AL-BASHIRAH Journal of Islamic Studies is an academic journal published by the Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (P3M) Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Islam dan Bahasa Arab (STIBA) Makassar, Indonesia, in April and October every year. AL-BASHIRAH Journal of Islamic Studies contains Islamic studies on the Quran, hadith, jurisprudence, Islamic education, Islamic thought, and others in the form of research results, conceptual ideas, literature studies, and practical experience. The editorial team invites academics, lecturers, and researchers to contribute to this journal by submitting the scientific articles that have never been published by other journals. The manuscript is typed with Traditional Arabic font, space of 1 on A4-sized paper, with a writing length between 15-25 pages. The incoming manuscript will be evaluated and reviu by the Editorial Board and Peer-Reviewers. The Editorial Board may make changes to the articles for the uniformity of the format, without changing its substance. The Editorial Board accepts articles that meet scientific standards that conform to the theme of the journal in the field of Islamic studies. The Editorial Board receives article written only in Arabic language.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze linguistic exercises in teaching Arabic in the book al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaika. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research using the library method by analyzing the textbook “al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaika by looking for references in collecting data. The results of this study indicate that language exercises in teaching Arabic in the book al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaika is a book that excels in presenting varied and intensive language exercises using Arabic without any instructional language, namely there are three main language exercises , as follows: first, al-Tadribāt al-Aliyyah, namely exercises that aim to make students accustomed to using language with repetition and imitation exercises; second, Tadribāt al-Ma'na, which is an exercise that aims to train students to be able to understand dialogue or reading texts with correct understanding through questions and answers based on the text; and third, al-Tadribat al-Itishaliyyah, which is an exercise that aims to familiarize students with direct communication by giving free questions that are not bound by text.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the law of making snow sculptures in the form of images of living things, whether they resemble human or animal images from the perspective of Islamic law. This research uses inductive-deductive method. The results showed that, first, making snow sculptures for adults with complete limbs and clear features is prohibited and not allowed because it is included in the general prohibition on making sculptures from living things, and it needs to be reminded that making statues from living things the perishable are less restrictive than making a permanent statue; secondly, the making of a snow sculpture with incomplete organs - so as not to be left behind with the loss of its life - with a head by an adult, the more important thing is to refrain from doing this, due to its resemblance to the making of statues in general which has a clear prohibition; third, if the statue bears no resemblance to clear facial features, for example it does not have eyes, nose or mouth, but appears in a three-dimensional form without features, then the strongest opinion is that it is permissible, because there is no prohibition in that regard; fourthly, as for children, to play and have fun, then that is lawful for them, and pictures are permissible for children and not permissible for adults.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the forms and functions of interrogative sentences in Arabic and Indonesian, discuss the similarities and differences between the two languages, and explain the methods used in both languages. This study also aims to contribute to overcoming language difficulties and errors that are often experienced by Indonesian students when learning Arabic, especially in the form of interrogative sentences. The method used in this study is a descriptive method of comparison between the two languages, which consists of three stages: (1) description of the language of inquiry in both languages, (2) discovery of similarities and differences between the two languages, and (3) prediction of possible difficulties experienced by Indonesians in learning Arabic. Some of the results of this study are: (1) there are several similarities in the use of interrogative tools in Arabic and Indonesian, whether original or not, singular or plural, and both languages ​​have an important role in the form of interrogative sentences; (2) the word order in the use of question tools and interrogative sentences between Arabic and Indonesian is almost the same, and the two have a close relationship; and (3) the time in interrogative sentences in both languages, which can be used to ask about the past, present, or future. However, there are some differences in the form of interrogative sentences between Arabic and Indonesian, such as: (1) in Arabic, interrogative sentences are used to ask for confirmation and descriptions, whereas in Indonesian, interrogative sentences are only used to ask for descriptions; (2) in Arabic, interrogative sentences are carried out using a questioning tool and emphasis on voice, whereas in Indonesian, interrogative sentences can be carried out in three ways, namely only voice emphasis, using question tools and voice stress, and using question tools, voice stress. , and affixes. These differences can be difficult for Indonesians learning Arabic.

