Abstract

This research aims to find out how influential fashion is on changes in the dress style of students of the Communication Sciences study program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Uinsu class of 19. The type of research used is quantitative research by distributing questionnaires to students of Communication science class of 19. The results showed that fashion had an effect on changes in the style of dress of students in the Communication Science study program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Uinsu class of 19 by 77.5% and the remaining 22.5% was influenced by other factors or it could also be said to have no effect.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss information systems for monitoring the health of pregnant women in the 3 phases of trimesters and child immunization. In the city of Padangsidempuan, the high mortality rate in pregnant women and stunting in children is mostly due to the lack of concern for mothers to routinely carry out health monitoring and immunization for their children at the puskesmas. Some of them only came for the first monitoring and did not come again for the next visit. Apart from that, the puskesmas also still uses ledgers as a place to record monitoring results and data on every pregnant woman and child whose immunizations are considered to be less effective. So a monitoring information system is needed to assist the puskesmas in processing patient data and monitoring results and providing notifications to remind each mother for the next monitoring visit.

Abstract

This study focuses on the effective marketing communication strategies of Got Beef Restaurant through the social media platform Instagram. The study analyzes the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages of the marketing communication strategy. The research findings reveal that Got Beef strategically determines market segmentation based on geographical, demographic, psychographic, and learning method factors. The target market consists of young people and women interested in the culinary experiences, especially burgers. Got Beef's positioning is related to the theme of feminism, aiming to differentiate itself from competitors and build a strong brand image. In terms of implementation, the message strategy used by Got Beef is persuasive, employing informal language and visually appealing content to engage with the audience. Instagram is chosen as the main communication medium due to its popularity and reach. The evaluation stage assesses the cognitive, affective, and conative effects on consumers by measuring understanding, emotional connection, and actions taken. This study suggests improvements in message clarity, focus on Instagram reels features, and the recruitment of social media or digital marketing experts. Overall, this study provides insights into the effective marketing communication strategies of Got Beef and highlights areas that need improvement.

Abstract

Technological capabilities in the current era are very advanced as a result of the times. One form of technological development that is currently widely used by all groups including students is the TikTok application. This study aims to determine how the motives for using the TikTok application in students of the Communication Science Study Program Class of 2019, Mulawarman University. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and uses the Uses and Gratification theory. The techniques used in collecting data are observation, interviews, and documentation. There are three informants obtained through purposive sampling technique. Data processing in this study used data analysis techniques from Matthew B. Miles and Michael Huberman. Based on the results of the study, the motives that encourage the use of the TikTok application by students of the Mulawarman University Communication Science study program are relevant to the theory of media use motives expressed by McQuail, that there are four motives that become the reasons and encouragement of students choosing to use the TikTok application, namely diversion motives, personal relationship motives, personal identity motives, and surveillance motives. With the results showing that the dominant motive for using the TikTok application is as a diversionary motive related to the desire to escape from daily problems, release work fatigue, and the desire to seek entertainment or diversion.

Abstract

Cyber ​​Public Relations (CPR) is a recent innovation in public relations driven by advances in Internet technology. PR used to use traditional mass media such as television, newspapers and radio to communicate with the public. However, over time, many companies and agencies have switched to using the Internet as an advertising vehicle. This study aims to understand and improve the reputation of Bappedalitban Kota Samarinda CPR practices. The research methods used are descriptive and qualitative, collecting data through observations and interviews. Three informants were selected based on certain criteria. Data Analysis Using Interactive Analysis Techniques by Mathew B. Miles and Michael Huberman. The results of the study show that Bappedaritvan Kota Samarinda's CPR practice includes her four components of CPR. First, fact-finding shows that website and social media usage is still suboptimal and there is no PR department dedicated to it. Secondly, the plan will be carried out by actively disseminating the activities of Bape Dalit Ban in Samarinda City through its website and social media. Thirdly, communication includes his social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Tiktok, etc., but he actively uses them, since the majority of Internet users in Samarinda City Bappedalitban are parents. Only Instagram and Facebook are. While the website only lists phone numbers as a public interaction feature, social media uses DM and comment features. Fourth, assessments are conducted by Samarinda's response team every 3 months, 6 months and 1 year. The Samarinda City Government issues awards for the openness of public information and social media activity. The implementation of CPR is expected to improve the reputation of Bappedalitban Kota Samarinda.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that influence the use of MiChat as a transaction tool in the city of Medan and explain the mechanism of the transaction system. The research method used is descriptive research, which aims to provide an explanation and validation of a phenomenon under study. This descriptive research is focused on analyzing the use of MiChat social media as a means of sexual transactions in the city of Medan. The research approach used is qualitative, which produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words. In this study, researchers used a qualitative approach with the aim of uncovering data described by data sources and participants, so that they can obtain quality research results naturally to obtain quality results from the research conducted.

