This research aims to determine the relationship between self-control and self-esteem and narcissistic behavior in adolescent Tiktok users at SMA Negeri 2 Gorontalo City. This research uses a correlational quantitative design with a population of 840 students, a sample size of 90 students using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection method uses a self-control scale, self-esteem scale and narcissistic behavior scale using multiple correlation analysis techniques (Multivariate Correlation) with the SPSS 23.0 for Windows program. Data analysis on the correlation coefficient between self-control variables and narcissistic behavior resulted in a value of R = -0.514 p = 0.000 and the relationship between self-esteem and narcissistic behavior was R = -0.668 p = 0.000. This means, it can be said, there is a significant negative relationship between self-control and narcissistic behavior and there is also a significant negative relationship between self-esteem and narcissistic behavior in teenage TikTok users. Furthermore, the results of multiple correlations to measure the relationship between self-control and self-esteem with narcissistic behavior obtained a value of R = 0.670, R Square 0.449 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This is shows, there is a relationship between self-control and self-esteem and narcissistic behavior in teenage TikTok users at SMA Negeri 2 Gorontalo City.

Abstract

The presidential election in Indonesia will be held in 2024, but the excitement of conversations on various social media platforms has been felt at this time. This political party, which is held every 5 years, has attracted a lot of public attention, one of which is through political advertising on social media. Social media is relatively dominant in human use today, and until the way we interact and communicate using social media can understand identity in context is one area that attracts a lot of interest in using it. It is considered like a boon, as a way to connect many people and streamline communication. One of Baudrillard's thoughts is simulation in social media which becomes simulacra in digital advertising. Humans today live in a world full of simulation, almost nothing is real outside of simulation, nothing is genuine and can be imitated. Industrial culture disguises the distance between facts and information, between information and entertainment, between entertainment and political interests. The purpose of this research is to evaluate symbols or signs in political advertisements for the 2024 presidential election on social media. The method will be carried out with netnography through big data analysis by finding simulacra signs in digital advertisements for the 2024 presidential election. The existence of digital advertising in elections offers a great opportunity to increase voter participation and engagement. However, keep in mind that the use of digital advertising also brings challenges and responsibilities that must be handled wisely by all relevant parties.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between organizational culture, organizational commitment and leadership that can affect organizational performance in non-profit organizations. This research uses a quantitative approach using the PLS (Partial Least Square) based SEM (Structural Equation Model) method using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The sample in this study were employees of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The data collection technique for this research uses a questionnaire. The variables used in this study are organizational culture, organizational commitment, leadership, and organizational performance. The results of this study include organizational culture and leadership directly on organizational performance, while leadership can significantly increase the influence of organizational culture on company performance. In addition, organizational commitment is known to have no significant effect on organizational performance and cannot increase the influence of organizational culture on organizational performance. In this study, it is suggested that stakeholders for the Ministry of Education and Culture can increase their attention to factors that can affect the improvement of organizational performance, especially organizational culture and leadership.

Abstract

Rohingya refugees in Indonesia were previously welcomed with open arms. However, recently there has been a rejection of the presence of Rohingya refugees in Aceh, both those already in refugee camps and those who just want to dock on the coast of Aceh. This transnational cultural conflict indicates the failure of the communication and interaction process between the two cultures. By applying and extending the face-negotiation theory (FNT) that explains the management style of intercultural conflict, this study explores the case of Rohingya refugee rejection in Aceh with FNT using the content analysis method of media coverage in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to assess and identify the conflict management styles of the stakeholders in the case. As a result, the government and parliament at the central level tend to display an integrating style, while the government in Aceh and DPRA tend to show an avoiding style, while community leaders and Acehnese citizens who are directly dealing with Rohingya refugees tend to dominate.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of gender diversity in boards of directors on various aspects of corporate performance. Through the literature review method, this research gathers empirical evidence to assess how gender diversity affects risk-taking, social responsibility, and decision-making processes within the firm. The results show that the presence of women on boards can contribute positively to corporate performance, innovation, investment, and ESG issues, while bringing diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise that support more effective decision-making and risk management. On the other hand, the study also recognizes that underrepresentation of women may reduce the benefits of gender diversity. Furthermore, the presence of women on boards is associated with reduced agency problems, increased dividend payouts and more responsible tax avoidance practices. However, there are mixed views regarding the impact of gender diversity, emphasizing the importance of considering the firm-specific context in evaluating the impact of gender diversity on firm performance. This study contributes to future research by providing a broader and deeper knowledge base on the topic of gender diversity in the context of business and management.

Abstract

The implementation of policy measures aimed at granting educational autonomy to schools, so granting them substantial managerial authority, has not effectively resolved the issue at hand. School-based administration only focuses on substantive education service matters, whereas the Ministry of Education and Culture oversees public schools and the Ministry of Religion oversees religious schools. This study employs a strategic management methodology to reveal diverse perspectives on these matters inside the organization's strategic operations. Interviews conducted with 30 high-ranking officials from the two technical organizations responsible for overseeing regional education services in the province indicated that there was still a significant disparity of around 50% between the desired number of teachers in the regions and the actual number of teachers already employed. Interviews conducted with 60 school principals in various regions have revealed a significant scarcity of teachers and a prevalence of instructors with subpar qualifications. Observations and document analysis confirm the existence of objective reality, identify obstacles, and offer data for developing initiatives to enhance service quality. This study presents a problem-solving framework known as the "Four strategic approaches" to enhance the quality of educational public services. This strategy model focuses on two service components that provide challenges: (1) the provision of comprehensive educational services by school institutions, and (2) the administration of education services by the regional Ministry of Education and Culture and Ministry of Religion. The text examines the primary stakeholders in secondary education services and presents four strategies to mitigate both direct and indirect risks and provide solutions.

Abstract

Indonesia and Chile formed a comprehensive trade cooperation called the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA). Empirically, the relationship between Indonesia and Chile is not strong, so it is interesting to see how are the dynamics of the relationship between the two countries which are non-traditional partners but established comprehensive trade cooperation. Therefore, this literature review found 25 literatures that have discussed the dynamics of the relationship between Indonesia and Chile. This literature review maps the literature using the taxonomy method into three main topics, namely (1) the historical relationship between Indonesia and Chile, (2) the political relationship between Indonesia and Chile, (3) the economic relationship between Indonesia and Chile. This literature review found that the relationship between Indonesia and Chile in various fields shows a fluctuating trend because they still focus on traditional partners, the relationship between the two countries is pragmatic, lack of political will, and lack of information about each other's characteristics.
