Abstract

This study aims to describe and illustrate the communication strategy of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) implemented by Pabrik Gula Tjoekir towards Islamic boarding schools (Pondok Pesantren) in Cukir Village, Diwek, Jombang, East Java. The research method is a qualitative approach using primary data based on interviews, observations, and documentation, as well as secondary data from various sources such as journals, articles, and related literature. The research subjects consist of the Assistant Secretary General and the Assistant Human Resources of Pabrik Gula Tjoekir as the parties responsible for CSR activities, and the Islamic boarding schools in the surrounding area, namely Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng, Pondok Pesantren Madrasatul Qur’an, Pondok Pesantren Putri Walisongo Cukir, and Pondok Pesantren Darul Falah IV Cukir as the recipients of CSR. The results indicate that the communication strategy involves determining the communication targets, selecting the media, and crafting the message, with the decision-making process involving key stakeholders, namely village heads and boarding school caretakers. The CSR focuses more on social and educational aspects, and there are discrepancies in CSR implementation related to the understanding of the surrounding community about the CSR concept.

Abstract

This study examines the values of interfaith tolerance in the digital da’wah of Habib Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar through the "Login" content on Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel. Utilizing a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, this research analyzes five videos featuring dialogues between Habib Ja'far and religious figures from Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Confucianism, and Islam. The analysis reveals that Habib Ja'far effectively conveys messages of tolerance by emphasizing values such as mutual respect, understanding, and acceptance of diversity. These values are presented with a humorous style that lightens the atmosphere. Habib Ja'far not only fosters an inclusive interfaith dialogue but also encourages viewers to practice tolerance in their daily lives. This study underscores the significance of social media as a platform for da’wah in promoting interfaith understanding within an increasingly pluralistic society.

Abstract

Islamophobia is a phenomenon that occurs in the world, especially among people who live in the western part of the world. With his fame and support from football fans, Moh. Salah is not afraid to show his identity as a Muslim footballer. This article examines the role of the media and the existence of Moh. It is wrong to reduce anti-Islam sentiment among European society, especially in the UK. The research in this article follows qualitative methods so it is in the qualitative descriptive category because it collects data and information about the research object. The findings in the article are that mass media and social media provide positive reporting regarding Moh's identity. Salah as a Muslim footballer has an influence on differentiating the public's perception of anti-Islam to pro-Islam, thereby reducing the phenomenon of Islamophobia in British society.

Abstract

This research examines in depth the preaching of Gus Miftah at Pasar Kembang Yogyakarta by highlighting two main problems, namely the message of preaching and the language style of Gus Miftah's preaching. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis research type. Content analysis is a research tool that concentrates on actual content and media characteristics, in this case the preaching content of Gus Miftah @GusMiftahOfficial episode "Sarkem Workers Ask to Be Converted to Gus Miftah, Mashallah!!! Latest Gus Miftah 2024”. The data analysis stage uses the analysis techniques proposed by Milles and Huberman starting from reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusions. The results of research on Gus Miftah's preaching at Pasar Kembang Yogyakarta show: First, Gus Miftah conveyed preaching messages that were relevant to the daily lives of women night workers, such as patience, tawakkal, social concern, courage in doing good deeds, and guarding against disgrace. Gus Miftah also conveyed messages from practical, physical, and health aspects. Second, Gus Miftah's preaching language style has several characteristics that make it effective in conveying preaching messages to female night workers at Pasar Kembang Yogyakarta, namely, light and easy to understand language, emphasis on reason and logic, and a humorous language style. Gus Miftah succeeded in creating a space for dialogue that was more open, less rigid, and seemed to be in harmony with his mad'u.

