Abstract

This study aims to evaluate community satisfaction with the im-plementation of disciplinary hours for minors in selected baran-gays of Dasmariñas City, Cavite. It focuses on addressing issues involving minors in conflict with the law. The participants include police personnel, barangay officials, and parents from Barangays Sta. Fe, San Nicolas I, and San Francisco 2. A quantitative-descriptive design was employed, using surveys to gather data on the participants' demographic profiles and factors contributing to minors' involvement in criminal activities. Findings revealed that while curfew measures are seen as effective and well-implemented, their associated costs are perceived as insignificant. To address habitual offending, the researchers recommend an awareness or intervention program involving the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). This initiative would provide counseling and promote social responsibility among mi-nors, fostering active citizenship and unity to eliminate minor crimes in the area.

Abstract

This is a descriptive-correlational study (Aming-Hayudini et al., 2024)that focuses on the extent of organizational information vis-ibility and ethical climate among employees of line agencies in Su-lu during Fiscal Year 2022. The results indicate that the over-whelming majority of the 200 respondent-employees were female, aged below 30 years old, with 5 or fewer years of service in the organization. Most of them were permanent employees, but nearly half are contractuals; most have completed a Bachelor's degree. In terms of organizational information visibility, the line agencies in Sulu manage information availability, approval, and accessibility at a high level. Similarly, the agencies exhibit a strong ethical climate, characterized by high ratings in egoism, benevolence, and princi-pled ethical dimensions. No significant differences in either organ-izational information visibility or ethical climate were found when data were analyzed by gender, age, length of service, appointment status, or educational attainment. Furthermore, a strong positive correlation is established between the sub-categories of organiza-tional information visibility: availability, approval, and accessibil-ity, and ethical climate: egoism, benevolence, and principled. These findings support the theoretical models by Stohl et al. (2016) on organizational information visibility and Martin & Cullen (2006) on ethical climate, which state that the proper management of or-ganizational information is very much associated with a positive ethical work climate in the line agencies of Sulu.

Abstract

The study sought to evaluate the level of job satisfaction among PNP personnel at the Gen. Trias Police Station, as assessed by the PNCOs and PCOs concerning Organizational Factors, Environmen-tal Factors, and Personal Factors. This study employed a quantita-tive-descriptive methodology. This research utilized a survey methodology for data collection. The research strategy employed stratified sampling to catego-rize a population into strata based on a known feature for each sampling unit, followed by the independent selection of samples from each stratum. The majority of respondents comprised forty-four (44) Police Non-Commissioned Officers and four (4) Police Commissioned Officers, indicating a predominance of male partic-ipation in this study. The study's ultimate outcome is a proposed action plan to im-prove job satisfaction among PNP personnel in Gen. Trias, Compo-nent City Police Station, as detailed in Sub-problem No. 4. The re-sults underscored the importance of organizational variables in-side the PNP organization. PNP personnel are influenced by their job environment and atmosphere. The data imply that sustaining open communication promotes greater outcomes.

Abstract

This research study aimed to analyze the emerging trends of option-al retirement among PNP personnel and present the trends in the NHQwhich was the highest number of applicants for early retire-ment. It focused on ascertaining the various contributory factors that lead to the vast increase in PNP personnel acquiring early re-tirement. This study also determined the major or common causes why PNP personnel opted to avail of the optional retirement rather than rendering the full length of service. It led to the specification of causal factors including personal reasons, workplace conditions, broader organizational issues, and others. This reflected the com-plex relationship of personal and organizational dynamics that in-fluence retirement decisions within the PNP organization. This study employed a descriptive method of investigation, utilizing stratified random sampling to select the thirty-six (36) respondents. The in-formation gathered from the group of participants from the records at the PRBS conducted at the National Headquarters (NHQ) of the Philippine National Police situated in Camp Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City. From 2019 to 2024 applicants submitted requests for optional retirement benefits. The findings led the PNP organization to pro-pose recommendedpolicy enhancementby the respondents which may be forwarded to the Administrative and Resource Management Division to retain the remaining personnel and maintain morale, such as providing incentives or professional growth opportunities. The management may also strategize on the effective promotion of the organization to encourage more qualified candidates to apply and sustain the ideal workforce balance within the police organiza-tion.

