Abstract

Contextual teaching learning (CTL) is an educational process that aims to help students see meaning in academic material they are learning by connecting academic subjects with the context of their daily, which is related to personal circumstances, social, and cultural development. In Contextual teaching and learning (CTL) takes an approach that is more empowering students with the expectations of students able to construct knowledge in their minds, rather than memorizing facts. Besides, students learn through experience rather than memorize, given knowledge of the facts and not a concept readily accepted but something that must be constructed by the students. To achieve this goal include the eight components of the system, the following: making meaningful connections, doing meaningful work, conduct self-regulated learning, collaborate, think critically and creatively, helping individuals to grow and develop, achieving high standards , and using authentic assessment. In learning PAI, CTL developed by focusing on moral or affective touch protege acquired through personal experience that photographing their daily environment. This touch your heart and thoughts will inspire students to practice it.

Abstract

Implementation SNP (Education National Standard) in schools in each grade is the minimum criteria that must be met as a measure of achievement in education. One of the positive implications of achievement is the outcome of consistency in implementing the SNP is the emergence of the advantages possessed by the school. The schools’ competition in Samarinda had run to meet the demands of eight educational standards. Excellences that owned by the Madrasah (Islamic Schools) where both of the Madrasah were as a model among many madrasah (Islamic Schools) in Samarinda. The excellences are based on the fulfillment of the standards established in the SNP. These advantages are also implications for the public interest in both of Madrasah to send their children. The schools effort to bring school-superiority in terms of educating the students on aspects of cognitive, affective and psychomotor by presenting models of learning that are innovative, creative and fun. In addition, the schools have also implemented a school-based management model (SBM). School strategies in planning, implementation, and evaluation for the attainment of the eight standard of SNP are by involving various parties through school committee and stakeholders that are considered competent in fulfill the needs of the development of madrasah

Abstract

Participation is an active and initiative process that comes from citizen where it will be realized as an actual effort if fulfilling three factors; a good will, ability and a change to participate. In the context of education, the social participation is found in the form the people participation to the process of education. That participation and involvement can be in terms of management development aspect, curriculum, to the learning process. This paper tries to describe the models of social participation at SMP Plus Melati since this is one of the best schools in Samarinda. The models of social participation were found, such as: institutional, educative, and cultural participation. There are also some cooperation, such as: institutional mutual understanding, managerial development, finance, curriculum, and cooperation with some Moslem leaders in Samarinda.

Abstract

This research was to measure the level of satisfaction users of Management Education Islam alumnus at public and privat sectors. Furthermore, the research is to mapping the types of professions and distribution of alumnus in East Kalimantan. The aims of this research are to know key position and to measure level of satisfaction of the carrier institutions that use alumnus of Management Education Islam at East Kalimantan. This research is qualitative descriptive with study case approach. Writer used observation, questionnaire and documentation to collect data. Analysis of data using percentage formula and mean test. The conclusions are: (1) Alumnus of Management Education Islam has key position at carrier world with professions: Administration Staff at College, Bank Teller, Customer Service at Bank, Administration at Finance and at Telkomsel, Imam KUA, and Board on Religius Organizations; (2) Distribution of alumnus: Samarinda, Balikpapan, Nunukan, Tarakan, Bulungan and Paser; (3) 59% alumnus has key position appropriate with their academic background and 41% not appropriate; and (4) Level of measurement of the user of the alumnus at 2,318. It is at range 1,668-2,334 that means satisfy.  So we can say that alumnus of Management Education Islam in order to do their job is good enough.

Abstract

Islamic education philosophy is an educational philosophy based on Quran and al-Sunnah as a source of Islamic teachings. In addition, Islamic education philosophy also adopts sources from others that are not contrary to Islamic teachings. Thus, the source of guidance for Islamic education philosophy consists of two categories: the source of normative and historical sources. Normative sources are sources derived from the Quran and al-Sunnah (nash); while the historical source is a thought about the philosophy of Islamic education adopted from outside of Islamic teachings. Thus, there are three schools in the philosophy of Islamic education: the liberal, conservative, and critical groups that combine the two earlier groups (sholih li kulli zaman wa makan). This paper will discuss the subject matter of Islamic education philosophy and the sources of the three groups of flow by discussing the elements contained in the teachings of Islam, such as God, man, and nature. The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding that the basic principles contained therein can be applied in Islamic education.

Abstract

This research was inspired by some of the realities that the author found related to the implementation of character education, especially in several regencies/cities in East Kalimantan. Apart from the author’s concern toward the case of the moral decadence of the nation's children, this should be a demand and obligation for every educator to form the character of his students. Therefore, various models and innovations began to be developed by educational units led by creative teachers starting to package character-based learning designs and innovations. This research focuses on character models developed by the school. This research is a field work research that focuses on multi-site studies. Sources of data in this study include: teachers and students in several schools are the focus of research. The research locus is spread in several regions, namely: Tarakan, Bulungan, East Kutai and Bontang. The data collection techniques that the author uses in this study include: observations, interviews and documentations. Furthermore, the findings of the research data were processed using Milles and Hubberman's interactive analysis using the data reduction flow , data display and data conclusions . Based on the findings of the research, it can be concluded that the character values developed include: religious values, creative, independent and responsible, the spirit of nationality and love for the motherland, tolerance, communication and love the environment.
