Abstract

This study attempts to examine the extent to which school-related variables such as teacher's quality, classroom ergonometric affects the Quality Leaning Outcome of senior secondary school students. The study was a survey research design. Data was collected from 385 senior secondary school students of government-operated secondary schools in Calabar, Cross River state, using a structured questionnaire. The purposive sampling technique was used in selecting the samples from the study area. Collected data were screened and checked for errors. The data was then analysed using descriptive and parametric statistics at 0.05 significant level. Out of the 385-instrument distributed, 376 was returned and used for analysis. From the interpreted data, the result revealed that high teacher quality statistically significantly differs from low teachers' quality in terms of Quality Leaning Outcome of secondary school students. This result is because the calculated t-value of t (374) = 3.57 was higher than the critical t-value of 1.96 at p < .05. This result means that the high quality of teachers affects student academic outcome. Also, the result revealed that classroom ergonometric significantly relates to quality of academic outcome. Because the calculated r-value of 0.170* is greater than the critical r-value of 0.098 at 0.05 level of significance with 374 degrees of freedom. With these results, we can conclude that school-related variables significantly relate to quality academic outcome. Hence, there is a need for improvement in school variables in schools in the study area.

Abstract

There is a very limited number of studies on why majority of school heads who took the National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH) failed, thus the necessity to conduct this study. It explored the factors that influenced the ratings of NQESH through exploratory sequential mixed methods involving 102 school heads in the 1st Congressional District of Zamboanga Sibugay. The qualitative data gathered from 10 respondents through face-to-face interview and focus group discussion arrived at the factors that affected NQESH performance, namely: luck, ability, strong desire, physical state, task difficulty, emotional state, mental state, and effort. The quantitative data gathered from 92 respondents through a researcher-made survey instrument were subjected to Pearson Coefficient of Correlation, t-test and stepwise regression. It is concluded that the internal locus of control factors such as ability, effort, physical state, and NCBS-SH domains along with the external locus of control factors such as luck, and task difficulty, wield a significant influence in the NQESH performance. Educational attainment, level of management training attended, and marital status were also differentiating factors in NQESH performance. Based on the regression analyses results, NCBS-SH, management training, ability, and task difficulty are good predictors of NQESH performance. NCBS-SH competencies can improve and enhance school management ability. Dynamic professional development and more developed critical and analytical skills are definitely needed to pass the NQESH.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research was to determine the nature of the relationship between inward FDI flow into India and selected sets of FDI location determinants. The paper also investigates the exact impact of the individual FDI location determinants on inward FDI flow into India. Following these objectives, eight variables relating to the inward FDI locational advantage theory were selected, with data running from 1965-2018. The investigated location determinants for inward FDI include tax, market size (GDP), a measure of market potential (GDPPC), human capital (education), wage cost, Ease of Doing Business (DB), and measure of economic progress (GDP growth). The method of data analysis involved the application of OLS regression, taking note of the necessary assumptions for the use of OLS. The results of the study indicate that GDP growth is the only significant FDI location determinant in India, with a positive impact of about 0.57. This implies that the Indian government should prioritise policies that seek to boost GDP

The research design employed for the study was a descriptive survey type. The population of the study was made up of all Unity and Privates secondary schools in Kwara and Oyo States, Nigeria. Purposive and random sampling techniques were used to select the respondents in all the sampled schools. The data for the study were gathered through the use of questionnaires tagged “Quality Assurance Practices Questionnaire” (QAPQ) administered to teachers, Vice Principals and Principals. The data gathered during this study were analyzed with inferential statistics called t-test and ANOVA. The findings revealed a slight difference in infrastructural facilities in the sampled schools. Private secondary schools in Kwara and Oyo State were rated higher than the Federal Government Colleges. This paper further revealed that the discipline and control of staff in private secondary schools in Kwara and Oyo States were stricter than the Federal Government Colleges in both States. Based on these findings, the paper recommended among others that there should be adequate provision of infrastructural facilities, efficient supervision of schools to maintain a quality standard of equipment, especially the provision of potable water and electricity in the Federal Government Colleges. Also, staff discipline in private secondary schools should be more relaxed instead of instant judgment in the interest of fairness and low staff turnover.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect og using the Bamboo Dancing Learning Methods on the Biology learning outcomes of IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Bambel on biotechnology materials. Sample were taken 80 students from 104 students. The research design used in this study was one-group pre-test and post-test design. In collecting data, a multiple-choice biology learning outcome test was used. The data analysis technique in this study used the calculation of the mean, median, mode, and variance according to Sudjana’s theory and continued with the t-test. From the research that has been done on the bamboo dancing learing methoods, the average pre-test is 61,44, the median is 62,5 and the mode is 60, while the average post-test score on the post-test is 80,75, the median is 80 and the mode is 80. It can be seen that the student’s scores on the post-test were much higher than the pre-test scores, the t-count value was greater than the t-table (13,76>1,67), so Ho wa rejected and Ha was accepted. So, student learning outcomes after being given teaching with bamboo dancing methods increased, In other words: “there is an effect of using the bamboo dancing learning methods on student learning outcomes on the subject matter of biotechnology in class IX of SMP Negeri 1 Bambel.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the ethics of God's servants related to the calling and duties of church ministry based on Philippians 2:21-21. First, servants of God in carrying out church duties sometimes tend to forget or ignore that they are called and chosen by God to serve souls wholeheartedly and with high ethics. Many servants of God who do not show ethical attitudes that match their status as a servant of God are found so that it becomes a stumbling block within the church as a community of believers, as well as outside the church as an environment that can be reached to Christ. In this paper, the descriptive qualitative method is used, by collecting data through the Bible and other literature books such as journals, interviews, and documents related to the topic of discussion, such as social media and Youtube. As a result, a servant of God is ethically obliged to have the nature of loyalty to God who has called him. Second, a servant of God is ethically obligated to be an example in God's entrusted to service. In conclusion, a servant of God is essentially an ethical human being because he is called by God, the Source of Ethics; the servant of God needs to grasp the essence of his calling by realizing that serving is an honour and grace in God's call. Thus, he is required to show an ethical attitude: a servant of God is ethically obliged to have the nature of loyalty to God who has called him. Second, a servant of God is ethically obliged to be an example in the service God has entrusted to him.