Abstract

The study aimed to address the influence of cryptocurrency on contemporary kidnapping for ransom in the cities of Pasay and Paraňaque as assessed by anti-kidnapping group personnel towards the development of a strategic proposal to combat kid-napping in the digital landscape. This research employed a quantitative-descriptive methodol-ogy, utilizing stratified random sampling as the research design to carefully select respondents from the PNP office Anti-Kidnapping Group. A total of twenty (20) survey questionnaires will be distributed to gather data on the evaluation of PNP per-sonnel regarding the role of cryptocurrencies in contemporary kidnapping for ransom, particularly in relation to investigation, negotiation, and operations. The study's findings indicate that: The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) should improve educational programs and strategies to address kidnapping for ransom. Mandatory training on proposed initia-tives will be necessary for the PNP AKG. Additionally, the PNP AKG will oversee security in Pasay and Paranaque, and the BSP is actively monitoring developments in virtual currency, particular-ly regarding their potential use in money laundering and other illicit activities, and will take appropriate action as needed. The findings emphasized that strong regulation, including the Anti-Fraudulent Activities in Financial Accounts Act (AFASA) and the suggested amendments to the Bank Secrecy Act, are es-sential and long overdue. The BSP and other regulatory authori-ties in the Philippines must actively oversee cryptocurrencies. Furthermore, the PNP AKG and ACG necessitate revised tech-niques to proficiently obstruct blockchain technology from ena-bling cross-border bitcoin transactions.

Abstract

As a subject rich in specialized vocabulary, science requires learners to develop strong reading and comprehension skills for a deeper con-ceptual understanding. Integrating literacy strategies, such as vocabu-lary instruction, can significantly benefit students (Venida, 2021). This study aimed to enhance the science vocabulary skills of Grade 10 learn-ers using the Contextualized Science Vocabulary Worksheet (COS-CIVOW). A quasi-experimental design compared an experimental group that received COSCIVOW-based instruction with a control group taught using traditional methods. Data analysis involved mean, percentage scores, and ANOVA.Results showed that learners' vocabulary skills were rated as Satis-factory before the intervention and improved to Very Satisfactory af-terward. A significant difference was observed between pre-and post-intervention vocabulary skills, indicating the effectiveness of COS-CIVOW. The findings suggest that COSCIVOW effectively encourages learners to engage with and understand science vocabulary, leading to improved language skills. Therefore, the researchers recommend in-corporating COSCIVOW in science instruction to enhance learners' vo-cabulary proficiency. They also advocate for its adoption in the Division of La Union to support broader educational improvement.

Abstract

The physical education curriculum varies across cultures worldwide, with this scoping review focusing specifically on Southeast Asia. The study aims to analyze published research that highlights how South-east Asian nations perceive the physical education curriculum, as well as the challenges they face in this field. The findings are evaluat-ed to identify practices and strategies that neighboring countries might adopt to address local challenges. Additionally, the review serves as a basis for assessing the current state of relations among the countries in the region. The scoping review follows the frame-work proposed by Arksey and O’Malley, encompassing stages from formulating research questions to summarizing findings obtained through data charting. The results indicate that Southeast Asian countries are committed to improving their physical education cur-ricula, consistently investing in planning and implementation. How-ever, the challenges vary across nations, ranging from limited tech-nological advancements to issues in curriculum design and execu-tion. Analyzing existing literature reveals strategies that could help countries overcome local obstacles. Sharing these insights has the potential to strengthen regional collaboration and contribute to the overall development of the physical education curriculum in South-east Asia.

Abstract

Indigenous Peoples (IPs) play a vital role in preserving cultural her-itage, particularly in the Philippines, where Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) strive to maintain their identities and practices. This study investigates the leadership practices of the Domaget In-digenous Cultural Community in Nueva Ecija through a Descriptive-Quantitative approach, utilizing interviews and survey question-naires. Findings reveal that leadership within the Domaget and Kalanguya IPs is predominantly male, with leaders aged 61–70 years and possessing limited formal education. Leadership roles, including Chieftains, Elders, and Tribal Leaders, are central to governance and cultural preservation, with elders playing pivotal roles in knowledge transfer. The hierarchical structure is led by the "Mangondem," sup-ported by spiritual and governance roles like "Gangot" and "Subka-lan." While the community values peaceful governance and cultural continuity, there is resistance to militaristic defense structures. The study highlights the need for sustainable livelihood opportunities and enhanced knowledge-sharing to foster resilience and social co-hesion.

Abstract

This study examines the role of teachers in incorporating moral values within classroom management strategies in the Division of Zambales, specifically in Zone I. The research focuses on the de-mographic profile of teachers, their practices in integrating moral values into classroom discipline, and the challenges they face. A total of 11 teachers participated, providing insights into their sex, age, length of service, positions, and highest educational attain-ment. The study explored how teachers implement moral values through strategies such as establishing classroom rules, modeling behavior, building student relationships, and integrating moral lessons into the curriculum. Additionally, the study identifies the challenges teachers face, including diverse student backgrounds, limited time for moral education, and lack of support or resources. The findings reveal that while teachers are committed to integrat-ing moral values, challenges such as curriculum constraints and insufficient resources hinder the full implementation of moral ed-ucation in the classroom. The study concludes with recommenda-tions for professional development, curriculum enhancement, and increased resource allocation to support teachers in promoting moral values and discipline in schools.
