AL-BASHIRAH Journal of Islamic Studies is an academic journal published by the Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (P3M) Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Islam dan Bahasa Arab (STIBA) Makassar, Indonesia, in April and October every year. AL-BASHIRAH Journal of Islamic Studies contains Islamic studies on the Quran, hadith, jurisprudence, Islamic education, Islamic thought, and others in the form of research results, conceptual ideas, literature studies, and practical experience. The editorial team invites academics, lecturers, and researchers to contribute to this journal by submitting the scientific articles that have never been published by other journals. The manuscript is typed with Traditional Arabic font, space of 1 on A4-sized paper, with a writing length between 15-25 pages. The incoming manuscript will be evaluated and reviu by the Editorial Board and Peer-Reviewers. The Editorial Board may make changes to the articles for the uniformity of the format, without changing its substance. The Editorial Board accepts articles that meet scientific standards that conform to the theme of the journal in the field of Islamic studies. The Editorial Board receives article written only in Arabic language.

Abstract

This research discusses the law of the people who break the fast assuming the sun has set, then proved afterwards that the sun has not set by comparing the four schools and Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah, as well as how the implementation of the rule al-Aṣl Baqā' mā Kān 'alā mā Kān. This research aims to find out how the law of fasting according to the four schools, Shaykh Islam Ibn Taymiyyah in this matter, and how the above rules are implemented in this matter. The scientific method used in this study is inductive and deductive methods. The results showed that the law of fasting according to jumhūr al-ulamā’ for people who break the fast assuming the sun has set, then it is clear afterwards that the sun has not set is the unvalid fast, and he is obliged to replace (qaḍā’) it based on the proposition in their view. Jumhūr put this issue in the rule of al-aṣl baqā' mā kān 'alā mā kān. In contrast to Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taimiyah who considers that his fasting is valid and unnecessary based on the proposition on which he handles it, and he does not include this problem in the rule of al-aṣl baqā' mā kān 'alā mā kān.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the problem of teaching Arabic and its solutions in Language Preparation Program at STIBA Makassar. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with the type of field research research conducted at the STIBA Makassar campus in the Language Preparation Program. Data collection uses in-depth interview methods by making 17 lecturers (male and female) in the Language Preparation Program and 4 students in charge of language as a source of data/informants. The results showed that: (1) Lecturer perception related to the problem of Arabic Language Teaching in Language Preparation Program at STIBA Makassar there are six, as follows: (a) Teaching Book; most informants state that some teaching books are irrelevant to the student's condition in terms of vocabulary and expressions or environmental culture. (b) Learners; most informants state that most students have low motivation and interest in learning Arabic and discipline in the application of language, (c) Facilities and Infrastructure; learning facilities and infrastructure are still minimal, such as the absence of language laboratories, (d) Evaluation; some informants highlighted that oral test instruments have not been applied to all language courses in the Midterm Examination (UTS) and in the Final Semester Examination (UAS), (e) Curriculum; most informants say that one year's learning is relatively short coupled with a large amount of teaching material, and (f) Environment; most informants mention that lecturers and senior students cannot yet be used as role models in language, and activities outside the classroom are not more oriented towards language improvement; (2) Lecturer's Perception regarding Solutions to the problems of teaching Arabic in Language Preparation Program at STIBA Makassar there are six, as follows: (a) Teaching Book; most informants state that the Language Preparation Program at STIBA Makassar needs to make some teaching books to adjust to the conditions of students, (b) Learners; all informants say that the solution in overcoming the constraints of learners is the provision of motivation to students. Lecturers and senior students should be role models in the application of the language, (c) Facilities and Infrastructure; all informants state that STIBA Makassar should utilize learning facilities, namely language laboratories, (d) Evaluation; the infroman states that oral tests are important for the effectiveness of learning evaluation in all language courses at UTS and UAS, (e) Curriculum; all informants say that ideally language learning in the Language Preparation Program at STIBA Makassar is two years; (f) Environment; all informants say that the activation of language activities must be followed up by STIBA Makassar. Activities that do not synergize with language improvement must be reduced and the application of language rules. The implication of this research is that there is expected to be a follow-up to this study that highlights in terms of student perception related to constraints/problems in Arabic language learning and its solutions in Language Preparation Program at STIBA Makassar.