Abstract

Electronic medical records is inseparable from issues related to patient safety risk management. The X Primary Health Center, which has implemented electronic medical records, has still experienced patient safety incidents. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the implementation of electronic medical records and patient safety risk management. The results of the study showed that the implementation of electronic medical records was in accordance with the six indicators for the organization of electronic medical records and the implementation of patient safety risk management met five out of four indicators in the risk management scope and five items of patient safety goals. The indicator that was not met was the risks associated with the service facility. The Spearman rank correlation test result was 1.00, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, which is positive, meaning there is a significant, positive correlation between the implementation of electronic medical records and patient safety risk management at the X Primary Health Center. The study suggests that the maintenance of electronic medical records should be carried out outside of service hours and efforts should be made to meet the required resources.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality among women; however, it is highly preventable through early detection and proper reproductive hygiene practices. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge of vulva hygiene awareness and cervical cancer prevention behaviors among non-health major female university students. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed, involving 31 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that assessed vulva hygiene awareness and cervical cancer prevention behaviors. The results showed that 18 respondents (58.1%) had good knowledge of vulva hygiene, and the same number (58.1%) demonstrated good preventive behavior. Statistical analysis using Kendall’s Tau-b test revealed a significant relationship between vulva hygiene awareness and cervical cancer prevention behavior (p = 0.001), with a moderately strong correlation coefficient (r = 0.551). These findings suggest that higher levels of vulva hygiene knowledge are associated with better preventive behaviors. This study highlights the importance of implementing practical reproductive health education and peer-led interventions among non-health female students to promote early and sustained cervical cancer prevention.

Abstract

Environmental health is a global issue with the potential for significant impact on human health. A particular environmental problem that persists, especially in developing countries, is the issue of medical waste. If not properly managed, medical waste can have detrimental effects on the environment. The objective of this literature review is to determine the influence of medical waste on the environment in developing countries using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method. Articles were selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. This literature review specifically limits its focus to publications released within the last five years, namely from 2020 to 2024. This review discusses medical waste in Southeast Asian developing countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and the Philippines, and briefly explores the environmental impacts of this waste. The findings from the analyzed articles indicate that poorly managed medical waste results in severe environmental pollution and disease transmission. The study concludes that medical waste significantly affects environmental health.

Abstract

The six-day work system faces various challenges that need to be evaluated, particularly regarding efficiency, work-life balance, and its relevance in the modern era. While intended to enhance productivity, the additional workday often leads to fatigue, which negatively impacts work performance. An imbalance between work and personal life can affect employees' physical and mental health, ultimately reducing motivation and overall performance. The objective of this study is to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of the six-day work system in the SPI Unit at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital, Semarang. The study aims to understand this phenomenon within the specific context of Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital. Data collection was conducted through interviews with the Human Resources Manager, the Head of SPI, and SPI employees. The findings indicate that the six-day work system can reduce productivity, increase fatigue, and add operational costs, whereas a five-day work system is more efficient. In the digital era, a more adaptive work system is increasingly relevant to ensure regulatory compliance, improve supervision quality, and support the strategic objectives of the SPI Unit. Therefore, implementing a flexible work model that aligns with labor regulations can enhance employee well-being and improve hospital operational efficiency.

Abstract

Work fatigue is one of the significant occupational health issues as it can reduce productivity and increase the risk of workplace accidents. This study aims to analyze the relationship between noise intensity and work stress on work fatigue among workers in the wood sawmill industry. This quantitative study with a correlational design was conducted at UD Jati Widodo, Pati Regency, involving 38 respondents selected through total sampling. Noise levels were measured using a Sound Level Meter, work stress was assessed using a validated and reliable questionnaire, and work fatigue was measured using a Reaction Timer based on light stimulus. Analysis using the Spearman test showed a significant and positive correlation between work stress and work fatigue (p = 0.004; r = 0.462), while the relationship between noise and work fatigue was also significant but with a negative correlation (p = 0.016; r = -0.388). These findings indicate that work stress is a more dominant factor influencing fatigue than noise. Practically, the results of this study recommend the importance of work stress management as a preventive measure to reduce work fatigue among workers in the wood sawmill industry, such as through psychosocial counseling, job rotation, or stress coping training.

Abstract

Microplastic pollution has been widely reported in aquatic environments, including in water, sediment, and organisms like fish. The presence of microplastics in aquatic ecosystems is a significant environmental concern due to the potential harm they can cause to aquatic life. This study aims to determine the presence of microplastics in food sources and their health impacts. The research was conducted as a literature review using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method. Articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The results show that microplastics are present in food sources such as fish, tofu, and water. Microplastics were also found in human feces. The harmful effects of microplastic contamination on humans, including through organisms like fish, can lead to their accumulation in the respiratory tract, digestive tract, and other organs, causing irritation. If left for a long time, this can lead to inflammation, which may trigger the development of tumors or even cancer. This study concludes that microplastics are present in food sources and can have adverse health effects.
