In Aceh there is a tradition applied to post-partum mothers called Madeung, which is a tradition carried out by women after giving birth for 44 days with a variety of applicable provisions. The purpose of this study was to determine the nutritional status of postpartum mothers based on the phenomenon of carrying out the tradition of "Badapu" as an effort to improve nutrition for postpartum mothers in West Aceh. This type of research is explanatory survey or explanation aimed at studying the patterns of consumption of traditional food "Badapu" in West Aceh (quantitative) and people's perceptions of traditional food Badapu (qualitative). The planned design is one group before and after intervention design, or one group pre and post test design. The results obtained illustrate the pattern of food consumption in postpartum mothers who carry out the tradition of Badapu, which varies slightly and is almost the same every day with the main menu of rice, eggs and fried fish. All postpartum mothers (100%) consume rice as a food source of carbohydrate as the biggest energy contributor. At least puerperal mothers who eat snacks because there are restrictions on being able to consume these foods. Abstract

Functional food has emerged as a potential intervention to prevent stunting in toddlers, utilizing locally available ingredients such as tempeh and clams. These foods possess several favorable attributes, including ease of accessibility, affordability, have high nutritional value and excellent digestibility in the human body. This study introduces a novel approach by formulating tempeh broth as a substitute for clam flour, aiming to improve nutritional status and prevent stunting. The primary objective was to develop tempeh broth with substituted clam flour and evaluate the impact on organoleptic properties and nutritional value. The study involved a laboratory experiment where tempeh broth was substituted with varying amounts of claims flour: 15g (P1), 30g (P2), and 45g (P3). Organoleptic evaluation was conducted by 37 panelists using a hedonic scale technique. The analysis of the organoleptic test data comprised the normality, Friedman, and Wilcoxon Test. The findings revealed that the tempeh broth formula with a 15g clam flour substitution (P2) was the most preferred in terms of color, aroma, and taste. The substitution of clam flour in tempeh also led to an increase in the nutritional value, specifically higher protein, PUFA, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B6, total folic acid, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, ferrous and zinc. In conclusion, increasing the amount of clam flour substitution in tempeh broth resulted in higher nutritional value and had a significant effect on the organoleptic properties. The findings support the continued exploration of local functional food interventions to address nutritional deficiencies and improve public health nutrition.

Abstract

This research uses Pre-Experimental Design without control group with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study was conducted in March 2021 in two districts that were confirmed to be inhabited by COVID-19 positive residents (Johan Pahlawan District and Meureubo District), West Aceh, Indonesia. Statistical analysis used: Hand-washing is one way to prevent COVID-19 transmission. This is essential because in this global pandemic, every community has the opportunity to catch COVID 19. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of WASH educational collaboration on farmers as an attempt to COVID-19 prevention. The population in the study is all farmers who live in these mentioned districts. There were 37 farmers in total. The sampling method used total sampling, namely 37 farmers who live in the areas that are confirmed to have positive patients of COVID 19. Data were analyzed using Univariate, Bivariate (Dependent T-test) and Multivariate with using logistic regression. The result shows that there is a significant influence between the collaboration of WASH Education on farmers as an effort to prevent COVID-19 with a statistical test value of P-Value <0.05. Collaboration on WASH education for farmers is very influential in preventing COVID-19. It is hoped that cross-sectoral involvement and roles can be maintained so that COVID 19 prevention behavior through WASH can continue to be applied. Educative collaboration of WASH impacts on the behaviour alteration toward farmers who live in the area confirmed to be infected by COVID 19.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition. This study aimed to see whether there is a definite relationship between maternal height, maternal education, maternal nutrition knowledge, maternal age, and maternal employment status against stunting cases in Manggeng village, Southwest Aceh Regency. Research is an observational analysis with a cross-sectional approach. They were held for two months (November September 2021) in Padang village Manggeng district of Southwest Aceh Regency. The sample withdrawal was a saturated sample of 45 mothers with toddlers ages 24-59. The results of the analysis concluded that there was no meaningful relationship between the characteristics of the mother of toddlers (height, age, education level, knowledge of nutrition, and employment status) or stunting factors that were examined against the number of stunting cases in Padang village which means the variables used statistically less precisely as variables predicator stunting rate. The level of risk of observed factors consisting of maternal height means that Stunting tendencies are riskier in mothers with short size than mothers with a high body, as well as the risk factors of the education level, Knowledge and status of the mother's work.