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the relationship between the ability of memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim and the easeness of Arabic learning for female students at STIBA Makassar. The main objectives of this research were threefolds: 1. To understand the female students’ ability in memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim at STIBA Makassar, 2. To understand the processes of the Arabic learning and the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization activities of female students at STIBA Makassar, 3. To investigate the relationship between the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization ability and the easiness of Arabic learning for female students at STIBA Makassar. The researcher completed this study by using a qualitative descriptive method with a semi-quantitative approach. The data collection methods used in this research were personal interviews and accurate observations on the students’ learning process. The data of students’ academic assessments who were successful in one semester were collected and analysed. The quantitative data were also collected in this research from the answers of students through compatibility approach. From this research, it was apparent that the methods used by the teachers and students in memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim was considered to be very good. In terms of the relationship between the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization and Arabic learning, 100% of teachers and 97.9% of female students at STIBA Makassar were in agreement that there is a strong and close relationship between the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization and Arabic learning. In this case, the Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorization could assist students to understand the Arabic language and context and to pronounce the Arabic words and letters contained in the verses of the Al-Qur'an al-kariim. Besides, the non-Arabic Al-Qur'an al-kariim memorizers are able to learn Arabic easily because by memorizing the Al-Qur'an al-kariim, a memorizer applies and practices various aspects that could better their Arabic such as the four language skills, the Arabic elements, and the contexts of religious lessons and understandings.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the opinions of scholars of the Shafii and Hambali schools regarding the legal requirements for Friday prayers and the legal implications of these differences of opinion. This study uses a deductive and inductive method with a comparative approach. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the conditions for the validity of Friday prayers according to the scholars of the Shafi'i school are the entry of time (after the sun has slipped), carried out in residential areas according to residents' habits, there are forty people who are subject to the obligation of Friday prayers, preceded by two sermons that separated between the two by sitting down, not preceded by another Friday prayer and no Friday prayer being performed at the same time except in a big city and the condition of the people being so large that it is difficult for them to gather (in one place) so that the Friday prayer may be performed in different areas at the same time. While the legal requirements for Friday prayers according to Hanbali scholars are that they may be carried out before the entry of Zuhur time and should be carried out after the entry of Zuhur time, carried out in residential areas according to the habits of the residents, the presence of forty, fifty or thirty congregations (there are mistakes), sermons, as for sitting between two sermons, the law is sunnah and the sermon remains valid without sitting; (2) the legal implication of the difference of opinion between the two schools of thought is that it can affect the legal validity of Friday prayers, namely if there are conditions that are not fulfilled in one of the schools, while these conditions have been fulfilled in other schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors that influence the success of teaching Arabic. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research using the library research method. The results of the study indicate that the determining factors that influence the success of teaching Arabic, namely: (1) determining teaching objectives which include teaching plans, teaching materials and evaluations; (2) a teacher who has a very urgent role; (3) teaching facilities; (4) students, taking into account the background and abilities of the students; and (5) teaching environment. These five factors are interrelated with each other in realizing the success of teaching Arabic.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the Moroccan community pays attention to the sirah nabawiyyah, specifically in the book of al-Syamā'il al-Muḥammadiyyah. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical and historical approach. The results showed that among the forms of Moroccan people's attention to the sirah of the Prophet Muhammad especially the book of al-Syamā'il al-Muḥammadiyyah is the number of syurūḥ (explanations) of the Moroccans to the book of al-Syamā'il al-Muḥammadiyyah as evidence of their attention to the book. The book of al-Syamā'il al-Muḥammadiyyah by al-Tirmiżī is one of the most important references to get to know the figure of the Prophet because it has contained everything related to his character, character and physical. Al-Tirmiżī strongly maintains the validity of the hadith and is committed to the validity of the hadith he narrates

