Abstract

This paper aims to study and analyze how far the roles of the Persians to the glory of the Abbasid dynasty during the Caliph Harun al-Rashid (786-809 AD). The research method is a historical method which is a process of critically examining and analyzing past records and relics. This study concludes that the reign of Caliph Harun al-Rashid was a period of Persian domination. This is because first The policy of the Abbasid dynasty in the early days was to provide great opportunities and opportunities for the Mawali of Persian descent in various fields of government. Second, the strong Persian influence is marked by the move of the capital to Baghdad, which is located in an area that is heavily influenced by Persian culture. Third, the position of prime minister (wazir) was entrusted to a family of Persian descent, namely the Barmak family. The ministers of Persian descent were given full powers to carry out their duties in the government. Fourth, the Baitul Hikmah Library which is a center for research, development, and transfer of knowledge is led by a Persian and employs many Persians.

Abstract

This research focuses on the political preaching of Haji Agus Salim, who was a charismatic cleric and accomplished diplomat who fought to defend Indonesia's sovereignty in the international arena. The aim of this research is how Haji Agus Salim's political preaching is, by presenting information about the biography, works, thoughts, and political preaching movements of Haji Agus Salim. Using qualitative descriptive methods. The results obtained in this writing are that Haji Agus Salim has a fairly long life track record in the history of the Indonesian struggle, his intelligence and skill in debating are known throughout the country, and his ability to master foreign languages ​​made him very popular among the Dutch government at that time. Haji Agus Salim is also listed as one of the Indonesian independence fighters who was later nicknamed The Grand Old Man. Haji Agus Salim carries out political da'wah through his works, starting from his writings and his ideological understanding of aqidah and syariah. His political da'wah movements can be seen from his participation in Sarekat Islam and the founding of the Jong Islamieten Bond and Volksraad to his heroism in Indonesian independence.

Abstract

Dakwah dalam pengertian sederhana berarti menyampaikan pesan dan seruan kepada khalayak ramai untuk menjalankan perintah agama dan menjauhi apa-apa yang dilarang melalui berbagai media.1 Dalam konteks ke Indonesiaan khususnya Betawi, penyebaran Islam yang terjadi di Indonesia tidaklah terlepas dari peran para mubaligh yang tak kenal lelah menyampaikan dakwah Islam ke berbagai penjuru Nusantara. KH Muhammad Muhajirin Amsar ad-Dari salah satu ulama dari betawi. Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengetahui dakwah pendidikan KH Muhammad Muhajirin Amsar ad-Dari, Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana dakwah pendidikan KH Muhammad Muhajirin Amsar ad-Dari dengan  memaparkan  informasi  mengenai biografi,  karya,  pemikiran  dan  gerakan  dakwah  KH Muhammad Muhajirin Amsar ad-Dari. Menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penulisan ini yaitu KH Muhammad Muhajirin Amsar ad-Dari dilahirkan di Kampung Baru, Cakung, Jakarta Timur pada 10 November 1924 dengan nama Muhammad Muhajirin Amsar ad-Dari.  Beliau mengajar di lembaga Dar al-'Ulum al-Diniyyah dan berhasil menyelesaikan pembelajaran kitab-kitab seperti Muwatta Imam Malik, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan al- Tirmidzi, Sunan al-Nasa’i, Sunan Ibn Majah, Sahih Bukhari, dan Sahih Muslim. Selama tinggal di Jeddah, KH Muhammad Muhajirin Amsar ad-Dari meluangkan waktu untuk berziarah ke makam Siti Hawa, kemudian pada malam Zulhijjah, dengan niat umrah, dia berangkat menuju Mekah, yang terjadi sekitar bulan September 1947 M. Selain itu beliau mendalami metode tahqiq (peneguhan) dan tatbiq (penyesuaian) dalam memahami bagaimana metodologi istidlal (berdalil) dan istinbat (penetapan hukum) dari pendapat-pendapat para ulama mazhab; baik Mazhab Maliki, Hanafi, Syafi'i, maupun Hanbali, dengan memperhatikan prinsip prinsip ushul hadits dan ushul fiqh.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the significant role of Kyai Haji Muhammad Ilyas Ruhiat in Islamic educational dakwah through Pondok Pesantren Cipasung. Kyai Ilyas, a prominent scholar known for his moderate and inclusive approach, successfully modernized the pesantren education system by integrating religious knowledge and general sciences. His educational dakwah not only focused on religious teachings but also shaped the character of students to be prepared for global challenges. This study employs a descriptive biographical method, where data is gathered from relevant literature and analyzed to gain a deeper understanding of Kyai Ilyas's dakwah strategies. The findings show that his approach to pesantren education has become a model for Islamic educational development in Indonesia and significantly contributes to the formation of a well-mannered and knowledgeable society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran dakwah dalam mendorong perubahan sosial di kawasan Masjid Al Madinah Dompet Duafa. Fokus utama dari studi ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana dakwah yang dilakukan melalui program-program sosial dakwah yang dikelola oleh Masjid Al Madinah seperti Forum Halaqah Qur’an (FHQ), Karemah (Kajian Rutin Ekslusif Muslimah), Majelis Taklim dan Safari Dakwah, serta Kajian Tausiyah mengubah kondisi sosial masyarakat serta memperkuat nilai-nilai keislaman. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan paradigman konstruktivis. Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan adalah komunikasi dan sosiologi. Sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini yakni wawancara dengan Ketua DKM Masjid Al Madinah Dompet Duafa dan juga beberapa jamaah. Adapun sumber data sekunder dalam penelitian ini yakni dengan melakukan studi kepustakaan terkait informasi yang relevan dengan topik atau masalah yang sedang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dakwah di Masjid Al Madinah tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penyebaran nilai-nilai agama, tetapi juga sebagai alat untuk mendorong perubahan sosial baik perilaku, pengetahuan, serta praktik di kalangan jamaah dan masyarakat sekitar. Keberhasilan ini didukung oleh keterlibatan aktif jamaah, dukungan pengelola, dan kolaborasi dengan berbagai pihak, meskipun terdapat hambatan seperti kurangnya sumber daya dan fasilitas yang kurang memadai. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa dakwah memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung transformasi sosial yang positif dan berkelanjutan, dan memberikan panduan bagi pengelola masjid serta praktisi dakwah untuk merancang program yang lebih inklusif dan berdaya guna.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepemimpinan Rahmah el-Yunusiyah dalam memajukan pendidikan perempuan di Minangkabau serta alasan Rahmah el-Yunusiyah mendapatkan gelar Syaikhoh. Rahmah el-Yunusiyah merupakan tokoh penting yang mendirikan Diniyah Puteri Padang Panjang, sekolah khusus perempuan pertama di Minangkabau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan studi riset kepustakaan yaitu dengan cara menelusuri sumber-sumber data dari berbagai bacaan tanpa melibatkan penelitian lapangan. Data tersebut kemudian diolah dan dianalisis secara objektif dan sistematis sesuai prosedur yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Rahmah el-Yunusiyah memiliki visi untuk memajukan pendidikan perempuan. Rahmah el-Yunusiyah dikenal sebagai pendidik yang menerapkan metode pengajaran inovatif hingga pada akhirnya mendapatkan gelar syaikhoh dari Universitas Al-Azhar pada tahun 1957. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan Syaikhoh Rahmah el-Yunusiyah tidak hanya memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap pendidikan perempuan di Minangkabau, tetapi juga memberikan inspirasi bagi perkembangan pendidikan perempuan di Indonesia. Gelar syaikhoh diberikan kepada Rahmah el-Yunusiyah sebagai pengakuan atas kepemimpinannya yang luar biasa dalam pendidikan perempuan dan kontribusi besarnya dalam mengembangkan pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Gelar ini mencerminkan penghargaan terhadap dedikasinya dalam menciptakan sistem pendidikan yang komprehensif bagi perempuan, serta perannya sebagai teladan bagi generasi selanjutnya. Abstract

