The results illustrate the possibility that better English proficiency can lead to better quality of interaction, more positive feedback, and increased earnings. The study centers around flexible and inexpensive English training that is supplemented with the needs of the entrepreneurs like online, role gaming and etc. These kinds of activities are crucial in enabling small scale businesses to compete in the international tourism market, boost the quality of services and stimulate the growth of the regional economy.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the extent of the impact of Academic Supervision on the improvement of learning quality. This research summarizes and analyzes previous studies to provide a comprehensive overview of the impact of academic supervision on the quality of learning. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method in the form of data analysis. (library rescarch). The data collection technique was carried out by systematically reviewing scientific literature, including journals, articles, books, and other sources. Where this research explains how Academic Supervision implemented in schools can improve the quality of classroom learning. This research examines 10 articles on the influence of academic supervision on the improvement of learning quality. The findings were processed through data collection, and then analyzed and described descriptively. And the results of this research indicate that efforts to improve the quality of learning through academic supervision can be successful if: (1) there is a paradigm shift from the principal and teachers regarding supervision, which initially viewed supervision as inspection, to supervision as a service to teachers aimed at improving learning. (2) there is good planning in the supervision process, including pre-supervision activities, during observation, as well as reflection and follow-up post-supervision, and leading to continuous improvement.

Abstract

Toxic masculinity is a manifestation of excessive masculine dominance, including violence, aggression, and suppression of emotions. This study analyses how toxic masculinity is reflected in two of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories, The Black Cat (1845) and The Tell-Tale Heart (1843). Using a qualitative approach and R. W. Connell's theory of hegemonic masculinity, this study reveals that toxic masculinity in both stories is seen through aggressive domination, violence against weak groups, and the failure of the main characters to manage their emotions. In The Black Cat, toxic masculinity manifests through violence against animals and his wife, fuelled by alcoholism. Meanwhile, in The Tell-Tale Heart, the physical domination of an old man reflects the need to assert power. This research demonstrates the relevance of this phenomenon to the challenges of modern society and recommends interdisciplinary analyses to deepen the understanding of the impact of toxic masculinity on social relationships.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of the trance method as an innovative approach to exploring and developing the dance talents of 4th and 5th-grade students at SD 2 Baubau. The trance method involves guiding learners into a transformative state that enhances their creativity and expression. In this state, learners experience a deeper connection with their bodies and emotions, enabling them to explore dance movements and expressions authentically and personally. The method also aims to improve learners' focus and concentration, allowing them to quickly grasp dance movements, refine techniques, and enhance their skills more effectively. The research process includes six stages: (1) observing students in grades 4 and 5, (2) analyzing their dance talents, (3) classifying students based on their abilities, (4) implementing the trance method, (5) fostering movement creativity, and (6) documenting the findings. The results of this study are intended to serve as a reference for teachers in organizing extracurricular activities, providing practical strategies to unlock students’ creativity and nurture their dance talents. This research highlights the potential of the trance method as an effective tool for developing students’ interests and skills in dance, contributing to more engaging and personalized learning experiences.

Abstract

Fillers, such as “uh” and “uhm,” played a crucial role in spontaneous spoken communication. Despite their importance, research on fillers in debate competitions remained limited, with most studies focusing on classroom contexts. This study addressed this gap by examining the types and functions of fillers used in National School Debating Championships (NSDC) 2023 and 2024, highlighting their pedagogical implications. Using a descriptive qualitative case study approach, it analyzed utterances with fillers from debate finals. The findings revealed that lexicalized fillers, such as repetitive phrases, were used more frequently than unlexicalized fillers. Additionally, fillers served five functions: hesitation, mitigation, time-creating, empathizing, and editing-term devices. These insights underscored the importance of incorporating fillers into English teaching and learning to enhance fluency and confidence. By understanding how to use fillers strategically, students could improve their speaking skills, particularly in high-pressure environments like debates.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and analyze science literacy assessment instruments for grade VIII junior high school students using Rasch modeling. The development and analysis of the instrument was carried out with an approach that includes content, substantive, structural, and consequential aspects. The science literacy assessment instrument was developed based on eight science learning materials for grade VIII semester 1, designed to represent science literacy competencies according to PISA standards, namely: explaining phenomena scientifically, interpreting data and evidence scientifically, and evaluating and designing scientific enquiry. The questions are presented in the form of multiple choice with a total of 48 itemsThis study used the Research and Development (RD) method with Tessmer's Formative Research design. The research approach applied is mixed methods, which combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. Research data were obtained from 158 students at SMPN 7 Brebes. The results of data analysis using the Rasch model with the R version 4.4.2 program and the eRm package showed that 85% of the items were valid with a p value 0.01. Based on validation covering content, psychometric, and construct aspects (consisting of content, substantive, structural, and external), this instrument meets the requirements as a good quality item

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model on students' motivation and learning outcomes in the topic of function limits in class XI IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkah. The method used is quantitative with a true experimental design, involving 72 students from class XI IPS 4 as the experimental group and XI IPS 5 as the control group. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to evaluate the differences in learning outcomes and motivation before and after the implementation of the STAD model. The results indicate a significant increase in students' motivation and learning outcomes following the application of the STAD model. Meaningful learning, effective discussion coordination, and motivation to collaborate are key factors for the success of this model. Teachers are also expected to present engaging lessons to enhance student enthusiasm and involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of applying repetition theory to enhance beginning reading skills among foreign learners at Thammasat Wittaya School in Thailand. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this classroom action research involved 15 Matthayom 2 students over one month in August 2024. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study focused on five assessment criteria: accuracy of voicing and writing, pronunciation fairness, intonation fairness, fluency, and clarity of voice. The results indicate that repetition theory positively impacts learners’ reading abilities, with significant variation in performance among students. Some learners showed consistent improvement, while others required more intensive support. such as Nunchaona getting 18, Sadeen getting 17, Najwa getting 16, and Chanapa getting 16, showing consistent good performance in all aspects of the assessment. On the other hand, learners like Nisna got 7, Nadir got 7, and Nur got 10. These learners need more intensive guidance. In-depth analysis of learners' reading ability was conducted through five main aspects: accuracy of writing, pronunciation fairness, intonation fairness, fluency, and clarity of voice. The results showed significant variation in ability among learners.
