Abstract

Criminal acts are actions that are prohibited by law and subject to sanctions. Perpetrators of criminal acts are often influenced by factors such as need, bad habits, or family environment. The criminal justice process does not only aim to punish, but also rehabilitate perpetrators through guidance in correctional institutions. In Indonesia, the correctional system is based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, emphasizing collaboration between prisoners, supervisors and the community. Law No. 22 of 2022 underlines the importance of coaching to prepare prisoners to return to society. However, overcrowding in detention centers often causes stress and negative behavior. Nganjuk Class IIB Detention Center addresses this issue with an Islamic boarding school-based coaching program aimed at increasing the faith and morals of inmates. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving observation, documentation and interviews. The results show that spiritual development programs, such as congregational prayers and recitations, are effective in increasing the spirituality of prisoners. However, challenges such as lack of motivation still exist. Therefore, more interesting coaching strategies are needed to optimally achieve rehabilitation goals. This program also prepares prisoners for reintegration with a stronger faith.

Abstract

Islamic education in the modern era faces increasingly complex challenges. The dynamics of globalization, technological advancements, and shifts in socio-cultural values drive the need for the recontextualization of Islamic education to remain relevant and adaptive. This recontextualization involves not only curriculum refinement but also more contextualized teaching approaches and methods suited to contemporary needs. It entails efforts to integrate Islamic values with general knowledge, aiming to cultivate a generation that is not only knowledgeable but also possesses strong Islamic character. This study seeks to analyze the strategies and approaches that can be applied in the recontextualization of Islamic education and to examine how this process can address current educational challenges. The research method used is a literature review, analyzing various sources, both classical and contemporary, to gain a comprehensive perspective on the recontextualization of Islamic education. The study findings indicate that Islamic education must adapt by developing teacher competencies, innovating learning methods, and adopting an integrative approach, allowing it to meet the demands of the times without compromising its core values

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of democratic leadership of school principals, teacher welfare, and school culture on teacher performance at SMPN in Bayan District, North Lombok. This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The population in this study consists of 102 respondents, and the entire population is used as the research sample (saturation sampling technique). The research instrument is a questionnaire administered directly to respondents after conducting validity and reliability tests. The data obtained were tested using three prerequisite tests: normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The hypothesis tests used in this study are the F test and the T test, analyzed using SPSS 16.0. The results of this study indicate that: (1) partially, the democratic leadership of school principals does not have a positive effect on teacher performance; (2) partially, teacher welfare has a positive effect on teacher performance; (3) partially, school culture has a positive effect on teacher performance. Simultaneously, the democratic leadership of school principals, teacher welfare, and school culture have a positive effect on teacher performance with a calculated F value greater than the table F value (36.059 > 3.09) with a significance value less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The implications of this study highlight the need to improve teacher welfare and develop a better school culture to optimize teacher performance. A positive and inclusive school culture can create an environment where all members of the school, including teachers, staff, and students, feel valued and motivated to participate in decision-making.

Abstract

Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PKn) has an important role in character building of students in elementary schools. This study aims to examine the integration of Pancasila values ​​in PKn learning and its impact on the development of students' character. The approach used in this study is qualitative with a literature study method. Data were collected from various articles, journals, and reliable sources, the criteria for selecting literature covered the period 2015-2024, relevance to the topic of character education and PKn, and sources from accredited journals. Of the several literatures analyzed, some came from international journals, while others were from national sources that discussed character education through PKn in elementary schools. The results of the study showed that the integration of Pancasila values, such as discipline, mutual cooperation, tolerance, and love for the country, can be done through various methods, including learning in and out of class, role models, and extracurricular activities. Therefore, to achieve success in character building, it is necessary to make modifications in the learning approach by prioritizing the integration of character values ​​as a whole. This research provides an important contribution to the development of more effective citizenship education in forming quality and nationalistic student characters.