Abstract

Learning Arabic at the Sanawiya madrasah level tends to be less popular due to the lack of media in the learning process. One example is Arabic vocabulary lessons, which are lessons that are considered boring. This research aims to provide variations in learning Arabic vocabulary by using a spinning wheel game, with the aim of increasing students' understanding of vocabulary. Therefore, researchers conducted pre-experimental research on the application of a digital-based spinning wheel game to improve vocabulary learning for class VII students at Madrasah Ṣānawiyyah Ghazaliyya Jombang. The subjects of this research were 30 class VII students. In this study, researchers used the one-group pretest-posttest method. At the initial meeting, the researcher conducted a pretest, then gave treatment with a spinning wheel game, and then conducted a posttest. The results obtained showed that there was a significant increase in learning outcomes before and after carrying out the treatment. In the initial test, students obtained an average score of 57.50, and in the final test after treatment, students obtained an average score of 84.50. So descriptively, the posttest value is better than the pretest value, with a significance level of difference between the two values of 0.000 <0.05 (a sig value of 0.000 is less than 0.05). This means that the use of learning media with spinning wheel games in learning Arabic has a good influence on students. In other words, the spinning wheel game can improve students' learning of Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the teaching of the structure of nahwu science from the textbook "Al-Arabiyah Baina Yadaika Fi Ta'lim al-Lugah al-Arabiyyah li Ghairi al-Natiqina biha, Volume 1". This type of research is qualitative descriptive research using library methods by conducting content analysis in the textbook "Al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaika Volume 1" by tracing various references in data collection and analysis. The results of this research show that the textbook "Al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaika Volume 1" is a textbook that has advantages in teaching the structure of nahwu science in teaching Arabic for non-Arabs. The advantages of this textbook in teaching the structure of Nahwu science can be seen in the following ways. First, this textbook uses patterned and semi-patterned linguistic exercises, namely exercises that aim to create habits and understanding of meaning for students. Second, this textbook uses a variety of intensive linguistic exercises, such as: a) Tadrib al-Hiwar, ask and answer each other as an example; b) Tadrib al-Tahwil, change it as an example; c) Tadrib Takwin al-Jumlah, make sentences as follows; d) Tadrib al-Sual, ask as an example; and e) Tadrib Tartib al-Jumlah, arrange the following sentences. Third, this textbook teaches the structure of Nahwu science and provides a summary of the structure of each new lesson.

Abstract

The opposing groups of ahl al-ḥadīth, such as the past Mu’tazilites, groups of thinkers in the present days, and also orientalists that wrote about the Sunnah, assumed that the methods applied by al-Muḥaddithūn in ḥadīth critism are not meticulous and elaborated, especially in matn (content) criticism, which, in their view, received an inadequate amount of attention, as opposed to their attention to the criticism of sanad (chains of narration). They deemed that matn criticism must be based solely on the outlook of ʿaql (reasoning) to regard the appropriateness of a ḥadīth. Therefore, this study aims to address the extent of attention designated by al-Muḥaddithūn towards rational evidence in ḥadīth criticism and to highlight their directive in employing reasoning to criticize the chains of narration and the content of a ḥadīth. The research adopts inductive and analytical approaches while presenting the employment of reasoning by al-Muḥaddithūn in ḥadīth criticism. Some of the findings of the research lie in several observations: that the methods applied by al-Muḥaddithūn in ḥadīth criticism are based upon solid and profound principles of reasoning that are well-accepted by sensible people. And that all sound ḥadīth came from the Prophet pbuh, which has gone through the processes of criticism established by al-Muḥaddithūn, does not contradict reasoning that is enlightened by the Qurʾān and Sunnah.

