Abstract

This study investigated the link between family dynamics and juve-nile delinquency among Filipino senior high school students. Intact families were associated with greater emotional stability and less delinquency than single-parent or adoptive families; however, strong parental support and communication mitigated negative out-comes in non-traditional families. Family conflict significantly pre-dicted negative outcomes (stress, instability, academic struggles, delinquency). High parental involvement, especially in academics, was associated with positive outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of supportive family environments and underscore the need for family-focused interventions and policies to prevent juve-nile delinquency.

Abstract

The study aimed to improve the job satisfaction among PNP person-nel by addressing the issues in the PNP's internal disciplinary mech-anisms. The Dasmarinas Component City Police Station PCOs and PNCOs took part in the study, descriptive comparison research de-sign was used to examine the internal cleansing and disciplinary mechanism programs applied. The data was collected using a sur-vey questionnaire that was consistent with PNP Memorandum Cir-culars 2019-027 and 20-2020. Kusumawardani (2024) asserted that work discipline increases job satisfaction. If job satisfaction de-creases, so does work discipline. This was achievable because em-ployees were satisfied with their jobs, enjoy fair working hours, and follow their superiors' and subordinates' rules. The majority of the respondents were PNCO, consisting of male participants whom were all college graduates. The research showed that the internal disciplinary procedures of the Dasmarinas Component City Police Station, particularly those related to punitive measures, had resulted in an increase in job satisfaction. It highlighted the importance of reaffirming the fundamental principles of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maka-Diyos, Makabansa, Makatao, and Makakalikasan while also promoting the ethical standards of a public official. The PIAS concluded that errors resulted from the examined variables.

Abstract

This study assessed the impact of Random Drug Testing (RDT) on the internal cleansing efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Police Regional Office (PRO) 12. Using a quantitative research design, structured surveys were conducted with 16 PNP personnel across various ranks, designations, and years of service. The study analyzed RDT results from 2020 to November 2024, showing a low overall positivity rate of 0.03%. Most units demonstrated strong compliance, although Sarangani PFU reported two positive cases, and General Santos City Forensic Unit did not conduct any RDTs, highlighting a need for uniform implementation. Respondents strongly agreed on RDT’s role in identifying substance abuse, ensuring fairness, and promoting a drug-free culture. However, privacy concerns were raised by some participants, indicating varying perceptions about the potential invasion of privacy. Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences in perceptions based on rank, designation, or length of service, suggesting a consistent view of RDT's effectiveness across groups. An expert forensic chemist affirmed the reliability of the drug testing protocols. This study provided valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of RDT in enhancing internal discipline within the PNP and offered recommendations for policy improvement and uniform implementation across all units.

Abstract

This study explored the challenges faced by Bachelor of Sec-ondary Education (BSEd) Major in English students at President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) Santa Cruz Campus during the Academic year 2023-2024 in learning English Lan-guage through literature exposure, frequent reading of literature materials, and vocabulary acquisition. The research was guided by Krashen's Implicit Vocabulary Learning Theory and Ru-melhart's Schema Theory. A quantitative research design utiliz-ing a survey questionnaire via Google Forms was conducted with 60 BSEd English students at PRMSU Santa Cruz to assess de-mographics, literature exposure frequency, and challenges in vocabulary acquisition and literature exposure. The results indicated that although literature exposure was perceived as beneficial for vocabulary development, students encountered challenges such as difficulties in teaching methods, time constraints, understanding complex texts, limited exposure to the target language, and technological unfamiliarity. Addition-ally, female students faced challenges in all macro language skills areas. Notably, the students' year level did not significantly influ-ence the challenges they encountered. However, a difference was observed between sex in challenges related to language exposure and reading comprehension. Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between challenges in vocabulary acquisition, macro language skills, vocabulary instruction, and vocabulary develop-ment.In conclusion, the study highlights the significant impact of challenges in learning English through literature exposure, fre-quent reading, and vocabulary acquisition on BSEd-English students. The researchers recommend adopting a comprehen-sive approach to address these challenges effectively.

Abstract

Service quality, defined as customers’ perceptions of service com-pared to their expectations, is critical in the hospitality industry (Vidyanata, 2022). Consistently meeting the diverse expectations of a broad customer base remains a significant challenge for ser-vice providers (Pomegbe et al., 2019). This review examines 25 empirical studies, summarizing their key findings and approaches to consolidate insights into service quality. It highlights fundamen-tal concepts, theories, and practical applications while identifying research gaps and inconsistencies. Key themes include the impact of service quality on customer satisfaction, loyalty, reputation, employee satisfaction, organizational success, and competitive advantage. Influencing factors identified include customer satis-faction, organizational processes, and technology. The study also offers strategies for improving service quality, providing actiona-ble insights for the hospitality industry.

Abstract

This descriptive-correlational study investigates the extent of conflict management and decision-making skills among public higher education institution administrators in Sulu for the Aca-demic Year 2022-2023. The respondents in this study are 200 fac-ulty members, with several statistical methods applied, including frequency counts, percentages, weighted means, standard devia-tions, t-tests for independent samples, One-way ANOVA, and Pear-son's r.Most respondents were between 20 and 35 years old, female, married, and holding a master's degree. Many faculty members reported having served from 1 to 15 years in their respective insti-tutions. In fact, the respondents agreed that the administrators were pretty successful in getting faculty involved in key decisions concerning the institutions. They also graded the administrators as vigilant and decisive when dealing with sensitive and critical matters.Interestingly, differences in ratings regarding the faculty's evaluation of administrators' skills for conflict management and decision-making by age, gender, civil status, educational attain-ment, and years of service do not indicate statistical significance. But those who have high grades of administrators for the man-agement of conflict also graded highly the ability to make deci-sions. This study supports Rahim's (2002) proposition that suc-cessful conflict management is made of multiple strategies. Thus, those administrators who make effective decisions on handling conflicts would tend to be good decision-makers.Finally, it has underlined that to achieve better and sound deci-sion making as well as better management of the institutions in conflict management is needed to become good administrators. Therefore, good administrative leadership does not only work well to facilitate more effectiveness of its own work but also enables more harmony and effectiveness within a higher education public institution. More emphasis needs to be made upon their skill im-provement.

Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of the thematic approach towards inclusive education among elementary teachers in Iba District, Philippines. A descriptive correlational design was employed, utilizing a survey questionnaire administered to 75 elementary teachers from three selected schools. The findings revealed that the teacher-respondents demonstrated a high level of knowledge and consistently practiced the thematic approach in their teaching strategies, learning activities, instructional materials, and assessment. Furthermore, there is a strong association (r=0.886, p=<0.01) between teachers' knowledge of the thematic approach and their reported use of it in their teaching practices in ensuring inclusive science education. Thus, professional development that enhances teachers' understanding of the thematic approach is recommended, as this is directly associated with improved classroom implementation and more effective inclusive education practices. Additionally, further research could explore the specific impacts of thematic teaching methods on student learning outcomes and inclusivity in diverse classroom settings.

Abstract

The aimed of this study was to revisit the community and service-oriented policing (CSOP) system for sustainable peace and order. This study used survey methods in conjunction with descriptive study design. Police Stations 6 and 13 in the barangays of Batasan Hills, Commonwealth, and Payatas were used for the locale of the study. The study only looked at the age, gender, marital status, high-est level of schooling, classification, place of assignment for PNP members, and address of barangay officials and residents of the people who answered the survey. In the study of Martinez (2019) provided a survey questionnaire that was used as the research in-strument in this study. They used the mean and Pearson-r Correla-tion to examine the data. Three groups of respondents were asked to rate how well the Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) System strategies were being put into action. The strategies were evaluated in terms of how well they supported local chief ex-ecutives (LCEs), how well they provided police services, and how well they worked with the community. Out of the 279 people who willingly answered the survey, 267 were found. Some went through Google Forms, while others were given hard copies. The Philippine National Police started to work together with mayors, local chief executives, and the people who live in the area to improve the way they provide police services thus, local chief executives are in full support to the implementation of the community and service-oriented policing system as they are regularly coordinating with the provincial/regional office of the National Police Commission, they are ready to give funds as their support to the implementation of the community and service-oriented policing for the betterment of their constituents in the municipality/city as these were based on the problems that people in the community had pointed out.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the buying behavior of male and female bank personnel and their customer satisfaction. The buying behavior represents three indicators: perceived benefits, domain of specific innovativeness, and shopping orientation. This study utilizes a descriptive correlational approach, which focuses on describing the significant relationship between the two variables: buying behavior and customer satisfaction. The data of the study is collected using a survey questionnaire distributed to 106 participants in each selected bank. The study’s findings reveal that male and female bank personnel have high impulsivity in terms of perceived benefits, domain of specific innovativeness, and shopping orientation, but male bank personnel have low impulsivity in terms of the domain of specific innovativeness. It also indicates that male and female bank personnel are satisfied with purchasing online; positive product reviews attract them, and the thing that male and female bank personnel are unsatisfied with is the use of credit cards to purchase online. Findings indicate a significant relationship between buying behavior and customer satisfaction of male and female but with a low correlation for male and a moderate correlation for female and indicates no significant difference between the buying behavior of male and female bank personnel. Therefore, male and female bank personnel show an interest in and are highly impulsive in purchasing online.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The SIM Card Registration Act has been actively advocated by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), aiming to raise awareness and encourage individuals to register their SIM cards. In addition, the DICT has been working closely with tele-communications companies to enhance the efficiency and simplicity of the registration procedure. Undoubtedly, the implementation of the SIM Card Registration Act plays a pivotal role in establishing a safer and more secure environment in the Philippines. The research aims to investigate and analyze the impact of SIM registration legislation as a regulatory mechanism in enhancing mobile security against cyber threats. More specifically, the study will seek Strengths and weak-nesses of SIM registration legislation in addressing challenges in mo-bile security. The study will be conducted in the District 2 Manila, Philippines with an estimated population of 212,938 (manila.gov.ph). The re-spondents will be interview and answering a survey questionnaire in their houses or any comfortable place that the respondent will choose or the respondents may answer the survey questionnaire via Google form. The study employed a purposive sampling scheme in which re-spondents were purposefully chosen by the researcher that targets a group of people that have been affected by mobile phone-related crimes, law enforcement officials, legal experts, policymakers, or oth-er stakeholders directly involved in the enforcement of RA 11934.The main instrument will be use of the researchers in gathering the data for this study was self- made questionnaire which is con-structed after analyzing literatures and studies related to the present study. The results revealed the implementation of the SIM Registration Act has had significant implications for various cyber threats, includ-ing swindling / estafa, identity theft, and terrorism. By mandating the registration of SIM cards, authorities aim to enhance accountability and traceability in communication networks. The flaws within SIM registration systems contribute to the emergence of a black market for registered SIM cards. This illicit market enables their utilization in criminal activities, thereby undermining the intended security bene-fits that the registration process aims to provide.
