Abstract

The success of the learning process is more probable when students demonstrate high levels of readiness to learn. However, evidence from previous studies suggests that not all students possess this readiness. This study aims to investigate the individual and combined effects of time management and sleep quality on students' preparedness for learning. Utilizing a quantitative survey design, the research engaged 178 students from the Kerinci State Islamic Institute. Sample size determination followed the Krejcie & Morgan formula, with sample selection executed through Simple Random Sampling. Data collection incorporated the Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale, Time Management Scale, and Sleep Quality Scale. Analysis of the research data involved simple and multiple linear regression. Results indicate that both time management and learning readiness significantly influence students' preparedness for learning, with time management exerting a stronger impact. This research carries substantial implications for addressing students' learning readiness challenges through the promotion of effective time management strategies and the assurance of adequate sleep quality. Such interventions can be efficiently implemented through higher education's guidance and counseling services, involving counselors and additional support structures.

Abstract

This study delves into the features of ELLLLO ( English Listening Lesson Library) used by the vocational high school teacher, with a focus on exploring her attitudes toward it through Makhlouf & Bensafi (2021) theory. This qualitative case study utilized semi-structured interviews and observations, collecting data from a vocational high school teacher at SMKN 3 Tenggarong through purposeful sampling. There are The five features used by teacher with different method and purposes concluded from the Observations and Interview. Then, Thematic analysis was employed to analyze the data to find the teacher;’s attitude. Then, the vocational teacher’s attitude towards using ELLLO in teaching listening was both positive and negative. She could provide receptive and productive skills in one media and it was easier for her to prepare for the class. The teacher’s attitude was also supported by her students' reactions who were more motivated to learn English using ELLLO. In contrast, the teacher feels upset to the pronunciation menu which is not yet available on ELLLO. The study found that ELLLO is an application that not only provides audio recording but also a grammar spot menu and quiz inside it. It appears that it was good to bridge the students’ and teachers’ needs at SMKN 3 Tenggarong.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of Big Book learning media on the expressive language ability of 5-6 year old children at TK Nusa. The research approach used was quantitative with a Quasi Experimental Design. The population in this study was group B aged 5-6 years at TK Nusa Makassar, totaling 48 children. Purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample of 20 children from group B, with 10 children in the experimental group and 10 children in the control group. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric analysis using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test version 26. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the expressive language ability of children treated with Big Book learning media in the experimental group was better compared to the control group. The average increase in the experimental group was 22.20, while in the control group it was 15.20. The test results showed Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.005 < 0.05, hence H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an influence of Big Book learning media on the expressive language ability of 5-6 year old children at TK Nusa Makassar.

Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a comprehensive approach to improving the quality of education through the active participation of all members within the institution. This study examines the role of employee engagement in the implementation of TQM at SD Negeri 001 Gunung Tabur, along with its factors and challenges. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that employee engagement, including teachers and administrative staff, plays a significant role in the application of TQM from planning, implementation, to evaluation. This engagement is reflected in various aspects, such as commitment to quality improvement, team collaboration, and active participation in teacher competency enhancement training. The challenges faced include human resource limitations, such as employees' lack of understanding of the importance of TQM, and material limitations, such as infrastructure and facilities. However, these challenges can be addressed through effective communication strategies and the development of new programs. The study concludes that optimal employee engagement is the key to the successful implementation of TQM in primary education environments.

Abstract

Implementation of PLS-SEM in educational research has developed significantly, but there are variations in the presentation of the analysis results. This study aims to provide practical understanding to researchers who intend to utilize PLS-SEM in multivariate analysis to enhance the recognition and validity of the resultant research outcomes using SmartPLS. This research is a literature study that conducts content analysis of relevant books and publications. The research results present PLS-SEM analysis using SmartPLS on reflective and formative research models with first-order and second-order approaches through measurement model evaluation (outer model) and structural model evaluation (inner model) with various criteria. Evaluation of the reflective measurement model consists of reflective indicator loadings, internal consistency reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. The review of the formative measurement model consists of convergent validity, collinearity, and statistical significance of weights. The structural model evaluation consists of the collinearity test, significance value, f square, R square, Q square, SRMR, PLSpredict, and robustness checks. Therefore, this study can provide guidance using SmartPLS in conducting PLS-SEM analysis and presenting acceptable analysis results.
