In learning mathematics, mathematical communication skills play an important role because it allows students to express their mathematical thinking in writing. One of the approaches to improve this skill is through the application of cooperative learning that utilizes the mind mapping method. This study aims to assess the impact of cooperative learning model with mind mapping method on students' mathematical communication skills. The research method applied was quantitative with a quasi-experiment design. The population in this study were VIII grade students of Ma'arif Miftahul Ulum Junior High School in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The two classes involved in this study were class VIII A with 21 students and class VIII B with 20 students, which were used as research samples. Data collection techniques include mathematical communication ability tests and observations of the learning process whose results will be tested with statistical tests using SPSS 26.0. The results proved that there was a significant effect of using cooperative learning model with mind mapping method on students' mathematical communication skills, as seen from the hypothesis testing results with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.051 > 0.05.

Mathematics is a very important lesson that is used in various aspects of life. NCTM math learning improves communication, problem-solving, relationships, and positive attitudes toward mathematics. Polya says problem solving consists of four stages: understanding problems, planning solutions, implementing plans, and producing results. The study investigated the ability of eleventh-grade students to solve problems with row and row material using Polya indicators. The study involved twenty students from UT Karya Dharma High School and used qualitative methods. The results of the analysis show that the problem-solving process is influenced by inexperience in understanding the problem. Students who understand the problem well tend to make mistakes in the application and evaluation formula, while students who lack understanding the problem solve through the stages correctly. Ineffective solutions arise from a less thorough understanding of the problem. It shows how important it is to understand the problem accurately before proceeding to the solution stage.

Action research was conducted in Class I of RA Kartini 01 Public Elementary School Gendongan 01, focusing on implementing a differentiated learning model to enhance students' collaboration skills and learning outcomes. This study comprised two cycles of action research. Data were collected through teacher observation sheets during the implementation of the discovery learning model with a differentiated approach, as well as through student learning outcome observation sheets in the form of post-tests. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' collaboration skills from the pre-cycle to Cycle II. In the pre-cycle, only 2 students (7.41%) were categorized as highly capable (81-100). This number increased to 5 students (19.23%) in Cycle I and 10 students (38.46%) in Cycle II. The capable category (61-80) also showed improvement from 4 students (14.81%) in the pre-cycle to 7 students (26.92%) in Cycle I and 11 students (42.31%) in Cycle II. Students in the less capable (21-40) and incapable (0-20) categories drastically decreased from 19 students (70.37%) in the pre-cycle to 8 students (30.77%) in Cycle I and no students (0%) in Cycle II. There was also a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with students in the highly capable category (81-100) increasing from 12 students (44.40%) in the pre-cycle to 16 students (59.30%) in Cycle I and 19 students (70.40%) in Cycle II. There were no students categorized as less capable (21-40) or incapable (0-20) in Cycles I and II. Therefore, the implementation of a differentiated learning model has proven effective in enhancing students' collaboration skills and academic achievement.

This research aims to determine the ability to understand mathematical concepts of high school students in terms of gender in polynomial material. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection was carried out in class XI MIA, totaling 36 consisting of 14 male students and 22 female students at Bangun Cipta Rumbia High School for the 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection was carried out by tests and interviews. The interviews conducted by researchers used 6 subjects as representatives consisting of 3 male subjects and 3 female subjects with the criteria of high, medium and low comprehension ability. The data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The triangular method is used to test the validity of research data by comparing test and interview results. The results of this research show that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class XI MIA students has an average percentage in the low category reaching 58.3%. Male students in the high and medium categories understand mathematical concepts better than females. The indicators of low category students' ability to understand concepts have not been fully achieved because they have not been able to describe the problem completely.

Blood demand prediction is important to avoid the instability of blood stocks or supplies. Too much and abundant blood stock can cause losses, because the blood will be wasted when it passes the storage expiration date. Meanwhile, too little stock can risk a shortage of blood supply. To anticipate this, it is necessary to predict the amount of blood demand that must be received in the future in order to achieve optimum blood availability. Fuzzy Mamdani and Fuzzy Sugeno methods that use the concept of fuzzy logic are considered capable of handling complexity and uncertainty in decision making, so they can be used to predict the amount of blood demand by considering the varying and uncertain amounts of blood demand and supply. The calculation results show that the Fuzzy Mamdani method has better accuracy than the Fuzzy Sugeno method with MAPE values of 16.707% and 17.987% respectively. The Fuzzy Mamdani method has an accuracy level in the good category according to the MAPE method and can be used to predict blood demand at PMI Medan.