Abstract

Communication is a key element in da'wah, an interactive process that not only demands the delivery of religious messages but also requires an effective approach that suits the needs and context of the audience. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis to discuss the elements of communication in da'wah and its implementation in the digital age, revealing the importance of effective strategies in maintaining the authenticity of the da'wah message while meeting the demands of the times. The study reflects on the Prophet's method of da'wah, which combined correspondence, patience, gentleness, and prayer, adjusting strategies based on specific situations and encouraging two-way communication to measure the effectiveness of da'wah. In the digital age, da'wah strategies must adapt to technology without losing the humanist touch and empathy that characterized the Rasulullah SAW when da'wah.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the significant role of Kyai Haji Muhammad Ilyas Ruhiat in Islamic educational dakwah through Pondok Pesantren Cipasung. Kyai Ilyas, a prominent scholar known for his moderate and inclusive approach, successfully modernized the pesantren education system by integrating religious knowledge and general sciences. His educational dakwah not only focused on religious teachings but also shaped the character of students to be prepared for global challenges. This study employs a descriptive biographical method, where data is gathered from relevant literature and analyzed to gain a deeper understanding of Kyai Ilyas's dakwah strategies. The findings show that his approach to pesantren education has become a model for Islamic educational development in Indonesia and significantly contributes to the formation of a well-mannered and knowledgeable society.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to look at the phenomenon of religious populism in the context of identity politics and how it impacts the approach to Islamic preaching in the digital era. Where there is a shift in Islamic preaching from a traditional approach to a more interactive and social media-based approach. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study. The results of the study show that religious populism increases social polarization and influences the content and style of preaching communication, which is more exclusive and emotional. In addition, the findings show that preachers (Dai) respond to this phenomenon in various ways, such as supporting populist narratives and preaching in a moderate manner to reduce social conflict. The new findings of this study lie in the strategic analysis of Islamic preaching in responding to religious populism from 2015 to 2024. By integrating the views of modern Muslim scholars on political communication, digital discourse, and da'wah theory. Previous studies have not discussed this approach comprehensively, especially those focusing on the dynamics of social media and religious identity. Therefore, it is hoped that this research will provide theoretical and practical assistance in building a da'wah strategy that is appropriate to the socio-political challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

This research seek to understand how the radio industry operates in the era of media convergence, particularly in relation to media commodification. Here, the researcher will specifically describe the behavior of media workers in using pseudonyms in radio broadcasts. The research object is located at Radio Pop FM Semarang, Central Java. This research uses media economics theory with a political economy perspective. Additionally, the researcher will also analyze from the perspective of commodification, where one of the indicators is to obtain profit. This research will examine how media commodification practices at Radio POP FM are related to pseudonym sales strategies. This research uses a critical paradigm with a qualitative approach. The result of this research is that the use of pseudonyms or fake names in broadcasting media constitutes the commodification of names within the media itself.

Abstract

Digital transformation has presented great challenges and opportunities in the spread of Islamic da'wah, especially in reaching the millennial and Z generations who are very active in the digital world. The urgency of this topic lies in the need for a da'wah strategy that is adaptive and relevant to technological developments and the information consumption behavior of modern society. This research aims to examine the marketing strategy of da'wah through digital media in attracting people to study Islam. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques based on library research, as well as content analysis of relevant literature and academic documentation. The results of the study show that effective digital da'wah marketing strategies include audience segmentation, edutainment-based content development, strategic use of social media platforms, and technology-based learning personalization. Digital media is proven to increase accessibility, interactivity, and audience engagement in Islamic learning. This study concludes that structured and innovative digital da'wah can expand the reach of Islamic propagation while strengthening the spiritual understanding of modern society. Further studies are recommended to explore the effectiveness of specific platforms through empirical approaches and direct engagement with users.

Abstract

The Trend of photo dump story templates has recently emerged as a distinct phenomenon on Instagram, with many users, especially those from Generation Z, actively engaging in it. According to Albert Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory, individuals learn behaviors through observation of their environment, including content on social media. This study aims to analyze the photo dump template trend through Bandura’s perspective among Gen Z adolescents, using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and data analyzed through Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results show that this phenomenon occurs through three main stages: observation, where users view others’ Instagram stories and are cognitively influenced to imitate them; modeling, where they replicate the trend by editing and uploading personal photos without concerns of plagiarism; and self-efficacy, where users gain confidence from the freedom to express themselves without the pressure of appearing aesthetically perfect. From Bandura’s viewpoint, this trend represents a form of social learning that has become a new cultural and social norm on Instagram, where blurry, candid, or visually plain photos are increasingly appreciated for their authenticity. For Gen Z, photo dumps offer a way to express their lives honestly, resist excessive validation, and avoid the social pressure to maintain an idealized online persona.