Abstract

The future of education faces complex challenges related to technology adaptation, curriculum relevance, and educational accessibility. An innovative approach that continues to gain momentum is Game-Based Learning (GBL) and gamification, which aim to enhance student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes through interactive game elements. This study investigates the GBL approach and its impact within the context of digital education. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), analyzing recent literature from 2023 to 2024. The findings indicate that GBL incorporates advanced technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered interactive platforms. These technologies have proven effective in supporting project-based learning, promoting digital literacy, and personalizing educational experiences to meet individual student needs. Furthermore, gamification—using narrative elements, challenges, and rewards—has been shown to increase curiosity and deepen engagement in the learning process. In conclusion, GBL and gamification present significant potential to foster dynamic, interactive, and inclusive learning environments. When designed effectively, these methods can not only improve learning motivation but also equip students with the skills necessary to tackle the challenges of the digital age. Further research is essential to address implementation obstacles and ensure the optimal integration of these approaches into the broader education system

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) the implementation of the nature contemplation method at SD Inpres 15 Wamega, Raja Ampat Regency, (2) the effectiveness of the nature contemplation method in improving learning achievement in Islamic Religious Education, and (3) supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the nature contemplation method. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data analysis using descriptive techniques and data validity through source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that: (1) The implementation of the nature contemplation method was carried out by inviting students to observe the surrounding nature to analyze learning materials in a pleasant atmosphere. (2) The nature contemplation method is effective in improving student learning achievement in Islamic Religious Education subjects, as indicated by an increase in student understanding and evaluation scores. (3) Supporting factors include Wamega's strategic natural conditions, teacher support, and parental cooperation, while inhibiting factors include teacher professionalism, teacher educational qualifications, and unpredictable weather conditions. The implication of this study is the need for school policies in developing a local curriculum based on nature contemplation to improve student learning achievement.

Abstract

This research discusses the order of learning objectives at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level using a qualitative method. The article explains the types of learning goals, including national, institutional, curricular, and instructional objectives. Each level plays an important role in supporting the success of the learning process. Understanding how to structure these objectives helps teachers in planning their lessons more effectively. It also makes it easier to design learning strategies and evaluate student outcomes. Therefore, organizing learning goals properly is a crucial part of effective teaching and learning in Islamic elementary schools.

Abstract

This study explores how the ideas of education as liberation and metacognition are shown in the Korean drama Study Group (2025). The purpose of this research is to understand how the characters change the way they think and learn through reflection, teamwork, and self-awareness. The method used is qualitative content analysis by examining key scenes related to Paulo Freire’s theory and metacognitive strategies. The results show that the drama presents the struggles of students facing strong academic pressure in South Korea, but they grow through dialogical study groups. The characters learn to recognize their own strengths and weaknesses and develop appropriate learning strategies. In addition, Study Group serves as a critique of the Korean education system, which often emphasizes competition and individualism. This study concludes that Study Group illustrates how liberating and reflective education can help students become more independent, think critically, and support one another.

Abstract

The objectives of this scientific research are: 1) To analyze the implementation of the 2019 Madrasah curriculum in learning Islamic Religious Education subjects at MAN-IC Sorong, West Papua; 2) To describe the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the 2019 Madrasah Curriculum at MAN-IC Sorong, West Papua. This research uses descriptive qualitative research located at MAN-IC Sorong, West Papua. This research approach is a curricular scientific juridical approach. The primary data source in this research is the PAI-Aqidah Akhlak teacher as the main informant and additional informants, namely the head of MAN-IC Sorong, education staff and students. Secondary data sources in this research are KMA 183 of 2019, Madrasah Curriculum 2019, Aqidah Akhlak textbooks, and documentation. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews and documentation. Analysis of this research data through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Abstract

This research aims to determine the implications of child-friendly environmental education on strengthening the character of State Madrasah Aliyah students in Bontang City. In the current educational context, developing student character is the main focus in increasing the formation of individuals who are responsible and care about the environment. This study uses a qualitative research method with a field study approach, which involves participatory observation, interviews, and content analysis of various environmental education programs and activities carried out at the State Madrasah Aliyah in Bontang City. The research results show that child-friendly environmental education can make a positive contribution in strengthening students' character, especially in terms of environmental awareness, social concern and ethical values. These findings imply that child-friendly environmental education should be an integral part of the school curriculum, and a more holistic approach should be implemented to improve student character. The results of this research provide an important contribution to the debate about improving character education and its relevance in the context of Islamic education in Indonesia.
