Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between monetary and macroeconomic variables affecting inflation and the money supply in Indonesia from 1993 to 2024. Specifically, it examines the effects of the amount of money in circulation, interest rates, fuel prices, and government spending on inflation, as well as the effects of inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and household consumption on the money supply. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data and applies a two-stage least squares (2SLS) simultaneous equation model with analysis conducted through the EViews program. The results indicate that the amount of money in circulation has a significant positive effect on inflation, while interest rates, fuel prices, and government spending show positive but insignificant effects. Conversely, inflation significantly influences the amount of money in circulation, while interest rates, the exchange rate, and household consumption have no significant effect. Simultaneously, both model equations demonstrate that the tested variables jointly have a significant impact on inflation and the money supply in Indonesia. These findings suggest that monetary expansion remains a key determinant of inflation dynamics in Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of prudent monetary policy and coordinated fiscal management.

Abstract

This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of game-based learning in biomechanics. The research is grounded in the need for innovative learning methods that can enhance engagement, motivation, and comprehension of biomechanical concepts, which are often considered complex and abstract. The study employed a qualitative exploratory design, with data collected through the analysis of scientific articles and relevant research published within the last five years. The findings indicate that game-based learning fosters more interactive and enjoyable learning experiences, encouraging students to actively engage with biomechanical concepts. Students reported an increase in intrinsic motivation, deeper conceptual understanding, and the development of critical thinking skills. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, such as limited facilities, teachers’ readiness in designing educational games, and variations in students’ learning styles. Overall, this study highlights that integrating games into biomechanics learning holds significant potential to improve learning effectiveness, provided that adequate facilities, teacher training, and proper implementation strategies are ensured.

Abstract

Writing is a key component of English language learning. This study aimed to explore the difficulties faced by junior high school students in writing descriptive texts in English and to identify the linguistic aspects that hinder their performance. In this study, the researchers used a qualitative case study design which involved 36 seventh-grade students from SMPN 8 Cimahi as the research subjects. The findings revealed that students performed best in content (26.89%), indicating that they were able to stay on topic and generate relevant ideas. In contrast, the lowest scores were found in grammar (16.61%) and mechanics (17.99%), reflecting frequent errors in tense use, subject–verb agreement, punctuation, and capitalization. Interviews further found that limited vocabulary, low writing confidence, and difficulty in idea organization were major obstacles. Despite these challenges, students showed positive attitudes toward learning English and were more motivated when engaging in fun and interactive learning activities, such as games and outdoor tasks. These findings suggest that integrating vocabulary-building activities and communicative grammar practice into writing instruction can help students enhance their descriptive writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of popular songs in teaching listening skills to eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Palu. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental group taught using popular songs and a control group taught using conventional methods. The research instrument was a listening comprehension test administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the treatment. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney U test to compare posttest scores between groups and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test to compare pretest and posttest scores within each group. The results revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p 0.05), with the experimental group achieving a higher posttest mean score (94.63) than the control group (85.66). The improvement in the experimental group was also greater than in the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of popular songs is more effective than conventional methods in enhancing students’ listening skills.