The expression of grief has shifted from traditional face-to-face rituals to digital spaces. Social media provides features such as emojis, stickers, and GIFs, enabling users to express mourning visually and symbolically. This phenomenon illustrates how cultural and religious practices are transformed through technological mediation. The study aims to analyze how multimodal dialogue represents grief on Facebook and how meaning is constructed in digital mourning practices. The research applies a social semiotic approach with a semiotic technology method. Data were collected from grief-related posts and comments on the Facebook account @endah.sucipto. The analysis focused on two models of interaction: system–user and user–user. Each textual and visual element was examined through multimodal content analysis and interpreted using semiotic theory. The findings show that expressions of grief appear in three dominant forms: condolences, Qur’anic verses, and prayers for the deceased. Users also rely on emojis, reaction icons, stickers, and images to strengthen emotional expression. These multimodal practices integrate religious traditions and digital symbols, creating hybrid forms of mourning in online communities. Visual features such as GIFs and stickers are substitutes for nonverbal cues and add affective value to brief textual comments. This study contributes to communication and cultural studies by showing how social media functions as both a technological medium and a cultural arena. The results highlight the role of digital semiotics in rearticulating cultural symbols of grief. Future research may expand this inquiry by comparing digital mourning practices across platforms and cultural contexts.

Abstract

This study delves into the intricate connections between the ulama (scholars) of Betawi and Banten, primarily focusing on the dynamics of their relationships as teachers and students or amongst peers who shared the same mentors, particularly during their educational pursuits with the Sheikhs in Makkah. These relationships played a pivotal role in shaping the religious and intellectual landscape of the regions. The research adopts a qualitative approach, emphasizing the depth and complexity of these interpersonal and intellectual connections. Data collection was conducted through a combination of in-depth interviews and thorough documentation studies. Interviews were targeted at experts, historians, and local community leaders with deep insights into the lives and contributions of these scholars. Documentation studies involved an extensive review of historical records, writings of the ulama, and other relevant literature that shed light on the educational and spiritual journeys of these scholars. The findings of this research reveal a rich tapestry of interactions and exchanges among the ulama of Betawi and Banten. It was observed that they shared a close-knit relationship, often forming bonds that transcended the typical teacher-student dynamic, fostering a community of learning and spiritual development. This study underscores the significant role played by these scholars in establishing and advancing Islamic boarding schools and other educational institutions. These establishments not only served as centers for religious and academic learning but also acted as platforms for intellectual encounters and discussions. These interactions and institutions were instrumental in the dissemination of knowledge and the nurturing of future generations of scholars, thereby contributing significantly to the religious and educational landscape in Indonesia. This research provides a nuanced understanding of the socio-religious fabric of Betawi and Banten, highlighting the profound impact of these scholars in shaping the Islamic discourse and education in these regions.

Abstract

The main issue in the Zakat, Infaq, Shadaqah, and Wakaf (ZISWAF) campaign in the digital era is how to effectively manage communication in a multicultural context. The objective of this research is to identify communication strategies that can inclusively reach multicultural communities. The core statement of this research is that effective intercultural communication is crucial for increasing participation in the ZISWAF campaign. The theory used is John Fiske's semiotic theory, which explains how messages are encoded and decoded by different audiences. The analysis shows that the use of cultural symbols and technology-based approaches can enhance the effectiveness of the ZISWAF campaign. The conclusion of this research is that culturally sensitive communication strategies, supported by digital technology, can increase community engagement in ZISWAF management and strengthen the impact of Islamic philanthropy.
