Abstract

This research aims to improve students' science learning outcomes through the application of the Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) approach for fifth-grade students at SDN 001 Kasikan, Tapung Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau, for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research was conducted from March to April 2024. With a total of 25 students, 15 male students, and 10 female students. The design of this research is Classroom Action Research. (PTK). The parameters measured are student learning outcomes, student activities, and teacher activities. The research instruments used are the question item sheet and the observation sheet for student and teacher activities. The results of the first meeting of Cycle I observations show that the teacher's activity was good at 71.43%, and the second meeting was 78.57% in the good category. For Cycle II, the observation of the teacher's activity increased to the very good category at 92.86% and Cycle II at 96.42% in the very good category. Meanwhile, the students' activities were in accordance with the plan, with the students' activities also increasing to the good category in Cycle 1, meeting 1 at 71.43%, meeting 2 at 85.71%, Cycle II, meeting 1 at 89.29%, and meeting 2 at 92.86% in the very good category. Meanwhile, the students' learning outcomes also showed improvement, with the initial average score of 59.20 increasing to 72.64 in the first cycle and further rising to 81.12 in the second cycle. The percentage of completeness in the first cycle was 68% and in the second cycle was 92%. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) model can enhance the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 001 Kasikan, Tapung Hulu District, Kampar Regency.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are the results of the learning process to achieve specific goals, so the research aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of the fourth-grade students at MI Al-Kifayah Pekanbaru through the application of the Student Facilitator and Explaining Cooperative Learning Model. The research took place from October 30, 2023, to November 10, 2023, with 4 learning sessions and 2 daily quizzes. The subjects in the study are 20 students from MI Al-Kifayah Pekanbaru. The form of the research is classroom action research consisting of two cycles. The data collection technique in the research was conducted using observation techniques and learning outcome tests. The test techniques included daily quizzes I and daily quizzes II. The mathematics learning outcomes of the students were analyzed for student mastery with the average mathematics learning outcomes of the fourth-grade students at MI Al-Kifayah Pekanbaru. The average learning outcome analysis compared the results before and after the intervention.From the comparison results, there is an improvement in the learning outcomes of the 4th-grade students at Damaia Sejahtera Elementary School, Pekanbaru. At the baseline score, the number of students who completed the course was 7 students (35%), in the first daily test the number of students who completed was 11 students (45%), an increase of 5 students, and in the second daily test, the number of students who completed was 16 students (80%). The average student learning outcome at the baseline score was 67.9, in the first daily test it was 76, and in the second daily test, it became 81.65. The above results can be concluded that the application of the cooperative learning model student facilitator and explaining can improve the learning outcomes of 4th-grade students at MI Al-Kifayah Pekanbaru.

Abstract

The purpose of learning media is to achieve learning objectives optimally. Observations at MI PSM Salak Gemarang, particularly in Grade II, show that classroom teachers still make minimal use of varied and innovative learning media during the learning process. This thesis discusses the effect of quartet card media on learning outcomes in terms of student activity—specifically, how and whether quartet card media affects learning outcomes in terms of student activity in the PPKN subject for Grade II at MI PSM Salak Gemarang. This research uses a quantitative research method with an experimental research design. The population and sample in this study are all Grade II students at MI PSM Salak Gemarang. Data collection techniques include tests and non-participant observation. The research instruments consist of tests—namely pretest and posttest—and observation, which is conducted when the learning media is applied during the learning process in the study. Data analysis involves several tests: instrument testing, prerequisite analysis tests, and hypothesis testing. The instrument test results show that 20 questions can be used, and the researcher used all of them for data collection. The prerequisite analysis tests include the normality test, homogeneity test, and N-Gain test. The normality test results show a pretest significance value of 0.636 > 0.05 and a posttest significance value of 0.495 > 0.05. The homogeneity test result shows a significance value of 0.412 > 0.05. The N-Gain test result is 0.3306. Finally, the hypothesis test is conducted using the t-test, which produces a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.008 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on the speaking skills of fourth-grade students at MI Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 50 students, with 25 students in class IV A as the experimental group and 25 students in class IV B as the control group. The instrument used was a speaking skills test assessed with a rubric including fluency, pronunciation accuracy, sentence structure, and confidence. The results showed a significant improvement in speaking skills. The average speaking score of the experimental class increased from 67.4 to 82.6 (an improvement of 15.2 points), while the control class increased from 66.8 to 73.2 (an improvement of 6.4 points). The N-Gain score in the experimental class was 0.428 (moderate category). The prerequisite tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, allowing the t-test to be applied. The independent t-test result showed sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the TPS model on students’ speaking skills. Therefore, TPS can be considered an effective alternative strategy in Indonesian language learning to enhance students’ speaking skills at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah
