Abstract

Symptoms of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, often referred to as "morningickness", are normal physiological reactions that occur in the first trimester of pregnancy. An increase in the hormones HCG and estrogen in the body triggers nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. This treatment is divided into two, namely the use of drugs in pharmacological therapy and the use of alternative ingredients such as lemon aromatherapy in non-pharmacological therapy. This study aims to identify the impact of lemon aromatherapy in reducing symptoms of nausea and vomiting in 1st trimester pregnant women in the Sukaraja Tiga Health Center, East Lampung. The quantitative research method used is quasi-experimental with a one group pre and post test approach. The number of pregnant women in the first trimester who will be studied in the period April to May 2024 is 27 people, whose gestational age ranges from 5 to 12 weeks, and experience symptoms of nausea and vomiting. The sampling method includes all samples selected deliberately using the purposive sampling method and tested using the paired sample T test. Through statistical analysis, the results of the T test were obtained with a p-value of 0.000, or p-value <0.05, indicating that lemon aromatherapy therapy had an effect on reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester in the Sukaraja Tiga Health Center, East Lampung Working Area. The hope is that pregnant women can feel better by using lemon aromatherapy to reduce nausea and vomiting.

Abstract

Introduction: The population in Indonesia has reached 278.69 million people in July 2023. This figure is up 1.05% from 2022, namely 275.77 million people. To control population growth, the government has created programs, one of which is the long-term contraceptive method family planning program or Long Term Contraceptive Methods in the form of IUDs, Implants, MOW and MOP through the assistance of husbands using audiovisual media. Objectives: Analyzing the Influence of Husband's Assistance Using Audio Visual Methods on Family Planning Participation in Long-Term Contraceptive Methods in Women of Childbearing Age. Methods: This research is quantitative using a quasi experimental study method with control group design. The sample used 15 respondents in the intervention group using audio-visual and 15 respondents in the control group using leaflets. Data analysis used the Paired Sample T-test statistical test, the independent T-test, namely the paired T-test, using the Wilcoxon Test. Results: The participation of women of childbearing age in family planning using long-term contraceptive methods in the intervention group and control group before being given treatment, no one used MKJP family planning (0%) and after being given treatment, the intervention group used MKJP family planning, numbering 6 people (40%) and the control group 2 people (13.3%). Based on the Significant Difference Test using the Mann-Whitney test, the category of husband's knowledge and support for MKJP family planning participation above can be seen as a p-value of 0.000, which means there is a significant difference between before giving the intervention and after giving the intervention. With the results of this test, the data Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that the use of the audio-visual method influences the level of knowledge which influences the husband's support for family planning for long-term contraceptive methods. Conclusions: The use of audio-visual methods affects the level of knowledge which influences husband's support which causes an increase in family planning participation in long-term contraceptive methods.

Abstract

Introduction: Postoperative nausea and vomiting, known as Postoperative Nausea Vomiting (PONV), is one of the problems often experienced by post-operative patients. Most anesthetic drugs have a vasodilation effect which causes hypotension and hypoperfusion, thereby stimulating the CTZ to produce nausea and vomiting reactions. Hypotension will be more dangerous if the body's fluid needs are not met at the time of surgery. Hypotension is one of the triggers that can cause nausea and vomiting. Giving fluids to preoperative patients is generally done to prevent intraoperative hypotension. Methods: The design of this research is analytical observational with a cross sectional approach, using a proportional sampling technique with a sample of 80 respondents. This research instrument uses the RINVR observation sheet and fluid calculations based on the fresh holiday formula. Data analysis using the Fisher Test with SPSS IBM Version 23. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents, namely 72 (90%) channeled preoperative fluid requirements less than required, 44 respondents (55%) experienced mild nausea and vomiting, 61.1% Respondents experienced mild nausea and vomiting while meeting inadequate preoperative fluid requirements. The results of the Fisher Test statistical test obtained a value of p = 0.001, which can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between preoperative fluid requirements and the incidence of nausea and vomiting in patients after general anesthesia at RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar, East Java Province. Conclusions: In preoperative patients, a lot of fluid is lost. Fluid lost during fasting is replaced by calculating fluid requirements per day (per hour), calculating the fasting deficit (length of fasting) or dehydration (degree of dehydration). Providing sufficient fluids can reduce the risk of postoperative nausea and vomiting under general anesthesia.

