Abstract

Background: Skills are the focus of experts, one of the skills that must be achieved is the skill of writing rhymes. Purpose: this study aims to determine the extent to which students are able to make poetry works that are carried out at SDN SIRNAGALIH 2, Bogor Regency. Design and methods: The type of research method used in this research is Descriptive Qualitative Method. Results: The results of the analysis of several rhymes written by class V students have fulfilled the theoretical rhyme requirements (Masruchin, 2017). However, a rhyme that rhymes a-a-a-a is found, but the results of this paper can still be said to be a rhyme because it is in accordance with the theory (Attas, 2022) and (Pasaribu, 2021). The students' rhymes written in one line have 6-14 syllables but are still said to be rhymes because they are in accordance with the theory (Riandi, 2020) and (Mutohharoh et al., 2018). It can be concluded that not all rhymes written by students of class V at SDN SIRNAGALIH 2 meet the theoretical rhyme requirements (Masruchin, 2017).

Abstract

Background: Folklore is cultural literature that is passed down by word of mouth to be passed down from generation to generation to the next generation. However, there are many generations today who are not aware of the existence of folklore or storytelling, even though there is a lot of learning involved. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to find out the story of Sum Ringo in the village of South Sumuranja as well as to analyze the intrinsic and extrinsic elements contained in the story of Sum Ringo for elementary school children. Design and methods: The method used in this research is ethnographic method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this ethnographic method are through interviews, observation and documentation. Results: The results of the study show that the story of Sum Ringo is a story formed from an activity carried out by the community. The story has indeed been trusted by the surrounding community which has been passed down by word of mouth from generation to generation to the next generation. Likewise, some elementary school children already know the story. The story contains lessons for children. From the results of the analysis, the story contains intrinsic elements consisting of themes, plot, characters and characterizations, setting, point of view and message, as well as other elements. external which consists of the cultural background and moral values ​​contained in the story.

Abstract

Background:  A poster is a graphic design that contains a composition of pictures and letters on large or small paper. Posters have the power to convey messages visually and with the right supporting elements, the ideas in the poster can be easily remembered by the target audience. Purpose: This study aims to determine the extent of student understanding and student success in making educational posters about learning the solar system for grade 6 SDN Banjarsari 01. Design and methods: This research used mixed analysis methods, namely qualitative and quantitative. The approach used in this research is using a mixed approach. The data collection technique was carried out by analyzing the solar system posters made by grade 6 students based on the 5 correct criteria of Schwab's poster theory. This data analysis was carried out by collecting posters that had been made by students in grade 6 at SDN Banjarsari 01. Results: Research results Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that of the 16 posters that had been made and collected by grade 6 students at SDN Banjarsari 01 did not meet the 5 criteria of Schwab theory, only there were 7 posters that met the criteria of Schwab theory but only in the Getting attention and Showing Advantage categories, the rest only met the Getting Attention category. There are several posters that meet the conventions of poster language.

Abstract

Background:  This research is motivated by the problem of the importance of instilling character values ​​from an early age to grade 2 elementary school students. The title of this study was taken because the researcher wanted to identify the content of character values ​​in the text of fables contained in thematic books on the theme of 7th grade 2 SD based on the Guidelines for Implementation of Character Education as an effort to build student development in education applied by the Ministry of Education and Culture (2011). Purpose: This study was to identify the content of character values ​​in the text of fables contained in thematic books on the theme of 7th grade 2 SD based on the Guidelines for Implementation of Character Education. Design and methods: This study used a qualitative research method with a content analysis research design. The source of the data used is the thematic book of the 7th grade class 2 SD theme. The instrument used is based on the indicators contained in the Guidelines for Implementation of Character Education implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture (2011). Results: The results of this study indicate that the fables contained in the thematic books on the 7th grade of 2nd grade elementary school contain character values ​​in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Culture's Guidelines for Implementation of Character Education (2011). The character values ​​found are honest, discipline, hard work, curiosity, friendly/communicative, peace-loving, social care, and responsibility. There are ten-character values ​​that are not contained in the 7th grade 2 SD theme book, namely religious character values, tolerance, creative, independent, democratic, national spirit, love for the motherland, respect for achievement, love to read, care for the environment. Of the 8-character values ​​found in the fairy tale book, there are 2 most dominant character values, namely the character values ​​of hard work and love of peace. Then in the suitability analysis that the character values ​​contained in the fables are in accordance with the thematic books on the 7th grade class 2 elementary school theme.