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the differences between the Shafii and Hanbali schools in the prayer movement and its foundations. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a comparative study technique. The results showed that: (1) the differences between the Shafii and Hambali schools in the movement of prayer were the limit of raising the hand during takbiratul ihram, the state of the fingers when lifting, the position of the right hand on top of the left hand when holding hands, raising the hand when standing from tasyahud for the third rak'ah, the position of the hands after standing from bowing, and the law of sitting and resting before giving, how to raise the index finger when pointing, and how to hold hands when tasyahud; (2) the difference between the Shafii and Hambali schools in the prayer movement is caused by differences in taking, understanding, compromising and tarjih hadith.

Abstract

This study aims to determine Arabic and Indonesian grammar in the form of imperative sentences by describing the similarities and differences between them. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a comparative research methodology which consists of three research steps, namely describing imperative sentences in Arabic and Indonesian grammar, collecting sides of similarities and differences in imperative sentences in Arabic and Indonesian grammar, and predicting students' difficulties in learning Arabic because of the grammatical differences that exist between them. The results of the study show that the two languages ​​have similarities in: 1) commands and times, where the imperative sentences in both languages ​​are addressed to the interlocutor and for the present or future time; 2) there is no change in the form of imperative sentences in Arabic grammar, especially in ism fi'il amr and maṣdar na'ib ‘an fi'il amr, which also occurs in Indonesian grammar; 3) the order of command sentences in both languages ​​consists of fi'il (verb) and fa'il (subject). The grammatical differences between the two languages ​​lie in the breadth of Arabic in the variety of uslub, suitability in type (male or female), number, and personal (speaker, interlocutor and spoken to) where this is a difficulty for Indonesian students in learning Arabic.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the technical and scientific methods used by Ibn `Abd al-Salām al-Hawwārī al-Mālikī in explaining the problems of hajj and hunting in his book, Tanbīh al-Ṭālib, and to explain its benefits for the scientific treasures of the Maliki school of jurisprudence and Islamic jurisprudence in general. This study uses the al-waṣfi method in the tamhīid section and the istiqra' istintaji method in the discussion section on Ibn `Abd al-Salām's method in explaining the problems of hajj and hunting, namely by perusing all chapters of hajj and hunting and then concluding the method used by the author. Among the results of this research are: first, this paper has succeeded in uncovering several scientific methods used by the author in explaining the chapters of pilgrimage and hunting; secondly, the author has made a valuable contribution to the Maliki school of thought in terms of knowledge and methods of writing book syarahs; third, there is a serious effort from the author in making syarah on the issues of pilgrimage and hunting, this is evident from the use of many methods and ways of doing so; fourth, there is a strong commitment from the author to always present arguments from texts and others, also always present a discussion of the problems discussed by presenting rebuttals and answers; fifth, the author's specialty lies in his strength in strengthening (tarjih) problems by always including satisfying arguments.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the law of zakat on the assets of young children according to the four schools of thought and to analyze the opinions of scholars of the four schools regarding the law of zakat on the assets of young children. The research method used is inductive and comparative methods. The results of this study are: first, according to Hanafi, the law of zakat on the assets of young children is not obligatory, while according to the Maliki, Shafi'i and Hambali schools, it is obligatory. Hanafi is of the opinion that zakat is worship that is mahḍah which requires the age of maturity and intelligence, while the Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali schools do not require adulthood and have reason in it, because of the generality of the zakat verses and the existing hadiths, so they view that it is obligatory; second, based on the results of the analysis, the researcher believes that zakat on the assets of young children must be paid zakat for several reasons other than the arguments of the Al-Qur'an and Sunnah, including zakat is a property worship, and small children may own these assets, so that the right of the indigent The poor should not be prohibited from receiving zakat assets.
