Abstract

The development of information technology requires businesses to shift from manual systems to more efficient digital management. However, Mentuangin Coffee still runs sales processes and reports manually, making them prone to errors, delays in data processing, and difficulties in monitoring stock. This condition indicates the need for an integrated sales system that can support operational activities more accurately and structurally. This study aims to design and develop a sales application based on a Point of Sales (POS) system using the PHP programming language as a solution to automate transaction processes, inventory management, and sales reporting. The research methods used include needs analysis, an object-oriented approach, application implementation, and testing using the Black Box method to ensure all functions run according to specifications. The results show that the developed application is able to process transactions, improve recording accuracy, and generate reports in real time

Abstract

This literature study critically examines the evolution and utilization of multimedia learning media in modern education, emphasizing the increasing demands for innovative teaching methods that integrate digital technology. As educational paradigms shift towards learner-centered approaches, teachers are required to leverage digital-based learning media to enhance students’ understanding and improve learning outcomes. This study synthesizes findings from twenty recent peer-reviewed articles, providing a comprehensive overview of how digital learning media facilitate effective knowledge delivery and engagement. Unlike traditional tools, digital media offer dynamic, interactive, and accessible learning experiences that align with current technological advancements and educational needs. The analysis reveals key trends, benefits, and challenges in adopting multimedia learning media, highlighting significant opportunities for further development and implementation in diverse learning contexts. This study contributes to the field by consolidating up-to-date evidence on the impact of digital learning media, thereby informing educators, researchers, and policymakers on best practices and future directions in technology-enhanced learning.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Kahoot! educational game on student learning outcomes in the Engine and Heavy Equipment Unit course for Phase F students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. A quasi-experimental design with equivalent control and experimental groups (n=18 each) was employed. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, confirming suitability for parametric testing. Hypothesis testing using an independent t-test revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s mean post-test score (80.3) compared to the control group (74.2), with t (34) = 3.618, p < 0.05. The pre-test scores showed no significant difference between groups, ensuring comparability. These findings demonstrate that Kahoot! as an interactive gamified learning tool effectively enhances student engagement and academic performance in vocational engineering education. This study contributes novel empirical evidence supporting the integration of gamification in technical skill development, addressing a research gap in vocational ICT-based pedagogy.

Abstract

The advancement of web-based technology has opened new opportunities for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in vocational education. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Google Sites as a digital learning media combined with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Network System Administration. Conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles, this study involved 31 students from class XI TKJ at SMKN 5 Padang. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and learning achievement tests. The findings show a consistent increase in students’ learning engagement and performance. The average learning outcomes rose from 67.42 (pre-cycle) to 78.86 (cycle II), with student mastery increasing from 68% to 90%. The integration of Google Sites facilitated independent and flexible access to learning materials, while the PjBL model encouraged collaborative problem-solving and practical skill development. These results suggest that the combination of interactive digital media and project-based instruction significantly enhances the effectiveness of vocational learning environments.

Abstract

This study presents the development and implementation of VocaTeach, a web-based application designed to enhance project-based learning in the context of automotive vocational education. Motivated by the growing need to align vocational training with Industry 4.0 competencies, VocaTeach integrates digital project management, collaboration tools, and a comprehensive evaluation system to support both teachers and students in managing complex, real-world automotive tasks. The system was developed using an Agile methodology and deployed at SMK Swasta Pembda Nias, a vocational school in a geographically remote region. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining surveys, interviews, and usage analytics to assess the platform’s effectiveness. Results showed a significant increase in student engagement (85%), peer collaboration (150% rise in interactions), and improved academic outcomes, including an 18% gain in theoretical test scores. Teacher workload decreased by up to 30%, reflecting improved efficiency in project supervision and assessment. Statistical analysis confirmed the significance of these improvements (p < 0.05) with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.8). Qualitative data reinforced these findings, with students reporting enhanced motivation and perceived relevance of learning tasks, while teachers highlighted improved structure and fairness in assessment. The study concludes that VocaTeach is a viable and scalable digital innovation for vocational education, especially in underserved regions. Future research is recommended to explore integration with Industry 5.0 technologies and to evaluate long-term impacts on career readiness and skill mastery.

