Abstract

The nutritional benefits of silkworms have been identified, but the daily percentage of silkworms that provides optimal growth and survival for kelabau larvae has not been thoroughly studied. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different percentages of silkworms on the growth of kelabau larvae. This experimental study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design at the Mandiangin Freshwater Aquaculture Center, Karang Intan District, South Kalimantan, for 10 days. Three treatments with three replications were fed silkworms at 10%, 20%, and 30% of the total weight of the test fish per day. The 30% feeding rate in treatment C resulted in optimal growth of kelabau larvae, followed by treatment B, while treatment A produced the lowest growth in absolute weight, mean absolute length, and SGR. The highest survival rate (SR) was obtained in treatment C at 95%, followed by treatments A and B at 87%.

Abstract

Rice from the Siam Banjar cultivar has become a very salable commodity in the South Kalimantan. The high interest in consumption of Siam Banjar rice makes the price of this rice quite high at the retailer level, but the selling price of dry milled unhulled rice and rice is quite cheap at the farmer level. The purpose of this study was to map the Siam Banjar rice trading system so that it became a recommendation for farmers in distributing rice and setting prices so that they would not suffer losses due to high capital of agricultural production facilities. Observational indicators were analysis of institutions and functions of trading system, channel of trade, analysis of trading margin, farmer's share, profit, marketing costs, R/C ratio and analysis of market structure in three Village this’s Pematang Panjang, Gudang Hirang, and Abumbun Jaya, on Sungai Tabuk District, Banjar in October – December 2025 with snowball sampling method. The results of the analysis show that the channel system of trade from farmers to Gapoktan to rice mills to retailers to final consumers is the most profitable channel, but capital from Gapoktan and rice mills is a limiting factor in accommodating the value of profits that should be felt by farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the condition factor of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.), identify parasitic species, and analyze parasite infestation levels (prevalence) in floating net cages (KJA) at the Mina Harapan Baru fish farming group, Awang Bangkal Barat Village, Karang Intan District. A descriptive, qualitative survey was used. Sampling was conducted three times at seven-day intervals using random sampling on 15 fish. Ectoparasite examination was performed on skin mucus and gills under a microscope. Observed parameters included fish condition factor, parasite species, prevalence, and water quality. Results showed that common carp were infected by seven parasite species: Trichodina sp., Dactylogyrus sp., Oodinium sp., Digenea, Henneguya sp., Epistylis sp., and Gyrodactylus sp. Overall prevalence reached 93.33%, categorized as severe infestation. The highest prevalence occurred in Dactylogyrus sp. (80%) and Digenea (73.33%). Water quality showed temperatures of 26.4–28.8°C, pH 7.91–7.99, DO 2.9–3.0 mg/L, and ammonia 0.5 mg/L. DO and ammonia values were outside optimal ranges, likely triggering high parasite infestation

Abstract

The primary objective of the research on the prospects for developing the Palm Sugar processing business at the Henahuafiz Production House in Pesayangan Barat Village, Martapura District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, is to technically determine the palm sugar production process, analyze the magnitude of costs, revenues, business income, and identify and solve existing problems. Furthermore, it aims to determine the development prospects so that it can serve as a case study for the community interested in this field. The resulting products have evolved from ordinary palm sugar to various variants, such as granular palm sugar (large and mini), ant-sugar (palm sugar powder), liquid palm sugar, and ginger palm sugar. The average production during September 2025, or 3-4 production cycles, yielded 489 kg of Large Granular Palm Sugar with a price of Rp 23,000/kg, resulting in a total revenue (TR) of Rp 11,247,000 (eleven million two hundred forty-seven thousand rupiah) and 75 kg of Small Granular Palm Sugar with a price of Rp 24,000/kg, resulting in a total revenue (TR) of Rp 1,800,000 (one million eight hundred thousand rupiah). Thus, the total revenue for September 2025 was Rp 13,047,000 (thirteen million forty-seven thousand rupiah), with the total income from this business amounting to Rp 3,229,911 (three million two hundred twenty-nine thousand nine hundred eleven rupiah) for the month of September 2025.