This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to explore high school students' understanding of algebraic concepts in Sungai Penuh City. The sample consists of 30 10th-grade students who were subjects of the study, assessed using a validated algebraic concept understanding test. The research process involved introducing the research objectives to the students and administering the test with adequate time. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to identify answer patterns, challenges faced by students, and the level of understanding of algebraic concepts demonstrated. Findings indicate significant challenges in students' mathematical concept comprehension, particularly in grasping basic concepts such as algebraic terms and the use of mathematical representations. To enhance students' understanding, it is recommended to implement a holistic learning approach that strengthens foundational concepts, integrates various mathematical representations, and provides direct problem-solving experiences. This research is expected to contribute to improving the effectiveness of mathematics education at the high school level.

This study evaluates the impact of developing a culturally grounded GeoGebra application on students' mathematical visual thinking abilities. Against the backdrop of a dearth of educational applications catering to local cultures, the research aims to address this gap. The methodology encompasses pre-test and post-test assessments, learning motivation surveys, classroom observations, and interviews with both students and educators. Data analysis reveals a significant enhancement in students' mathematical visual thinking abilities following the utilization of the application, accompanied by an upsurge in their learning motivation levels. These findings are corroborated by classroom observations and interviews, underscoring the application's role in augmenting student engagement and facilitating a more concrete understanding of mathematical concepts. The implications of this study underscore the significance of integrating culturally grounded educational technology to enhance the efficacy of mathematics education within the students' cultural contexts

This study aimed to assess the difference in improving critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving abilities among students receiving cooperative learning with the TPS Square and TPS Share methods. The experimental method utilized a pretest-posttest control group design involving two groups of students from a secondary school. One group received instruction using the TPS Square method, while the other group utilized the TPS Share method. Research instruments comprised tests on critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving abilities. Data collected were analyzed using non-parametric statistical techniques. The results of the analysis revealed a significant improvement from the pretest to the posttest, as reflected in higher test scores in the final stage. Based on the t-test calculations, the critical value (t-table) at a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) was found to be 2.514. With the computed t-value exceeding the critical value (2.157 > 2.514), it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the average critical thinking and mathematical problem-solving abilities before and after instruction using the cooperative learning models TPS and TPSq among the students of grade XII at SMA Al Washliyah 1 Medan during the academic year 2022-2023.

Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan metode goal programming untuk mengoptimalkan perencanaan produksi keripik. Goal programming dipilih karena kemampuannya menangani berbagai tujuan seperti memaksimalkan produksi, mengurangi biaya, dan meningkatkan keuntungan, sehingga sangat cocok untuk perencanaan produksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui dua tahap: peramalan produksi menggunakan metode pemulusan eksponensial dan optimalisasi perencanaan dengan goal programming. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua perencanaan mencapai kondisi optimal tanpa penyimpangan pada variabel deviasi, menunjukkan solusi yang optimal. Analisis penjualan aktual selama lima bulan terakhir menunjukkan tingkat akurasi tinggi, dengan persentase kesamaan 85%-96% dibandingkan dengan perencanaan menggunakan goal programming. Oleh karena itu, model ini efektif sebagai alat bantu pengambilan keputusan produksi, meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, dan mengalokasikan sumber daya dengan lebih baik. Implementasi di UD. Keripik Cinta Mas Hendro menunjukkan perencanaan produksi yang optimal, memenuhi permintaan pasar, menjaga biaya produksi dalam batas, dan mencapai target keuntungan.

Banjir merupakan bencana alam yang diakibatkan oleh genangan air dalam jumlah besar di suatu daerah. Sebagai Kota yang terus berkembang, Medan menghadapi risiko banjir yang semakin kompleks dan meningkat. Oleh karena itu, analisis kerentanan banjir Kota Medan secara detail menjadi sangat penting. Penelitian ini menggunakan sitem fuzzy untuk mengidentifikasi wilayah yang lebih rentan dan memetakan wilayah yang aman dari kemungkinan terjadinya bencana banjir. Beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi proses perhitungan meliputi kepadatan penduduk, luas daerah aliran sungai, tinggi wilayah, dan curah hujan. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu Metode defuzzifikasi Centroid terbukti lebih unggul dengan tingkat keberhasilan sistem mencapai 76%, dibandingkan dengan metode defuzzifikasi Mean of Maximum (MOM) yang hanya 48%.