Abstract

For library development, one of the most important aspects to consider is the collection of information. The purpose of this study focuses on the effect of the availability of online proquest journals on meeting user information needs in the Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences USU. This type of research is descriptive research using qualitative approach methods. This research data collection technique is through observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study is the availability of online ProQuest journals in the Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, based on good perceptions of library users, and the affirmation of library users that they are looking for reference materials for lecture assignments from online ProQuest journals rather than libraries. It has been used effectively by library patrons as a resource to aid in the creation of coursework. This journal provides a source of current and accurate information that can be used as a reference when completing courses and research. Thus, Proquest Journal has a significant impact on users' information demands. Library of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of North Sumatra.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the governance of electronic-based medical records in making outpatient polyclinic reports using the agile method. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. After analyzing the needs of the polyclinic reporting system, this study presents the steps of implementing the agile method of extreme programming. By using this method, a system that is adaptable, responsive, and focused on user needs can be developed. The results show that the use of the agile extreme programming method in the development of an electronic-based medical record system provides significant benefits. The process of planning, designing, coding, testing, and releasing is done iteratively and collaboratively. With this approach, the system can be continuously improved and adjusted to meet changing user needs and priorities. By describing the system design flowmap, context diagram, DFD and ERD to visualize the relationship between the components in the system that provides a systematic description of the stages of the report generation process. In conclusion, electronic-based medical record governance in making outpatient polyclinic reports using the agile extreme programming method is an effective and efficient approach. By combining the advantages of agile and extreme programming methods, an adaptive and responsive system can be developed.

Abstract

Public relations is a group of people who pay attention to the same things, have the same goals, and the same interests. Public is a collection consisting of a small number and can also be a large number. Public relations is always related to communication. Communication is an important aspect of life. This study aims to educate that the problem of femenism is a big and complicated problem. Public relations and journalists must take part in this movement where public relations as spokespersons and journalists who are a forum for liaison between public relations and the community both through mass media, online media, and most interestingly through social media. This research was conducted through observation to find out the direct situation of how the people of Medan responded to public relations efforts in handling feminism actions and cases in the city of Medan. The process of data collection and information collection is carried out in the form of primary and secondary data collection. Primary data were obtained from field observations in the form of direct visits to the research location by conducting direct interviews with resource persons, namely Mr. Heriyono and Mrs. Nuri and several UINSU students. Secondary data is obtained from: articles, literature, theses, scientific journals, and scientific reports related to public relations and feminist action through online media. The data obtained from the results of this study were collected, then processed and analyzed using descriptive qualitative research methods

Abstract

This study aims to determine the communication strategy carried out by the Digital Media Officer (DMO) of City Centrum Mall Samarinda in managing Instagram @city_centrum. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research with data sources obtained from literature studies and also field research, namely interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model by Miles and Huberman. The initial problem of this research is the lack of interaction with followers. In the results of this study, the DMO team has implemented five stages of communication strategies in managing the @city_centrum Instagram account. Research indicators show that the DMO team is conducting research for its Instagram management. However, the team did not observe a structured strategy. The Planning indicator shows that the team plans aspects of the communication strategy, but it is not structured and has no SOP. The Implementation indicator proves that the content is not focused in accordance with the objectives of @city_centrum as brand awareness, lack of mutual communication. Evaluation Indicators show a team that evaluates every day and has KPIs but is not evaluated every content release. The Reporting indicator shows a team that makes written and unwritten reports, and the average percentage of @city_centrum account engagement is still below average. In conclusion, although the team has implemented all five stages of the communication strategy, it is still unstructured. The strategy should be made more structured.