Abstract

Background: The postpartum period is a period of adaptation that is quite difficult for a mother. Various complaints can arise during the postpartum period, both physical and psychological complaints. Postpartum hormonal changes and adaptation to a new role as a mother often cause mothers to experience changes in mood, and become easily sad and sensitive. These symptoms are usually called postpartum blues. The still high rate of postpartum blues in the world, namely 70-80%, and the rate of postpartum blues in Indonesia, namely 60-70%, shows that the mental health problems of postpartum mothers require special attention. The results of a preliminary study at the Mrican Community Health Center, Kediri City, showed that 70% of 52 postpartum mothers (36 respondents) experienced anxiety during the postpartum period. In Indonesia, postpartum blues is still considered normal and does not require special treatment, even though this problem has a high impact on the welfare of postpartum mothers and their babies. Objectives: The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the Nareswari method (Breathing, Relaxation, and Coloring) in reducing the anxiety level of postpartum mothers as an effort to prevent cases of postpartum blues. The Nareswari method is a combination of hypnobreastfeeding techniques and coloring therapy (coloring). Methods: This type of research is observational analytical experimental research with a case-control approach with two group pretest and post-test. The independent variables are hypnobreastfeeding and coloring hypnosis. The dependent variable is the level of anxiety of postpartum mothers and the number of samples in this study was 50 respondents. Results: The results of statistical tests show a significant difference between the level of anxiety in the treatment group and the control group (p-value = 0.0000 < α value 0.05).Conclusions: The Nareswari method is effective in reducing anxiety levels in postpartum mothers. There was a significant reduction in anxiety levels after postpartum mothers routinely used this method for one month.

Abstract

One of the health problems that can cause anxiety is hypertension and the psychological aspects that accompany it. Anxiety is a feeling of worry as if something bad is going to happen and a feeling of discomfort as if there is a threat accompanied by physical symptoms such as heart palpitations, cold sweats, and shaking hands. One alternative relaxation for hypertensive patients is five-finger hypnosis, which aims to program oneself, relieve anxiety, and reduce the increase in heart rate, respiration, and blood pressure. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of complementary therapy with the five-finger hypnosis method on the reduction of anxiety in elderly hypertensive patients (Elderly) at the Sliyeg Health Center, Indramayu Regency. Research method: This research is a type of pre-experiment with a one-group Pre-test Post test design. The population of this study is all elderly hypertension patients who use health services at the Sliyeg Health Center, Indramayu Regency, as many as 263 people, and the sample used is accidental sampling, as many as 32 respondents. The data collection instrument in this study is the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire, which is standard and according to the standard operating procedure of 5-finger hypnosis. The data analysis techniques used are univariate and bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon sign rank test because the data of nominal free variables and ordinal-bound variable data are ordinal. Results: Before being given 5-finger hypnosis therapy, the majority of respondents were at a severe anxiety level of 28 respondents (87.5%); after being given 5-finger hypnosis therapy, the majority of respondents were at a mild anxiety level of 20 respondents (62.5%), and the results of the paired sample t-test statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: There was a very significant or meaningful change in anxiety level before and after being given five-finger hypnosis (p-value < α 0.05). Suggestion: elderly hypertension patients should be given complementary therapy with the 5-finger hypnosis method to complement conventional treatment.

Abstract

Birth control has become a global issue of great importance in maintaining a balance between population growth and available resources. One contraceptive method that is often used is the IUD. The prevalence of IUD/AKDR family planning acceptors in Indonesia is 3.8 % and in Banten 6.09%. The IUD has been a major focus of long-term contraceptive research because of its high effectiveness, reversibility, and potential additional health benefits. The aim of the research was to determine factors related to WUS's decision to use an IUD. This type of quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The population in the study, namely women of childbearing age in the Maja Health Center Working Area, numbered 9,394 and a sample of 369 people using the cluster random sampling technique . Data analysis used univariate, bivariate ( chi square), and multivariate ( multiple logistic regression). The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between age (p=0.405), parity (p=0.837), and occupation (p= 0.875) with WUS's decision to use an IUD. Meanwhile, education (p=0.004), knowledge (p=0.000), attitude (p=0.038), husband's support (p=0.035), and support from health workers (p=0.029) affected WUS' decision to use an IUD. The factor most related to WUS's decision to use an IUD is knowledge with OR= 9.591. The conclusion from this research is that the dominant factor related to the decision to use an IUD is knowledge. WUS should actively seek information through trusted sources such as consulting with medical personnel at community health centers or reading accurate health literature.

Abstract

Introduction: One of the factors that influences fine motor development is stimulation. Children who receive more stimulation will develop faster than those who rarely do (4). Some activities that can develop fine motor skills include puzzle games. One type of puzzle that is currently popular in children's environments because it is interesting and easy to get is diamond painting. Diamond painting is a drawing game on a canvas by attaching diamond-shaped beads to a pattern that is already available. This game can train children's fine motor skills because the child's fingers will move to attach the beads to the painting media, in addition it can improve eye, hand coordination, concentration, and increase imagination and creativity. Not only play therapy or the use of other learning media, it turns out that music therapy can also improve children's motor development. Innovation and modification of play therapy need to be done in developing learning media so that they can help stimulate the growth and development of preschool children. objective: to analyze the effect of a combination of diamond painting play therapy and music therapy on fine motor development in preschool children. Method: This study uses a mixed method design, namely combining quantitative and qualitative methods in a study with an Explanatory Design approach. Result: fine motor skills of children in the intervention group with a p value of 0.000 or <0.05, meaning that there is an effect after being given a combination of diamond painting play therapy and music therapy.