Abstract

The development of digital solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is essential in supporting operational efficiency and customer engagement. This study presents the design and implementation of the Givan Petshop Information System, a web-based platform developed using a sequential linear methodology. The system aims to centralize and streamline business processes including inventory management, promotional campaigns, grooming service scheduling, and customer interactions. The development process encompassed thorough needs analysis, structured database modeling, and responsive user interface design for both admin and client users. Key features include real-time dashboards, dynamic product and service management, and integrated contact information access. The system was built using Visual Studio Code, MySQL, and XAMPP on a Windows-based environment and tested through interface simulations and functional evaluations. Results indicate that the system effectively supports business administration and improves the accessibility of information for users. While the system functions as intended in the development environment, limitations include the absence of real-user feedback and scalability testing. Future research is recommended to conduct usability testing in real-world settings, integrate mobile and cloud functionalities, and explore smart automation features to further enhance performance.

Abstract

Career decision-making during high school is a critical developmental stage in which students begin to define their future professional trajectories. However, many students—particularly by Grade XII—still struggle with identifying a clear career direction. This study investigates the contribution of two key psychological and social factors: self-efficacy and family support, in shaping students' career perceptions. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative analysis of 66 students in the Computer and Network Engineering department at SMKN 1 Bukit Tinggi with qualitative data from in-depth interviews. The quantitative findings revealed that self-efficacy and family support significantly influence career perception, contributing a combined variance of 59.2%, with self-efficacy contributing 52.27% and family support 19.44%. Qualitative results corroborated these findings, showing that students with high self-confidence and strong parental involvement demonstrated greater clarity in their career planning. These results highlight the importance of fostering both internal motivation and supportive external environments in preparing students for career decision-making. The study provides empirical evidence for the integration of psychological empowerment and family-based interventions within vocational education frameworks.

Abstract

The advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has significantly reshaped education, prompting the integration of technology-based learning media to improve instructional quality. Tools such as visual graphics, interactive texts, and educational videos enhance student comprehension and engagement. Google Sites, a free web-based platform, offers flexibility for delivering content across varied learning environments without requiring additional software. This study developed interactive learning media using Google Sites to support instruction in wired and wireless network technologies within vocational education. Employing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the research addressed the lack of interactive media and students' difficulties in grasping technical concepts. The resulting platform integrates texts, diagrams, video tutorials, and quizzes in a modular format suitable for both classroom and independent learning. Evaluation findings showed that 93% of students found the media easy to use, and 90% reported improved understanding. The study demonstrates a scalable approach to ICT-based learning and contributes to enhancing competency-based instruction in vocational contexts with limited infrastructure.

Abstract

In the era of rapid technological advancement and dynamic labor market demands, equipping vocational students with the right competencies for employability is more crucial than ever. This study explores how academic achievement, information technology proficiency, and organizational experience shape the work readiness of students in vocational education settings. Using a robust Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach via SmartPLS, data were collected from students at SMK Negeri 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. The results show that all three variables significantly and positively affect students' readiness for the workforce. More notably, organizational experience emerges as a key mediating factor, amplifying the influence of both academic performance and IT proficiency. This finding highlights a critical yet often overlooked aspect of employability preparation in vocational education. By integrating academic rigor, digital literacy, and active organizational participation, schools can foster a more holistic readiness among students for real-world challenges. This study contributes a fresh empirical model and offers strategic insights for policymakers and educators to design future-ready vocational curricula.

Abstract

In the era of technological advancement, education must continually innovate by utilizing effective learning media, such as augmented reality (AR). AR creates an interactive and engaging learning environment by combining real-world visualization with virtual objects, making it a focus in education to enhance conceptual understanding. This study aims to analyze the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of AR-based learning media in improving students' conceptual understanding of computer hardware materials in Informatics subjects. The research was conducted in classes X TKJ 1 and X TKJ 2 at SMK Negeri 5 Padang, using multiple-choice objective test instruments and questionnaires. The results indicate that the use of AR-based learning media has a significant impact on improving students' conceptual understanding. This is evidenced by the hypothesis test results showing a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.00 (<0.05) and an N-gain score of 0.7293 (high category), with an effectiveness percentage of 72.92%. AR-based learning media was deemed highly feasible as supplementary learning media based on expert validation (95%), as well as practicality questionnaires from teachers (95%) and students (87%). The advantages of AR media include realistic visualization, the ability for repeated observation, a more interactive learning experience, and efficiency in the use of teaching aids. Thus, the implementation of AR in learning has proven effective in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and providing a more engaging and meaningful learning experience.
