Abstract

The high or low level of learning activities are influenced by the approach used by the teacher. There are at least two approaches, namely oriented approach to the teacher or so-called the teacher-oriented and student-oriented approach or the socalled student centered. The first approach is called autocratic type and the second approach is called democratic type. One of them is inquiry approach. Inquiry is a way of presenting the many lessons that engage students in mental processes of the invention framework. Inquiry emphasis on the process of finding their own answers by the observations, ask questions, submit allegations, data collection and concluded, all of which require scientific methodology. With this strategy, students are expected to find the true facts of observation, conjecture, until inference. This approach is to discover as a part of the inquiry. The inquiry is an expansion of the process of discovery that is used in more depth, the inquiry is in English inquiry, means the inquiry or examination, investigation, the inquiry as a process of the common man to seek and understand information. This approach is opposite of the view that students as subjects and objects in the study, having the basic ability to develop optimally according to ability.

Abstract

The reality of the diversity of the Indonesian people for this in the name of national stability is often the reason in this era. Today, discussing the concept of multicultural education in the public life of multiculturalism is very risky because nations mental is not ready yet to accept it. But these circumstances have to be blasted and blasted peacefully continue to seek and find the best solution to the nation. The paradigm of multicultural education includes the subjects of injustice, poverty, oppression and backwardness of minorities in various areas of social, cultural, economic, and errors in understanding other religions. Multicultural education should be directed so that all nations can enter into an entity called multicultural education institution, regardless of religion, poor, rich, gentry, students, and so on. Perhaps only with the well multicultural education will be able to be a solution for the nation of Indonesia. Promoting the concept of multicultural education is as part of efforts to reduce the potential horizontal and vertical national conflict. Multiculturalism is a risk that needs to be taken in developing the nation of Indonesia. This paper attempts to describe phenomena and urgency of multicultural education in the nation life.

Abstract

Al-Mawardi in the book Adab ad-Dunya wa ad-Din said that education and efforts to educate with expression of ta’dib. The using of terms of ta’dib consistently by Al-Mawardi in his book indicates that education as a conscious, planned, and continuous effort to train and develop the potential of the human being in order to establish a behavior, morals and ethics in life and refers to the enhancement of human dignity. Al-Mawardi said that know that the human soul is always dominated by lust with inclination on something useless and bad. Therefore, in order that human behavior is good, they need education and counseling process. To achieve good behavior, human is hampered by the lust. Educational process with the dominant role of reason in human beings will shape immoral human. Know that moral behavior is formed through exercise and would be better because of habituation.

Abstract

Islamic boarding school is the forerunner of Islamic education in Indonesia, which was founded due to the demands and needs of the times. Pesantren is born because of a sense of obligation Islamic da’wah, and disseminating the teachings of Islam as well as develop cadres ulama and da’i. Islamic boarding schools have long been an institution that has an important contribution to the nation to participate. A large number of pesantren in Indonesia, as well as a very large number of students at each boarding makes this institution to be reckoned with in terms of nation-building in education and moral. Improvements are continually made to the schools, both in terms of management, academic (curriculum) and facilities, making the boarding out of the traditional and conservative impression that had been assumed. The origin comes from the Hindu tradition schools that have long grown in this country. While the opinions of others say that the origin of the system of boarding education is a growing tradition in the Islamic and Arab world itself. Education schools have two teaching systems, i.e. systems sorogan, often called the individual systems, and systems or wetonan bandongan often called collectively. Boarding schools are educational institutions that grow and thrive in the midst of the community, its existence has been recognized by the community

Abstract

The family is the first place for the child to receive an education and coaching. Although the school specializes educational activities, it does not start from a vacuum. Because schools accept children after going through various experiences and attitudes and patterns of behavior and skills gained from the family environment. Implementation of religious education to children in families at an early stage have a very large degree of urgency, given the role played by institutions of formal education, are not able to replace the family institution. Similarly, the education curriculum materials, including religious education curriculum in formal educational institutions still tend to be oriented only filling the brain with a number of knowledge, rather than planting religious moral values. That phenomenon makes the implementation of religious education in the family take place strategic position, which is in addition to invest the basis of religious moral values to children also complements the deficiencies of the formal education system. Provision of basic capital religious education to children in the family can give implications as follows: a) children have a basic knowledge of religion, b) children have a basic knowledge of morals, and c) children have a basic knowledge of social. Abstract

Character education can be defined as the process of planting the essential values in children through a series of learning activities and assistance so that the students as individuals are able to understand, experience, and integrate values into core values in education into her personality. By placing the character education within the framework of the dynamics and dialectics of the individual establishment, the men and women educators are expected to increasingly be aware of the importance of education as a means of forming the character code of conduct, moral formation and enrichment of individual value by providing space for exemplary figure and creating an environment conducive to the growth process, such as comfort and security of self-development environment that helps each other in overall dimensions (technical, intellectual, psychological, moral, social, aesthetic, and religious).

Abstract

Instructional media selection includes several criteria that influence each other. The criteria are different according to the curriculum, learner analysis, a condition that occurs when planning and other variables. Environment, situation or condition, time and tolerance impact of the use are also very influential in determining the criteria for the selection of media. Selecting the media for learning should consider criteria: a) The accuracy of the learning objectives, b) Support for the contents of the learning material, c) Ease of obtaining media, d) Teachers’ skills in using, e) Time available for use, and f) In accordance with the level of students’ thinking. Good learning media must meet several requirements. Instructional media should increase the motivation of learners. The use of media has the goal to motivate learners. In addition, the media should stimulate learners remember what they have learned in addition to providing new learning stimuli. Good media enable learners to provide responses, feedback and also encourage students to do the practices correctly. This paper attempts to describe the role and the function of media and modules in the learning process with learners.

Abstract

Religious mental development of the student is not started at Islamic boarding school (pesantren), but family. The family plays a very dominant. The child is born into the world begin to receive education and up bringing-educational treatments, starting from his parents, then from another family, all of which provide the basics of personality formation. The coaching of personality is supplemented and enhanced by Islamic boarding school. Religion becomes the controlling moral for someone. The religion should be included in the development of his personality and an inseparable element in personal integrity. If not included in his personal coaching, then the religious knowledge that will accomplish is science (science) who does not share control of behavior and attitude in life. Then will we will get intelligent people who are talking about the laws and the rules of religion, but not compelled to comply. The religious sense does not necessarily encourage people to act in accordance with that understanding. Maybe it happens and will look familiar, if we understand the dynamics of life and drives for every action. An action or attitude is the result of co-operation of all functions of the soul, which is covered in it understanding, feelings and habits. Similarly with religion, it will be a mental controller, if understood, perceived and familiarized (rational, emotional, and practiced).
