Abstract

This paper discusses the content of Q.S. al-Baqarah ([2]: 67-73). The data used in the preparation of this paper is the data that is primary and secondary. The primary source is data obtained from the core source. In conducting a study of a verse, it is clear that the primary data source is derived from the Qur'an, precisely on Q.S. al-Baqarah ([2]: 67-73). Secondary data is data obtained from other sources that are still related to the problem and provide interpretation of the primary source. The method used in analyzing this paper is the tahlili method. This method describes the meaning contained by the Qur'an, verse by verse, and letter after letter according to the order in the Mushaf. The description includes the various aspects which the interpreted verses contain, such as the meaning of the vocabulary, the connotation of the sentence, the background of the verse down, its relation to other verses, both before and after. And do not miss the opinion that has been given regarding the interpretation of these verses, whether delivered by the Prophet, companions, the tabi'in, as well as other commentators. This study shows that in Q.S. (2): 67-73) there are values of moral education which include: 1) morals in asking, (2) morals to parents, (3) patience of educators, (4) educator honesty, and (5) obedience of learners.

Abstract

Islamic education philosophy is an educational philosophy based on Quran and al-Sunnah as a source of Islamic teachings. In addition, Islamic education philosophy also adopts sources from others that are not contrary to Islamic teachings. Thus, the source of guidance for Islamic education philosophy consists of two categories: the source of normative and historical sources. Normative sources are sources derived from the Quran and al-Sunnah (nash); while the historical source is a thought about the philosophy of Islamic education adopted from outside of Islamic teachings. Thus, there are three schools in the philosophy of Islamic education: the liberal, conservative, and critical groups that combine the two earlier groups (sholih li kulli zaman wa makan). This paper will discuss the subject matter of Islamic education philosophy and the sources of the three groups of flow by discussing the elements contained in the teachings of Islam, such as God, man, and nature. The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding that the basic principles contained therein can be applied in Islamic education

Education is a pillar for a nation to move forward. Education serves to produce the nation’s future generation having strong intelectual capability accompanied with good character and good morals. Lately signs of decadence or moral degradation experienced by the public is also increasingly emerging. Violence, fights, sexual harassment, drugs, corruption have become a phenomenon and consumption of media every day. Acceleration of development we have achieved is not followed by a strong moral nation. Although Islam is embraced by the majority population of Indonesia but in application the values embodied in the teachings of Islam is only understood teoritically. It just is not grounded in the applicative level. Islamic education is therefore expected to become one of the main variables that can perform a strategic role in the formation of the nation’s morals. Islamic education is expected to play a role in the development of identity and national character. With the spiritual and moral growth it shapes this nation to be individuals who have a high intelectual capacity and high values of morality.

Abstract

Trustee education programs should allow for self-direction and be customized to the schedules, needs, and preferred learning styles of individual trustees. While there is a common core of knowledge that all trustees should have, different trustees will select what they need to learn and will learn it in different ways. So, a variety of opportunities should be available, although all approaches should include time to discuss questions, principles, and applications. Right education leads to refinement of conduct. With refinement of behaviour, one’s life gets sublimated. Good intellect alone can lead happiness which is the source of peace. Proper education brings about association with good people. The company of the good is peace itself. Teachers are like guideposts. It is only when you play this role well that you will have done your duty by the boys and girls to divinise their lives. Although secular education may appear necessary for mundane existence, the importance of a spiritual basis for it should be recognised. However, the responsibility for imparting a spiritual orientation to education rests not only on teachers, but also on the parents as well as the authorities.

Abstract

In responding to modernity, indeed, education including Islamic education is supposed to consider socio-cultural frameworks. Pesantren which resembles madrasa or a religious school elsewhere in the Islamic world, seem to have been of some interest to Western scholars. The evidence can be seen from some books published by western writers. Indonesian scholars, on the other hand, have produced an enormous literature, including countless books and scholarly theses. A large number of these works assert that pesantren and modernity are not incompatible but can work together for the betterment of the nation. The discourse on cultural and social change has influenced all aspects of life including the orientation of education, social ethics approach and values system of the pesantren. Considering that socio-cultural changes are a learning process, then religious education, especially represented by pesantren, can take part in socio-cultural roles. One unique characteristic of moderate pesantrens which has enabled them to produce tolerant and pluralistic people is their balance in teaching Islamic legal aspects (Fikih) and the spirituality (Sufism). As aresult, they produce people with an exclusionary stance who see the world as black and white and who lack the beauty and inner meaning of the religion: peace, tolerance, respect, love and care for others, and other esoteric and humanitarian traits.

Abstract

Character education is a positive offer in the eradication of moral crises which particularly emerged in our students. Therefore, the internalization of values of character education in the educational institution is a must. As an Islamic education institution in Indonesia, the existence of Boarding school is considered to be able to develop values of character education which may be done through formal or non-formal curriculum. This is so because since its early existence, Boarding school has delineated its distinctive feature which is different from the other common types of education. Here, the implementation of character values have been integrated (within large portion) in the religious subjects. Character education, at least in the discourse, still a potent tool in addressing the arious issues that whack this nation. Not only in Indonesia, even in developed countries such as the United States, Germany, Japan, and, still rely on character education as a mainstay of kick to overcome various moral issues at hand. Character education became very warm issue in the education scene in Indonesia due to the rampant cases of moral that afflicts this nation, ranging from scenes in high State institutions, educational nstitutions until those cases that occur in the streets. The cases allegedly due to the failure of education that has lasted until today. Criticisms of the educational world tends to be mechanical, cognitive aspects than prefer the affective and psychomotor, and a series of spicy criticism more have graced the writings of educational expert. In order to respond to these concerns, the Government now, through the Ministry of education and culture and supported by the Ministry of Religion, raised character education agenda as the national education agenda. Sayang sayang thousand, until now there has been no clear concept of philosophy as well as on the technical implementation. This paper will offer solutions to various problems in philosophy as well as the implementation of character education. The author of the theme of humanist-religious is one of spirits in character education. The reason is that to improve the character of a nation, certainly could not depart from values which do not come from the nation itself. Humanist-religious is a character that belongs to the people of Indonesia so that character education is applied in this country inevitably had to depart from this character. After discussing the philosophy of character education from the perspective of humanist-religious, the author offers some alternatives that are related to the stages of education, learning methods, as well as the position of teachers in character education