Abstract

Background:  Reading is one of the important aspects that must be mastered by students, speech is also an important aspect in this study because it is to train students' confidence from an early age. Purpose: This study aims to determine the ability to read speech in grade 3 students of MI Nurul Ikhsan. Design and methods: This research is using quantitative descriptive methods. Results: The results of this study indicate that students who get the very good category are 10.5% for those who get the good category are 24%. which is commonly obtained by students, namely in the less good category as much as 31%. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ability to read speech in grade 3 students can be said to be not good.

Abstract

Background:  Swearing words are not only used in real human life or on social media but are also often found in movies and the use of swearing words in movies must have a specific purpose one of which is to attract the attention of the audience. Purpose: This research aimed at revealing the types of swearing for the characters in the Birds of Prey movie. Design and methods: This research used a qualitative method. The researcher used Andersson and Trudgill’s theory to analyze the data. Results: The result of the research showed that there are four types of swearing; expletive swearing, abusive swearing, humorous swearing, and auxiliary swearing.

Abstract

Background:  Many young people now are starting to like reading novels. On this occasion, this research will discuss the translation of novels from English to Indonesian. Novel is a long prose narrative that deals with human life. In this research, the authors focus on faithful translation found in English novels and translated into indonesian. Focused on analyzing how faithful translation is applied by translators in translating novels using Newmark's theory. Purpose: This research aims to determine faithful translation in the novel City of Fallen Angels In the English-Indonesia Version. Design and methods: The method of this research was a descriptive method, using a quantitative approach. The researcher read the novel in both English and Indonesian as part of the data collection process, and then examined the faithful translation. Results: The results obtained from this research indicate that there are thirty data which are of the faithful translation type. Faithful translation based on these findings it can be concluded that translators maintain grammatical and lexical degrees when translating cultural terms. The translator tries to communicate in the target language according to the story events that occur. The faithful translation method emphasizes the source language, it means trying to produce the contextual meaning of the source language but still with the grammatical structure of the target text.

Abstract

Background:  A language translator of literary texts for children is not an easy task, translators of literary works face obstacles in translating the author's moral messages, idiolects, SL cultural boundaries and SL writing styles. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the translation of fairy tale genre children's literature, the translation method used and the quality of the translation of the fairy tale into Indonesian. Design and methods: The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method. Brothers Grimm's fairy tale, The Seven Crows, became the topic of research. Results: The results of the study show that the Seven Crows fable has more figurative language. Several translation methods used in fables include paraphrasing, adaptation, idiomatic, literal, free, and semantic methods. The method used can maintain the language style of fairy tales in the original language and produce translations that are accurate and easy to read, even though the reception is low.

Abstract

Background: Beginning reading is one of the most basic skills for students and as a tool to find out the meaning that has been learned in learning at school, beginning reading is one of the activity programs specifically designed for students who have just entered elementary school. The silaba method is a syllable method that presents words into syllables and then assembles syllables into words with the aim that students who are unable to read words can read words. Purpose: This study aims to determine whether the silaba method can improve the beginning reading activities of grade 1 students at SDN Banjarsari 01. Design and methods: This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is a qualitative descriptive method. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at Banjarsari 01 Elementary School, Banjarsari Village, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency. The instrument used in this study was an interview guide instrument. The technique used in this study was a data collection technique, which in this study used data collection in the form of observation, interviews and documentation, the data analysis technique used in this study is an interactive data analysis technique in conducting data analysis with a model according to Milles and Huberman. Results: The results of this study indicate that the silaba method is a suitable method to be applied in beginning reading activities because it greatly facilitates students in reading skills for grade 1 students at SDN Banjarsari 01”. This silaba method also facilitates teachers in learning activities. The media needed by the teacher in this silaba method is quite simple and also easily understood by all students. Beginning reading for grade 1 students using the silaba method meets the indicator criteria for the achievement of students' reading activities.

Abstract

Background:  Children's stories are one of the works of children's literature. Children's literature is literature that is read to children. The content of children's literature is determined by the level of intellectual and emotional development of the child. Purpose: Study this is intended for analyzing conversation transactional which is involved in conversation between characters in story Little Abid. Design and methods: This research use a descriptive-qualitative research method, where this research tries to describe phenomena related to the experiences studied, such as behavior, perceptions, motivation, and so on in a holistic manner. Results: The results of this research shown that the conversations found in Little Abid's book consist of 80% complementary conversations, 0% cross conversations, and 20% hidden conversations. Complementary transactions are complementary events occurring between the same two ego states (attitudes) and can occur between two different but complementary ego states (attitudes). Cross transactions, namely transactions occur when messages sent by the ego state do not receive the correct response or do not receive the response expected by the messenger (communicator). Hidden transactions are complex events involving two or more ego states.
