is a orchid virus which infection most widely reported and has spread widely in the world, including in Indonesia. Viral infections can degrade the quality of the orchid plant so it is economically detrimental. To study a disease infection, identification is carried out first to determine the most appropriate method of control. These identification techniques include variations in infection symptoms, host range testing, testing of viral titers, observation of particle morphology, genome detection, and analysis of DNA and amino acid sequences. Efforts to control disease can be done through preventive and eradicative actions chemically, biologically, and based on artificial intelligence.

Abstract

The phenomenon of floods in Indonesia has become a routine thing that happens every year, almost all areas that are lowlands often flood when the rainy season arrives. Flooding is caused by high rainfall where the ability of the soil to absorb water decreases along with the rapid development of land that was once a rainwater catchment area, consequently surface runoff becomes high. Pasi Pinang Village can be categorized as a very flood prone village in Meureubo Subdistrict, due to the low condition of this village and directly borders the Meureubo river. Many adverse effects caused by floods and cause losses to the local community. The phenomenon of floods in Indonesia has become a routine thing that happens every year, almost all areas that are lowlands often flood when the rainy season arrives. Flooding is caused by high rainfall where the ability of the soil to absorb water decreases along with the rapid development of land that was once an area. In this case a study on flood discharge analysis needs to be done in order to reduce the incidence of flooding in the village of Pasi Pinang. The method used in this study is the Nakayasu HSS method, aim of this study is to determine the amount of flood discharge that occurred in the Krueng Meureubo River Basin in Pasi Pinang Village. Total hydrograph discharge calculated using the Nakayasu HSS method is the watershed area (A) = 1961.53 km, length of main river (L) = 157.02 km, time delay (tg) = 9.507 hours, duration of rain (Tr) = 7 , 13 hours, the time from the beginning of the flood to the peak of the flood hydrograph (tp) = 15.21 hours, the time of discharge 0.3 times the peak flood discharge (t0.3) = 19.01 hours and the peak flood discharge (Qp) = 23.109 m3 / sec then the total hydrograph discharge obtained by the Nakayasu method is equal to = 2040.26 m3/sec.

Abstract

The project is an activity with a target that must be completed within a certain period, where in its implementation often obstacles arise between the elements involved in it. Problems that arise must be immediately handled properly and appropriately so that the achievement of results is as expected.. Conflict is a condition of the oc-currence of discrepancies between values or goals to be achieved, both existing in individuals and in relationships with others. The purpose of this research is to find out one of the main factors causing conflict in project implementation. The method used in this study is a combined method, namely quantitative and qualitative methods through the distribution of questionnaires with the limitation of project observations from 2009-2011 that have been completed, with funding coming from the Aceh Budget (APBA). Designation of respondents for all classifications of construction services, from medium classification (M) to large classification (B). Population Construction executing services from the data obtained were 502 contractors, using the Slovin formula found a sample of 84 contractors. The independent variables reviewed are the owner factor and the project condition factor, while the dependent variable is the success of the project. To analyze data using multiple linear regression with the help of Product Solutions and Statistical Services (SPSS) version 22, while the statistical analysis performed in data processing is to test the validity and reliability. Based on research shows that the owner factor is one of the maint factors that cause conflict in project implementation in Aceh Province.

Abstract

Liwa Botanical Garden is located in West Lampung Regency which has an area of 86.6 hectares and is one of the conservation of ornamental plants that presents the flora of the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. One of the flagship collections of this botanical garden is a native orchid. Disease infection is still a major obstacle in the cultivation and development of native orchid potential at Liwa Botanical Garden. Based on the results of previous studies, it is known that several individual natural orchid collections from Liwa Botanical Garden showed symptoms of fungal disease infections. Disease infections can inhibit plant growth and resistance and reduce the aesthetic value periodically. Symptoms of infection include necrotic patches on the upper surface of the leaf. This research was conducted to determine the identification of diseases and efforts to protect native orchids against fungal infections at Liwa Botanical Garden through a collection of samples that showed symptoms of infection, analysis of disease symptoms, and analysis of disease resistance levels. The results showed that the response of the native orchid at Liwa Botanical Garden to fungal infections was showed symptoms of wilting in the leaves, namely in the orchids Eria sp., Dendrobium sp., and Cymbidium sp. turns black on the edge of the leaf, Thrixspermum sp. The type of orchid most commonly infected with fungus is Cymbidium sp. a total of 8 samples, and Thrixspermum sp. 3 samples, Eria sp. as many as 4 samples, Dendrobium sp. and Calanthe triplicata as many as 6 samples. The type of native orchid that is most susceptible to fungal infections is Dendrobium sp. and Eria sp. with disease intensity of 74.11% and 22.3%.