Abstract

This research discusses the management of Kharāj in the book al-Kharāj by Abū Yūsuf and the kitāb al-Ahkām al-Sulṭāniyya by Abū Ya'lā. The aim of the research is to find out the management of Kharāj in the book al-Kharāj by Abū Yūsuf, to know the management of Kharāj in the book al-Ahkām al-Sulṭāniyya by Abū Ya'lā, and to find out the similarities and differences in views between Abū Yūsuf and Abū Ya'lā in management Kharaj. The research methods used to achieve the objectives are deductive, inductive, and comparative methods. The research results show several things. First, kharaj according to Abū Yūsuf is what is properly taken from the property of those who fight the Muslims without resorting to violence. The Kharaj collection system that he implemented was a profit-sharing system. Second, according to Abū Ya'lā, kharaj is what is imposed on the land owner in the form of rights that must be fulfilled on the land, and the collection system applied has three methods: based on the size of the land, the size of the land planted, and the percentage of production. Third, the similarity in views between Abū Yūsuf and Abū Ya'lā is that both of them agree with Jumhur regarding the meaning of Kharāj, the property taken from Kharāj, the land where Kharāj is located, its distribution system, and its managers. The difference is in the collection system and kharaj percentage.

Abstract

This research raises the subject of discussion regarding marfuk hadiths regarding the issue of giving and responding to greetings in prayer, which are collected in al-Kutub al-Sittah. The aim of this research is to find out the hadiths related to giving and responding to greetings in prayer, to find out the degree of these hadiths in terms of their validity and authenticity, as well as an explanation regarding the jurisprudential rules of giving and answering greetings in prayer. The methods used in this research are inductive and analytical. Among the conclusions are, first, that there are six hadiths on this issue from al-Kutub al-Sittah. Second, four of the hadiths are authentic, namely: the hadith of Abdullāh bin Mas'ūd, the hadith of Jābir bin 'Abdillāh, the hadith of Ṣuhaib bin Sinān, and the hadith of Abu Hurairah. As for the hadith of Bilāl bin Rabāḥ and the hadith of Ammār bin Yāsir, there are weaknesses in their sanad. Third, these hadiths show the ability to greet people who pray based on the iqrar of the Prophet Ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam. It is prescribed to answer greetings in prayer by gesturing with the palm of the hand or fingers. As for answering greetings with lafaz, this is included in the words that are prohibited in prayer.

Abstract

This research raises the subject of fiqh rules regarding customs according to Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah with the aim of revealing the current fiqh rules regarding customs according to Ibn al-Qayyim, mentioning the implementation of these rules in fiqh matters, and determining in what fields of jurisprudence these rules can be implemented. This research uses inductive, analytical, and applied approaches. The research results show several things. First, the disclosure of the main rules regarding customs, which were considered final by Ibn al-Qayyim in his ijtihad, and in general, there are three rules, namely: the rule "requirements based on custom are the same as oral requirements", the rule "permission based on custom is the same as permission based on verbal", and the rule "anything that is not specified in the Shari'a or language, the determination is returned to custom. Second, the many implementations of fiqh rules regarding customs in Ibn al-Qayyim's book show that he used these rules as a source of advice and suggestions in istinbat. Third, Ibn al-Qayyim applied many fiqh rules regarding customs in the field of muamalah fiqh.

Abstract

Contemporary child marriage has become a noticeable phenomenon in recent times, spreading rapidly and extensively. This research aims to clarify the concept of minors and elucidate the reasons and motivations behind the prevalent phenomenon of child marriage, both in the past and in contemporary society. The study reveals that there are social, economic, health, and psychological factors contributing to this issue. The research adopted a descriptive and inductive approach to investigate the reasons for marrying minors, based on an analysis of books and studies that discussed the motives for such marriages and the legal rulings on marrying minors. Additionally, the negative consequences of child marriages were examined. The research yielded findings, including the definition of a minor as someone who has not reached the legal age for marriage and is incapable of assuming marital responsibilities. The economic circumstances of the guardian sometimes force them to marry off their daughters to avoid the financial burden. Some parents resort to informal marriages, which the law prohibits, thus denying minors their rights. The study also highlighted the physical and mental health risks associated with child marriages, such as weakened immunity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and other health issues. Research has also documented cases of minors dying within a year of marriage. In conclusion, this research contributes to clarifying the concept of minors, uncovering the reasons for child marriages, and explaining the legal rulings regarding such unions.
